I know some games usually try to check for a PSN connection upon start up or while loading to the main menu, but it just gives you a warning if you can't that you can bypass, it shouldn't lock you out of the game totally, just the online modes usually.

Sweet stuff, I thought I guess I missed a few of those! Those Gyro horse combos were both incredibly sweet and incredibly bizarre. I wonder if Gyro and Johnny will get more benefits from just staying on Horseback as long as possible.

Lame gameplay, slow speed, broken infinites all over the place.

I'm glad i knew this game was a joke. Even as a random fun game it fails.

The game is plenty fun, it's just that it suffers from the "First game in the series" syndrome. As long as people don't abuse silly stuff (that will be patched sooner or later), it's no worse than any other fighting game.

Haven't unlocked everyone yet, but ACDC feels even more fun than the League matches implied. He's so underrated, it's unfair.

Character Themes

Enjoyed Caesar, Wham, Kira (black hair), and Jolynes the most.

I love them all,but ACDC's has Back in Black mixed in,Both Dio's,Rohan,Pucci,Gappy,even Fatty has a rockin' theme.

I've been wondering if the Part's themselves have themes to them. Watching the most recent trailer you can hear different themes playing when they show different Parts. Theres only like one instance where the theme didn't change. So they may or may not be. Then I thought they were character themes but didnt hear any of them when i listened to the character themes in the video.

All in all, the music for the game is surprisingly very good.

to be honest I still am waiting for someone to post a match with (the player or opponent being) Joseph...and all they freaking do is RUN THE EFF AWAY. :P

Anyone here familiar with kokiga (コキガ)? It's basically a repeated 13 input that basically abuses the game's instant guard system (aka stylish move) that lets you instant guard any attack as long as you have guard meter (you can even cancel your taunt into kokiga!). Currently the only way to deal with this is via throw/command throw. I'll try to find some videos later and edit this post to include them.

EDIT: Couldn't find any tutorial-ish videos, but found some netplay videos of a Kawajiri player using kokiga. Notice the amount of crouch guarding and the frequency of instant guards. http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm21725500

That Narancia was irritating me so much, I had to stop myself from shaking my laptop and yelling "stop spamming grab you troglodyte!" though I was equally annoyed that the Kira kept falling for it, you think he was genuinely just not getting the hint? or maybe the throw break timing is actually that strict in this game?

I've never imported a game before, this one is SERIOUSLY tempting me to though, because I would be shocked if it actually came stateside (incredibly, unbelievably happy, but shocked) and I NEED this in my life, reading 700+ chapters of something will do that to you lol

Speaking on Kira (my prospective main) in particular though, which of the two of them (Yoshikage/Kawajiri ofc) do you guys think will eventually be the better of the two once people really get to sink their teeth into the game? imo Yoshikage looks a lot more gimmicky, the coin bomb seems strictly worse than Kawajiri's air bombs, while I suppose it has a nice arc for use as an oki tool/preemptive ghetto anti-air it looks stupid slow, seems to have a very small hitbox, and is obviously very punishable. Kawajiri looks to have better supers as well, Bites The Dust looks amazing, visually and practically... That's another thing though, what the hell is his GHA? is it an unblockable? It obviously has pretty poor range and is pretty slow on whiff (go to the damn gym Hayato) but I haven't seen anyone block it at close range so far.

My biggest concern for the guy (either of them) is that his projectile game doesn't look anywhere near as scary as Kakyoin/Hol Horse/Abdul/Johnny/Mista but at the same time his rushdown/mixup seems kind of 'meh' too, my guess is that with his bombs he'll end up an oki/vortex style character who just repeatedly mixes up the opponent on wakeup, considering his supers are a counter and an unblockable(?) that would make sense, because otherwise he seems a bit... underwhelming so far (oh well, I'm no stranger to playing low tiers out of character loyalty :P)

Basically, Bowie Kira has better combos, while Kawajiri Kira got better space control. Both of them are also apparently weaker than the competition, but hey, that doesn't stop me from maining Pucci.

I think it's like kaz41 said, the Kira player kept mashing back/down back at some points to get a stylish dodge off of anything Narancia did, so the Narancia player started to wise up and started throwing him in response, since you can't stylish dodge throws. So if anybody's to blame, it's the Kira player for forcing the Narancia player to resort to that.

was able to play some dio yesterday.

- 30fps is really apparent and the game sometimes lags even though the framerate is reduced already.

- his standing LP can be punished on block (!). total duration on whiff about a second (!!) that should already tell you that gameplay based on normals is practically nonexistent, at least for dio. i know there are some exceptions, but thats all they are.

- some of his normals are so slow that they probably have a total duration of 2-3 seconds

- apart from jumpins, normals are useless and serve no purpose, might as well start everything with 2A

- dash can't be canceled, neither into jump or attack, which makes everything feel slow as hell

- his backdash is so terribly slow (no invul) and moves him only a few inches that you might as well jump back.

tl;dr: game as a fighting game sucks, only good for the fan service.
