Tsubasa Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 It was cool, but I just want to say that I think casuals should either not happen or be discouraged during the danisen. There was a while where 4 dudes at level 1 were playing casuals & I was forced to play the same 2-3 dudes for ranking. Actually, there's no new NCI till August. Also we're ditching the first Saturday thing and replacing it with a better in-advance notification system. We'll keep you posted. You might want to keep the NCI thread posted about this scheduling change too. This is the first I heard of it & I read that thread & the NCI Twitter.
Oiboi Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 Sorry for missing this guys, I really wanted to go but I had to take a moved up dr.s appointment for a sleep study. Couldn't really miss it so I had to go. I'll do my absolute best to make the next one and bring a setup if possible. Also, if anyone needs carpools, I'm willing to offer a ride. As for when the next one should be, one that's coming up within the next two weeks would be pretty dang cool. I'm also down for the boot camp idea, I love helping beginners get into GG so it'd be really cool to offer some advanced help to players that way.

Anyone who was negative has been adjusted to the new floor. Sorry about this and thanks to James and Sean for bringing this to my attention. @ehuangsan: The "NorCal Boot Camp" kumite sounds like a great idea. June 30th weekend may be iffy for some people due to it being AX weekend. Also I'm open to weekday proposals as well, just having it on Saturday limits our options. @Chun: So no new NCI until P4U comes out? OK. Right now I have every third Saturday at Gamecenter. @Oiboi: You know what, I'll create a carpool list in the first post for any stragglers. [TRM]tenkai-45i[xTF] Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 So, with that cool head to head and stream setup, maybe we should randomly select one person from the 1 Dan league for a kumite, versus everyone else that happens to be at GameCenter at the time (best 2 of 3 matches) with color commentary, perhaps with someone pointing out where each person is going wrong so they can refer to the stream video later. I think that would be cool. We'll call it Nor-Cal Boot Camp. I think this is awesome. Let's do it.
Foam-Dome Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 I'm loving the Norcal Boot Camp idea. Shining Aquas is the only decent GG player I have matches with outside of NCI or NCD, and receiving thorough instruction from other good players would really help me improve.

It's always good to see everyone and get some matches in to level up my game. I drive up from Sunnyvale, usually alone, so if anyone needs a ride up for NCD or even NCI (I usually drive Chun up in the mornings and then not actually show up for NCI), just let me know here or on twitter or something. Manabe (DA) 4. magz (BO) Ahah, that's right, thanks for supplying that =) Yeah if the floor was set properly, we should have a lot more 2dans but it's also quite easy to derank to 1dan but people might've been able to reach 4dan otherwise as well. Sorry about that! Anyways, the ranks should stabilize themselves by the next danisen! @Kijiyama: You should bring it. Though I haven't decided if I'm gonna show or not yet
