We were definitely thinking of having one the first week of October... we had an impromptu $1 tourny last night at NCI, not sure if we should have one this week at Dogfight but we could.... also the more copies the merrier, I don't know if we'll need it but it never hurts so just in case

I'm going to order a copy of Water Pizza. Does anyone have a play asia coupon or the like?

Even if there isn't a Aquapazza tournament, I'll always be bringing a setup to Dogfight for it. Casuals or not. (Note that there is interest in Aquapazza outside of the usual Dogfight crew now.)

Also, the Play-Asia Asian edition copy is $75.90 with free shipping! Really cheap considering I bought mine for a lot more.

Unless people really want it earlier, I was thinking of starting AP tourneys beginning Oct. This time, I expect there to be probably 2 setups running it the entire time, so people can get some more exp with the game. If you've never touched the game before, try it out!

On the subject of AP tourneys, I've been at some deliberation about the tourney rule set and I think I've come to a decision, but I'm gonna toss it out here and see if anyone opposes it. The issue in question is char selection. Should winners be allowed to change their partner chars if they win? I'm leaning towards an adaptation of SFIV ultra selection rules where it would be yes, but they must choose before their opponent. Opinions?

I agree. Some matchups become really bad with the wrong assists. (default Rina assist isn't that great against zoning, neutral game etc.)

For some reason, my eyes glazed over the word partner when I read this the first time... sounds reasonable to me!

This Saturday is Norcal Dogfight and we'll have a few AQUAPAZZA setups available so give the game a go if you haven't already! We'll be keeping the same schedule but I have a couple things in mind...

P4U: For a change of pace, how does everyone feel about having one big team battle instead of a 2v2? I know we could definitely get something like a 12v12 going...

EXVS: Instead of a tournament, we can have a Gundam Academy of sorts. It'll still be on team hold but one of our several seasoned players will observe and coach. You can receive direction for what to immediately focus on, what to incorporate into your play first, what subtleties you might need to pay more attention to, etc.

Still haven't tried AP but I don't see why not.

P4U: That sounds like it'd be really really fun lol. Totally for it.

EXVS: Same response as the one to P4U. Really wanna try and at least be decent at Gundam, but man I'm awful.

Either way, all of these sound really fun for just doing stuff as a community, in addition to just playing the games as well. Lookin' forward to it . v .

All those ideas sound cool as fuck, geeked that I'll actually be able to make it out this weekend.

Aquapizza: I played one match of that and I had no idea what was going, I want to play more of that for sure.

team battle: I'm totally down with that.

gendum: I took at look at some of the stuff that was going on last time, this game looks really fun and I want to learn how to play it. Would your experienced players be up for teaching me how to play when I've never touched it before?

Team battle sounds pretty hilarious and awesome.

Definitely going to mash some more Aquapazza this weekend.

For anyone who wants to learn Gundam, don't worry about being bad or whatever, most of the more experienced people are more than willing to help you learn the ropes. :D

@TheTZA: Tsubasa and thk are both probably gonna swing by later like after 5pm so bring your copy of AQUAPAZZA. I've also PM'd you in case you miss this

Usually the wall-mounted LCDs in the corridor are available.

BYOC is available and up to you. There are six cabinets setup with a PS3 + monitor + sticks + USB dongles for your own controller and there is room to bring your own PS3, monitor is optional, they have a row of TVs in the hallway.

I hate colds. Next one for sure. :c

take it easy, practice good hygiene, it's easy to get sick going to all these events. stay hydrated, have some hand sanitizer ready, eat healthy, sleep well, i'll see you next time

Special shoutouts to everyone who tried out AQUAPAZZA and the new faces for Gundam EXVS!

Thanks to everyone for helping out, it wouldn't have been such a great event without you guys.

Also shoutouts to the people who confusedly found themselves in San Mateo when they thought they were carpooling to Sacramento...

ah thanks for catching that, my eyes tend to glaze over when people enter with multiple characters. i've already edited the results twice for that reason lol. should be fixed now! thanks!

Aquapazza was interesting, am definitely going to spend some time learning this game just to figure out cool point/assist combinations. dunno how seriously I'm gonna take it though, considering I have a long ways to go in P4U

PS: Lolimaiko played Aigis in the danisen
