kaeru Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 I don't know anything about the update, but based on that youtube video alone, the poison nail seems to cause hard knockdown as it once did before. In which case, poison nail relaunches will still be possible, just different (perhaps how they used to be).

Overdrive meter still goes down during OD Asura.

The one I'm playing against spams his Drive a lot Very barren question eh? LOL By the way Hakumen's drives can be blocked now just use Bang's 5A, 5B, 5C and 2D all those on block are jump cancelable. I just entered a con-tournament yesterday on a whim and spent my $3 bucks on it! The players were rather meh so I was able to push my way into 3rd place! Wahoo I got $5 bucks as a prize! But the winner and 2nd were a Hakumen and Carl player I believe I could have beat, the Carl actually spared with me and we traded PSNs afterwards. I was able to be best him once per 10 matched, which is acceptable to me. But that Hakumen knew how to drive man, he would counter everything and we had to spam grabs on him! Both me and the Carl player lost when we would use a Distortion only to have it countered. I learned you can counter Asura and I am not OK with that! Oh well, I'll try the jump back blocking when I get home.

I I usually wind up jumping into some kinda Bug or he runs away out of my reach until I do mess up and hit a bug. What can I use against this slimey bastard?

What can I use against this slimey bastard? The first thing to keep in mind is just to avoid getting cursed as much as possible. Make active efforts to avoid the clouds and wayward bugs. Once cursed, (NOT your go to strategy) try to poke him out BUT ONLY the instant you get cursed before there are any bugs on screen, after that, just try your best to block till it's over. His best damage is off an overhead, just so you know. As for offensive, once on him, stay in him. Use 5A to make sure he stays put after a combo/knockdown. A lot of arakunes like to think that their 5A is the best DP in the game so look out for wakeup mashing. Another thing they like to do is back/ front dash out of your range, since it's invuln on startup, if they're in the corner, give them 5B length of space in case they try to pull a mash 5A or front dash out. I find there's nothing much you can do about air to air, since he has j.4/5B and j.6X (unless you're SUPER comfortable with the timing on j.D), so nails are good for getting/closing some space and to keep him on the ground when need be. Maybe I covered everything, prob not. Ask if I missed anything specific.
