On the plus side, you probably can do this charge-cancel technique after a knockdown or Goukai, considering it pushes opponents away. :eng101:

Was that a LV 3 drill? the one that hits low? If so, that stayed there forever! Unblockable's confirmed, only if the opponent is silly enough to sit still.

Even if the ground drill won't hit, the drill's out long enough to force the opponent to either jump over it and deal with an anti air or sit there until it goes away and block C attacks. His neutral might is sounding amazing to me.

There's sure to be setups where you activate a drill right on their wakeup with the proper combo enders. I can see it forcing neutral tech giving you REAL AND SAFE OKI. This is good. Very good.

Also the good news about the fabhop (Zettou) is that it pretty much acts like an IAD without being one, meaning all you need is a special-cancellable move as opposed to a jump-cancellable move to extend your combo/pressure.

I'm curious to see what his main defensive options will be since he seems to have such a wide variety of offensive options already.

I'm not sure that each and every hit of a lvl 3 drill hits low, probably only a couple of first ones.

This is extremely good. I was worried there wasn't enough jump canceling oppurtunities. I love that Zettou can go fowards or backwards, so we have diverse combo choices depending on the situation.

I hope we can get more info on Spiral drive overheating though. I feel still in the dark about that.

I love this character. I hope Amane brings more salt than all the oceans combined.

A couple new threads are now up. Keep everything posted in those two related to the final release (outside of the loketest vid archive, of course). This thread will continue to act as sort of a data thread in addition to general discussion until the wiki for Amane gets created.

Until then, I anxiously await some arcade footage!

Were there any Amanes on the game-carnival stream? I didn't catch much of it, only got to see the Bullet guy.

Besides the horrible cpu I didn't see any. Was mainly Taokaka, Ragna, Bullet for the majority of the stream.

There's footage in the BBCP Video Thread now. He's mostly getting kicked around by Carl.

His chip damage is just truly outrageous though.

Amane is really fun, but I am really terrible with him. Sadly no one else played him tonight so I couldn't really film any Amane action.

Friday is a day off for me so maybe by then I can do some research on some combos and maybe figure out some way to film myself playing. He's a pretty neat character.

Yeah, I saw the stream this morning, no footage of Amane (no Carl either :( ). Thanks Sheets, I'm really excited for some combos.

In another case, I hate Arakune's spider just by looking at it. No backwards rolls and lazy zoning here.

I'm really looking foward to see AmanevsHazama matches. And Taokaka matches, because IMO, she'll probably be the most annoying character to deal with.

So do we know if the theme playing in those vids was Amane's theme, or maybe a special Amane vs. Carl theme?

I'm leaning towards the first one but you never know.

Yeah, that's certainly the Amane theme, you could also hear it when people were fighting Amane in Arcade mode.

This is exactly the kind of thing I was hoping for. The drill ensured that Amane could safely continue pressure, and had Carl tried to do anything but neutral tech, he would have been hit by the drill and continued into a much more damaging combo (since those few hits beforehand wouldn't have much affect on scaling anyway).

The very first Amane vid to come out already confirms the thing I was hoping for most! :D
