Mayftw Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 (edited) so..... someone just told me they spoke to myung who said that dogfight was this saturday.. any clarification? btw I'm back in norcal for a few weeks for EVO and whathaveyou. cross-post from GC's FB: Shall we make the night even better? Let's. Gamecenter is officially announcing a Gundam Extreme VS tournament at Evo! Sponsored by Gamecenter, NorCal Dogfights, and Bluefin Distribution! "Who's Bluefin Distribution?", I hear you cry. They happen to be the Bandai distributor of toys and model kits in the US There is rumored to be an exclusive Gunpla kit for the grand champion of this tournament, along with other prizes.... :D SO! In the run up to this, we are also announcing weekly Gundam meetups! Starting this Saturday, we will have the Gundam setups ready for people who want to train. I will also be announcing this event on all the EXVS forums and FB pages. So everyone come out and start training! So if there's Dominion and GG, then I would like to come. Also, I hear you play Race. Edited June 22, 2012 by Mayftw
totoroslayer Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 http://www.facebook.com/events/444233742267483 And Brett, where in Norcal are you? You should come this Saturday!
brett_ Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 I live in Burlingame so I'll be around. I think a bunch of us are planning on stopping by GC but dunno for how long. @mayftw: I actually don't play Race, though I am often told I should. I actually have the nitroplus version of dominion from Japan, I'll probably be bringing that.
Dakanya Posted June 25, 2012 Author Posted June 25, 2012 I've started a Facebook group for us local Gundam players so I can get more input on Dogfight and so that we'd have a place to talk about Gundam as well. If you play Gundam and/or are interested in playing Gundam, come join the Facebook group. https://www.facebook.com/groups/norcaldogfight/
thkthkthkthk Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 We gonna have a NCD on 07/21? If there is - why do we always have NCD during GW2 beta.
Dakanya Posted July 11, 2012 Author Posted July 11, 2012 Yes, we are supposed to be having one on the 21st... somehow the 21st is almost here already!
Mayftw Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 21st... I'll be there. Somebody bring Dominion please.
Dakanya Posted July 14, 2012 Author Posted July 14, 2012 (edited) The release of P4U is almost here which means a new surge of players and to meet that demand, we need more events! With that said, I'd like to ask how many people would want to come play P4U at Norcal Dogfight and what kind of event they would like to see? We could run double-elim singles or it could be what we do for Guilty Gear now e.g. danisen and unique events such as 2on2 Waseda, 3on3 SBO-pokemon style, big team battles (civil war), kumite, etc. Just as a reminder, Norcal Dogfight is every third Saturday so that means it will be the week after NCI in August. The upcoming Norcal Dogfights are on July 21 and August 18. Regarding Guilty Gear, we had our first danisen last month and we gained some hands-on experience on how to run a danisen but danisens should be run frequently, weekly really. Unfortunately I don't really see this happening for Guilty Gear but it was fun. How many of you still want a danisen for Guilty Gear and will show up for it? How many of you think we should scrap the danisen idea for Guilty Gear? We could run one more just for fun anyways and just for the sake of doing it better this time but I need to hear everyone's opinions and feedback! Also last time we took way too much time to switch games for the stream but I'm working with magz to address this issue and it shouldn't be a problem at the next Dogfight. Here are some events I really want to make happen next week for Guilty Gear: civil war (everyone splits into two teams and we fight) newbie kumite Edited July 14, 2012 by Dakanya
Dakanya Posted July 14, 2012 Author Posted July 14, 2012 (edited) merged this post with my earlier post Edited July 14, 2012 by Dakanya
Kaori Manabe Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 i'd say danisen is a really good choice for P4U provided many people are going to get in on it. as for guilty gear i dont know about that, the skill gap and amount of players is not a good combination and i think we should just do singles/teams for guilty gear. gundam do w/e
[TRM]tenkai-45i[xTF] Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 I agree with Manabe. P4U Danisen would be great if people are up for it. Otherwise, maybe 2on2s (random or set) would be good. For GG, the skill gap is pretty wide between certain groups of players, so it wouldn't be as interesting. Leaving it as singles might be fine.
Aginor Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 I think the P4U danisen is a great idea. I'd support this if it happened.
brett_ Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 Danisen seems like a very good format for P4U since the game is new and players are still learning and evolving. It feels more like a neck to neck race, rather than a 'you must be this tall to ride'.
Dakanya Posted July 18, 2012 Author Posted July 18, 2012 Hey guys, we have some players interested in running AQUAPAZZA at Norcal Dogfight so we'll be running that once it comes out!
Tsubasa Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 I will run AQUAPAZZA. Everyone should play it! I recently was moved back to a weekday shift, so I should be able to attend NCDs.
Yggjrasil Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 I'm so down for AQUAPAZZA, The game looks so hype!
Dakanya Posted July 19, 2012 Author Posted July 19, 2012 Just thought I'd announce this for anyone who happens to be reading but due to the lack of responses and feedback here, I've decided to expand our presence to Twitter and Facebook as well. Since we're hoping to run a P4U danisen, P4U will have an influx of new players who probably won't even know about Dustloop. I actually made the accounts and everything during the initial conception of Dogfight but I never used them.
