I'm from Connecticut, and I'm wondering, do any of you other players from CT have any frequent gatherings or tournaments in the state? I kind of want to play offline matches for some of my fighting games, mostly Persona, and I figure hell, I'll give a shot asking here to see how the scene is. Is TaigaStyle like Manta Style? We hang out at Why's randomly (when it's happening it's usually every other week... that I'm aware of, at least). Might want to send him a private message.

For anime within CT, you will typically find gatherings in Windsor, Wolcott, perhaps Hartford, and on the occasion Southbury. If you don't mind playing in people's basements, definitely keep an eye out on this thread. By far the most active tournament scene in the state is at GamingETC in Stratford, which is an actual venue that hosts "Fight Nights" every Tuesday evening from 6:00pm-10:00pm with tournaments held on arbitrary Saturdays. While the main focus is typically Street Fighter/Marvel/KoF, certainly with more support could we build an anime community. Most of the players there are pretty neutral to P4U due to it being at Evo, so a few heads are looking to get back into it.

I am actually looking forward to going to New challengers on February 16th but they said there are too many games running now that MK9 has been added as a small exhibition tournament (which I suggested and gonna go there for). I'm pretty sure the next one will have Persona running now with the EVO announcement and all. ETC is pretty much the only place where I can get casuals in since it's the closest place to where I live if anyone is willing to go for Persona or anything anime related really and where I can attempt to build interest at (and get better). I mean, now that I don't work on Tuesdays and Thursdays anymore, I can totally make it there if I have a reason to go. What games do you play Taiga? I play some Melty Blood, I guess, and I would like to get into Blazblue with Chrono Phantasma coming out eventually. There's a number of other miscellaneous games I like playing for fun but the ones I mentioned are the ones I find people recognize the most.

If you're around or near the Hartford County or you just love driving, we play BB/P4U in either Windsor CT or Ludlow MA at least once a week. We'd love to meet some new players!

I'd love to know how you got Melty Blood if we ever meet up. Blazblue is a game I just got back into but i'm really not looking forward to Chrono but i'm probably gonna have to get it anyways (I'm kinda against arcsystem's way of handling revisions). What part of Ct do you hail from though, Taiga?

I've actually been to gaming ETC a couple of times, but since I mostly like the airdasher fighters and school started getting in the way I took a break. Though, I should clarify, I'm not all that great at any of the games I play. It's really the reason I want more offline play, I don't really get any experience with the games even though I have tons of interest in them. I hope that's not a problem.

Those who are free...may feel free to come between the hours of 6:00pm-10:00pm. They run exclusively on 360's, but I'll bring a PS3 setup just out of habit. I'm willing to play taxi to a limited extent, though I may not be able to stay for the duration. (I usually wake up at 4am and go to bed ~8.
