Ok if someone could help me better understand why mitsuru is S-tier id be very greatful,, all i know is that im not seeing it.

Of IOH jb if its connects regardless of block or hit regardless oh crouching or standing we do not get to continue pressure infact its negative,, we cant even use jc to cancel it, im not seeing her having good mixup either her hi low game outside of her instant OH which you need to rapid to make it useful lockdown is all i see going for her. Her All-out-attack is extreamly slow and even if it does hit we lose oki because of it. An alot of our moves put us at neutral like 46A/B.... please im truly not feeling the S-tier ness of her. Other then her damage i dont see her being top

Mitsuru just has a crazy amount of tools that both place your opponent in a mixup or just to shut down a ridiculous amount of options.

She actually can function as a decent zoner in this game, not just footsies. So if you're playing against Kanji, he doesn't have that many safe options to get past a moving Bufula without putting risk. And at the full screen in general, if you have Bufula out, you can use her D whip not as a combo starter, but to put them in a position closer to the Bufula and almost drag them into the mixup. This gets important against Shadow Labrys as you wanna drag her away from her Persona.

And in the corner, Mitsuru just gets butt-retarded. If you stand at her 5A range and they're cornered and you have 50 meter, they have no escape options that can go unpunished and they are required to somehow mount an offensive against her 5A at ideal range. If they jump, they eat Air Unblockable super for damage. If they roll, you get corner throw into combo. If they Reversal, you'll punish and get a corner Fatal Counter combo. If they mash, you can hit confirm a 5A CH into B Coup for combo damage. You don't need mixups or a high/low game if you get them cornered, and most of her BnB's cover so much ground and push them to the corner that it sucks for them.

Also, regarding corner D Bufula oki, haven't been able to find anything yet. The only thing I got is if you want to sacrifice your ender, you can leave them in a frozen state, summon D Bufula, then go nuts from there.

As far as I can tell, the rule of thumb is to use D Bufula after B Coup ender. I'm in an airport right now, so I can't check, but I assume this is done by charging coup with 1, releasing with 3 and then going to 9 and pressing D.

Is there a rule in Japan that you "must stay on the ground while the opponent is charging B droit" ??? I'm really curious; why do people never jump over it/counter...hell, even in match videos I have seen Naoto doesn't shoot her out of it. I suppose there move properties that i'm not aware of...?

they're probably scared. remember you can not block during 3F startup + the first 5 airborne frames

Does anyone know of mixups after landing a blocked or hit A coup from a 5AAA or 2AAA that forces the opponent to block or else they eat some damage? I was facing a labrys in a few sets and realized her whole pressure game revolves around you not being able to anything but block or else she will hit you. With Mitsu the only thing I have so far is an immediate crossup j.B attempt, but that can be avoided if the opponent jumps. Other than that going into another 5A or 2A is susceptible to a jab.

I am just not a huge fan of Mitsuru's D.

Like... what the fuck am I suppose to do with it?!

Charge B, wait for them to jump, let go. Raw B charge into corner combo hurts. Mid screen, just throw aegis reflector and go for oki.

My question is, how much is it on block? When fully charge, I feel like that shit is +OMGWTF!! I'm guessing different charge time effects the amount of block stun it allows. That, or it's all in my head and people online are just afraid of Mitsu.

Can you specific on the situation? What exactly was going on?

That move is fuckin' amazing.

Outside of combos, someone does a full screen fireball, punish with that move. Seriously, her D is too fuckin' good. Had it been a DP motion, I can understand. But it's one button!??! WTF *vomits*

Hmmmmm...

I'll just practice my timing with punishing shit then. lol

Just sit back and react. A lot of people online can't help but push buttons regardless of the situation. You can punish people for acting stupid full screen simply by hitting D.

i think you mean her C is fucking useless lol

anyway, i'm wondering what do you guys do to punish midscreen opponents? i usually do a 2b - 2d - etc. but the coup droit B doesn't connect at the end so i'm trying to find a better combo. well the coup does connect but it cuts the combo too short for me

Look 2 pages back, we discussed about it when I asked.

C is good to for combos, if trying to optimize. So no, it's not useless. However, I'm confused as to how your B coup isn't working from that combo. You're doing 2B (CH), 2D, D, [4B], B Coup? Or what...?

2b, 2d, d, 4b, 2b, 2d, d, 4b, failed coup

Still -4 on full charge. It's all in their head if they're afraid to move afterward.

Oh shi--, never tried going for 2 4Ds in a combo. Wouldn't it scale too hard?

Does 2B launch even on non-counter hit for grounded opponents? I dunno. Why not try something like 2B (CH), 2D, [6B], Sweep, C Reflector, [6B], Sweep, B Coup (or replace for B/C Reflector for oki). If you happen to reach the corner at the end of B Coup, if you catch them airborne with sweep, you can do:

-- 2B, C Reflector, [4B], Sweep, B Coup for DAMAGE!!

i feel 5D, 2D, j.D all have repeat prorate, so i'd only use one of each per combo.

ah yes i was just thinking about doing something like this before i read your post because i completely forgot you can sweep after a fully charged B. and the fully charged B can be done when opponents get hit by a bufula low enough. thanks my man

That's what I plan on doing for now on.

Chun-Li-style and everything.

I only use C to punish air attacks or continuing combos where the opponent is in the air.

I'm not comfortable with doing it on the ground. lol

full 15 hit 5C seems to only really be used in fatal combos which aren't THAT uncommon thanks to 5B and sweep both being fatals.

otherwise, it's useful for those random 5As you get on standing opponents.

that's true, gives you time to charge that coup

Uses for C attack include: 5C for combos only, usually FC combos, 2C for Marin Karin in order to approach if needed/make your opponent move, and j.C for throw bait set ups.

If you're doing a 2B 2D~D combo, doing another 2D~D is not recommended due to the proration. The best 2B 2D~D combo would be to follow up with [4B] 2AB C Bufula [6B] 2AB B Coup. This also depends on height and timing, so you may not be able to land a C Bufula after sweep. Alternatively after the 2D~D, you can [4B] [2B] into C Bufula if they are deep enough into your [4B] but are too low to land 2AB C Bufula. Hope this helps.

Also found a meterless corner FC combo that does over 5k damage and nets you 72 meter. Should I post it here or the combo thread?

5K? That sounds like a lot.

I think I was playing earlier today and I did something like: [4B] FC, dash up 5B, Sweep, B Coup, 2A, 5B, 2B, 5C (all hits), [4B], Sweep, B Coup, 2B, C Reflector, [4B], B Coup. I think it went something like that.

I DUNNO, WHAT AM I DOING!??!?

SJ, sure post it in the thread, i still have to edit it to add Jyosuas stuff too, working on the wiki as well. Also...since most of the Coup Combos can be near corner and lead to corner....do i actually need the "near corner" section?
