I am now determined to get better at that as well. That game would be Beatmania IIDX. If you're interested in rhythm games might I suggest trying Pop'n Music a try? Was he the one across from me at Denny's? If so he should totally come again, he's a pretty cool guy who doesn't afraid of anything. I think so. Yeah, while I can be a pain in the ass to deal with most of the time, these guys are awesome to hang out with.

The most expensive part about playing Bemani stuff is importing/ custom building those crazy controllers. The Bemani section of Konami does a ton of awesome music games. Beatmania (possibly the first arcade rhythm game), Pop'n Music (my favorite music out of any bemani game, DDR, DancemaniaX, parapara paradise, Guitar Freaks/ Drummania/ Keyboardmania (like guitar hero or rockband, but came out a decade earlier, and has awesome Jrock/Pop music). . . TGA had everything except Keyboardmania. It was good hanging out with you too and I agree: Denny's with the NE fighting game scene is one of the best parts about meetups. On a completely separate note, I'm changing my major from Japanese to Sociology.
