WillWork4Instal Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 (edited) I think I saw a burst punish by Amane in one of the earlier vids. Maybe I can find it~ EDIT: I coudln't find it in the video thread. Anyway, I think he used one of his ground C anti-airs, air burst, and did the same move again lol (Thought he was facing a Jin at the train station, but maybe I'm wrong) Edited November 28, 2012 by WillWork4Instal
Chris Chaos Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 (edited) Amane vs Rachel: 4:00 This match up is gonna be tough, I can just tell by watching this and other matches between these characters http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm19461231 She's probably in the hospital. That stance can't be good for you back. And neither are the size of her breasts. Edited November 28, 2012 by Shinsyn
Eshi Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 Take a look around 7:50. Amane does his OD activation and goes completly through the attack of Jin. OD activation is invincible? Also, dear lord the chip is nasty...yes, everyone's OD works like a blood kain install.
Aloci Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 And neither are the size of her breasts. I refuse to believe that Bullet's breasts are filled with anything but air.
Toasty Posted November 28, 2012 Author Posted November 28, 2012 This thread moves so fast lol. Anyway as far as burst punishes go, I bet we could even punish bursts low to the ground/on the ground with a 2C. Anyone who tries to burst out of Amane's C attacks (or anything at that range) is just asking to get hit with a combo.
Chris Chaos Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 It's as Eshi says, you gain Invul during the activation. Amane players MIGHT have to be careful of moves that are active longer than Jin's 5C because we don't have a solid reversal option so with moves like Ragna's 5B/2C (Dunno how active 5B is in CP but in all the other ones, 5B seems to keep getting better...), we may have to use Seijuu to get an offense going or Instant Block punish whatever they're throwing out. It's not a bad option seeing how in OD, that super get's a very nice buff and we can pick up a combo from it so it works out I guess. Less active moves I wouldn't be too worried about, OD activation appears to have enough invul to get past most normals.
Toasty Posted November 28, 2012 Author Posted November 28, 2012 iirc Ragna's 5B got continually worse ever since CT, though your point about meaties still stands. OD > super should beat them every time at least, just in case you need to make sure you'll be safe.

Aloci Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 6B could be a possibility after an OD activation as well. I'm assuming that it floats over lows and it looks like it's active fairly quickly. I wish we had actual frame data though It's an overhead so I'm sure it's easily stuffed.
Krusiv Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 www.youtube.com/watch?v=0g8nVRVgWQo#t=3m37s Amane vs Tao matchup looks as bad as we thought lol. It doesn't help that Matoi is currently the #1 Tao.
FatalCounter Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 www.youtube.com/watch?v=0g8nVRVgWQo#t=3m37s Amane vs Tao matchup looks as bad as we thought lol. It doesn't help that Matoi is currently the #1 Tao. I have already seen this. That was day 3 of the game, Amane players has improved a lot. Taokaka could be a threat for Amane, but not that much.
Chris Chaos Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 OMG... that was horrible! Not only did Amane get perfected but bowling ball made contact Hariken and 6D and STILL kept going! I know that's the NO. 1 Tao ATM but damn that was free... Amane could not do anything in the corner, when I saw that, I knew it wasn't going to end well. I have already seen this. That was day 3 of the game, Amane players has improved a lot. Taokaka could be a threat for Amane, but not that much. I get where you're coming from but looking at that match, I could tell that even a more superior Amane player would have issues with this character.
DerQ Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 OMG... that was horrible! Not only did Amane get perfected but bowling ball made contact Hariken and 6D and STILL kept going! I may just be wrong about this, isn't it possible the projectile is visible but has not hitbox since it hit the ground drill. Though I may be saying this because I have seen similar behaviours in marvel 3 on strider's projectile/animals
Chris Chaos Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 There is that possibility but in previous games, the bowling ball usually pops off screen when it makes contact with another projectile. I wouldn't trust it.
Aloci Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 tao is a cancer on the universe I thought that was Noel.
Circuitous Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 You guys need to do a better job of controlling your off-topic discussion. Have you considered making a group?
Aloci Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 We're planning on making an Amane Skype group or something similar when CP drops. Or now. I'd be up for making one now.
Chris Chaos Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 Go ahead and make a group. But Circ is right; It's best we avoid any possible derailment of this thread again, it's purpose is to have General Discussion of "Amane's Game play", anything else can be discussed outside this thread. Let's keep it clean from here on out guys.
Toasty Posted November 29, 2012 Author Posted November 29, 2012 My only concern with starting a group at this point is that it might separate where people share legitimate info on Amane, since everything off topic so far has stemmed from actual discussion. With us getting new info just about every day (huge thanks yet again to Bedsheets for getting us so much of that), info added to a group might more easily become lost or would more likely be missed by someone. Something after console release would definitely be in order though.
mAc Chaos Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 tao being the worst thing in the universe is relevant to every BB thread but FINE
Circuitous Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 Couldn't you just, like, not post info to the group? You all seem pretty smart. I'm sure you can handle it. At any rate so long as you keep the thread about Amane I don't really care. Maybe less of the fabulousness, though, unless you intend to keep a lot of compiled info in the OP. It's tricky to find stuff here. I mean you're already up to 52 pages, and none of you can tell me every post in here is worthwhile. I don't wanna crack down on your community, but I want to make sure this thread is useful to people coming in from outside as well.
Toasty Posted November 29, 2012 Author Posted November 29, 2012 I understand your concern, but to use TYG as an example, when the group was formed the Tsu boards themselves were actually getting LESS traffic than before. My concern is that if the rules are too strict, people might feel too intimidated to post (a story I've heard far too often) and their potential contributions go unheard. Now that I think about it, the best bet might be to make an "Amane Gameplay" thread for everything strictly gameplay, so that way things like palettes/wishlist/asking poor Bedsheets for more requests can all stay in this thread without the gameplay info being lost. It seems to be working quite well in the Jin boards at least.

If people get hit up with something for a single post that's Off-topic, they would rather not post anything (Or straight up not visit the forums, which I've seen happen with tons of people) than to have something happen to them again, in their mind: Yeah, I messed up but someone could have PM me instead of docking me. Creating a "Gameplay" thread is probably the best option for now due to the fact that not many of us (probably only Bedsheets) having direct access to the game right now. The Jin boards are very well tamed with it's General thread and frankly, w/o it it was VERY DEAD. In there, we do go off topic here and there but that's a post or two then it's right back to business which is what's been happening here. I'm sure not every single post here is not toward gameplay and development but it goes right back into that after a few post that are off topic. It makes the boards more "friendly" to those on the outside to know "Hey, these guys are serious but having fun at the same time." which is what's been garnering us the attention we have and why so many people are involved in the development in this character. I don't think we could have made the progress we have w/o running things the way we have and it's very effective. We have the most post, and views and probably the most posters overall in this thread contributing information because it's not so strict here. Besides, it's not like it's becoming NVG...
Toasty Posted November 29, 2012 Author Posted November 29, 2012 Very well said, Shin. I can make a gameplay thread if everyone likes the idea. After all it's about everyone here, not just me. :3 Also don't forget to check the combo and video threads, as they are both regularly updated. And speaking of which, I should take a close look at the new vids to see if we have anything new.
