MrPenguinRox Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Anyone have any tips on a newbie? I thought I did pretty well with the likes of blocking in different fighting games but man am I getting wrecked in this one. Got endlessly zoned out when I was playing online yesterday and it was quite annoying. Blocking I think would be a great start for me but I am not exactly sure where to begin looking for correct mechanics on timing and blocking in general. Thanks in advance.
Warhound Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 I'm not sure if it's just that you aren't quite adjusted to blocking here or if it's just you're adjusting to the feel of a new game. But I can understand. Honestly, it just comes down to you getting familiar with the casts' move sets, and how people string them together. You learn the timing for it. But over netcode? I don't know, I haven't been on the PS3's online yet.
Tong Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Yellow Exclamation = Air Unblockable Blue Exclamation = Overhead. Remember, it's blue because the sky is also blue, and so, hits above Green Exclamation = Low. It's green because grass is also green, therefore, hits on the ground.
Narcowski Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 On top of what Tong said, Red Exclamation x2: Unblockable
Siefer Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 I was really tempted to do a troll response to this post, but I've decided not to. Record your matches with the in-game save feature (I'm assuming you're playing online). Watch the matches. Identify the areas where you are getting hit. Note these down. Go into training mode. Use the recording feature and recreate the blockstrings that you got hit by. Figure out how to deal with it (blocking correctly, not jumping out, invincible super, DP, etc.). Just repeat this process and you should be good.
