Fraga Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 (edited) the impression that you guys are exclusively casual players Far, far, far from it my friend. We go to various tournaments and practice alot. Mindgam3 for example was top 8 at Summer Jam (I think it was) in KoFXIII. We've been trying to get a new venue for awhile now but all the ones we found are not very good or too far for most people in the scene. We used to hold our own tournaments (Such as The ACT tournaments, New England Revolution, and Stryfe's Uprising) and Ranbats when we did play up in Vernon. I was the TO for most of them as well (Not ACTs, though I did help later on). Right now we're just on the down-low until we find that new venue. But for now we're content just visiting each other at each others houses. Edited September 7, 2012 by Fraga
The Katz Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 (edited) Linear why aren't you having my babies? I laughed so hard I almost vomited. Saphri, you tell some good jokes. Seriously, though. While we aren't as 'active' anymore (as Fraga explained) I'd say that most of us are pretty decent at our own respective games. Some of us are rusty (Mindgame ), but there really aren't any bad/casual players besides Fraga and Glitch. Edited September 7, 2012 by The Katz
LordPangTong Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 i'm not afraid of you, but i don't trust you, there is a difference, trust is earned. if you think that i'm afraid because i'm not showing up, that is neither the case, the guy who hosts this stuff has the choice to give me directions but he refuses to do so. i had a conversation with crown empress and he wondered why i didn't feel welcome here, i let him know but he didn't seem to understand. he was the only one from here who actually bothered talking to me. this group has given me no incentive to consider it, we had a bad start and nothing else. the core issue is that i have been given the impression that you guys are exclusively casual players, and while i can respect that, it really isn't what i'm looking for. you should know that casual players and competitive players do not mix. btw, the "bodyguard" thing was a bit of a joke, i just wanted to bring someone good to play with so i wouldn't be bored out of my mind. Haha yeah, though only a few of us do significant travelling for tournaments and the like, you can just generalize everyone into the casual player category and act like we're not worth your time. Oh btw, if you play like this -> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S0GaKDsgGRY irl, you aren't the only one who would be bored out of your mind =D

Whoa whoa whoa, hold on, I never refused to give you directions, you just didn't ask me directly. Had you pmed me, I would have certainly given them to you, but I just saw you say that you were considering it so I didn't want to jump the gun and give them to you in case you weren't gonna come anyway. Really, you're free to come if you want, but again, if you want, and I'm not sure you really want to, so that's why I'm hesitant to push it on you to join us. Don't want to make you feel uncomfortable, you know? Second, I wouldn't say we had a bad start, it was just awkward because everyone (or at least me) was just confused at everything that was happening. I feel like you're just being a little grim about everything, like, where some people would say, "lol, sorry about the trolling guys, thought people would get the joke but guess not, mind if I join you guys?", you instead seemed to say "no one got my joke, so clearly I am unwelcome and this community is not for me." Trust me, we're not being mean or anything, we welcome any and all players, you just gotta bear with us, eh? Third, what Fraga said. Most of us are indeed competitive players: Cheese (who I don't think I've ever beaten in any game ever), Mindgam3, LPT, Vyers, Furok, and many others. I personally have not taken BB competitively for a while, but I do compete in Tekken and MK, but that hasn't stopped me from grinding out combos in anime fighters and such. We do however, not stick solely to GG or BB (though that's what's playing almost every time), so we'll usually have KOF because there are a few KOF players here, and lately we've been playing some SC5 and P4A. We call it casuals not because we are casual players, but because we're not playing competitions at my house. So yeah, don't be intimidated, you can give it some time and you'll learn to trust us a lil more (hopefully), just don't be too judgmental or else you'll end up looking at every negative aspect and dislike us before you've met us. Reading text on internet posts doesn't give a tone of voice or anything like that, so it's difficult sometimes to discern that something is more light-hearted than it may seem. CrownEmpress Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 Way to start the drama again Danny. Why can't you just let SLEEPING DOGS lie? Go buy sleeping dogs it's a good game.
Danny Schme Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 Way to start the drama again Danny. Sorry, Mean Girls was on TV yesterday and I just couldn't help myself.

Fraga Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 (edited) there really aren't any bad/casual players besides Fraga and Glitch. Looks like you're GROOSIN for a BRUISAN Lets just put everything to rest I'd say. Drop everything and relax. I'd like to mention for giggles and shits I'm bringing Sengoku Basara X tomorrow to casuals with my PS2, as well as HnK (and FUC but who needs to know?). Edited September 7, 2012 by Fraga
OutlawVinegar Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 Way to start the drama again Danny. In all fairness, he's actually just continuing the drama that's already been started. As was said before, it's easy to misinterpret what someone types online because there's no tone of voice to draw context in. That said, I gotta admit, the "I don't feel safe" and "I don't trust you guys" comments are borderline insulting no matter how I attempt to read them. This is an open, public forum for anyone in the New England area to get together, and while that doesn't guarantee anything, just reading people's posts should make it clear that 'casuals' are a friendly, fun affair. If there was something amiss or 'untrustworthy' and people were very unsatisfied with something (stuff stolen, fistfights), it would be fairly obvious. As for whether people are 'totally casual' or not, that's something you'd have to decide for yourself. Personally, I think your 'might not be worth my time' attitude is pretty snotty for someone who says they haven't played seriously in a few years, but I freely admit that I'm one of the worst players to go to casuals. You won't know until you go, I guess. Besides, even if you completely outclass everyone in GG, I'm sure you'd have a harder time in, say, KoF. You could help GG players level up, and probably learn a thing or two yourself in P4U or Melty. But come on, the 'casual and competitive players don't mix' mindset is just about dead and gone, and for good reason. [Aftermath-of-the-shitstorm-edit] S'what I get for taking half an hour to type out my thoughts, as usual. Disregard that, ISC or something.
capsuletoyco Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 Damn having to work and living so far away, I love me some basara
Vyers Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 Well it'll be good to see you folks tomorrow. Honestly its been sometime since I've played fighters at all and even longer since I last played people besides Noisetank and Dave Chen. Looking forward to shaking off some Guilty rust, trying out Aquapazza, and playing more real people in Persona Fighter. Tales we need to do a History Repeating: Blue singalong

Lord Pwnge18 Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 It's a good thing I'm not at a keyboard or else my mad would be plastered all over the wall in text format. Saphri, I dunno what kind of impression you're trying to leave us with, but it may not be going the way you intentioned. Just something to think about.
agp24 Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 Vyers, you're tempting me to ask if I can ride with you guys solely to do that. God damn it.
