I believe that fuoco's startup can still be interrupted. In past versions, however, and presumably this one, if you do a move with Ada that would consume the rest of her health, it won't be interrupted as long as Ada's not touched (even if Carl gets hit). That probably explains what happened in that video.

I had a feeling that Aina Ashwin wasn't his real name lol.

Considering how there isn't as much footage of Mucchi as there is of other Carl players, you'd be forgiven for not knowing him. Hell, I didn't know about him until the CS2 era and I nearly forgot about him until you brought him up. He is a very good Carl though, I remember that his team made it pretty far in BlueRevo (he entered under Akechi Kokoro in that tournament). IIRC, he was also the one who discovered Carl's ridiculous high damage combos in CS1 and made a few combo videos, most of which are not up anymore unfortunately. #ripjourdal

I don't know how I missed this post before, but thanks for the head's up in him lol. I totally hadn't heard his name til this. Do you know if any Carls made it into Arc Revo? I'm not sure what the status is on that. I know that they're still doing qualifiers but I don't know how many people actually have spots and whatnot.

I suppose that they are still doing qualifiers... Until now he is the only Carl player that manage to qual, i hope to see Acho Carl players enter to the tournament.......... Kyaku!!!! plz come back!!!

Kyaku's never putting on those boy shorts again. Chinese steam buns too strong.

Last night, there was a qualifier where a Carl player, Nagakura, got a silver ticket to qualify for the gold ticket/block finals. Nagakura then lost to Mame's Tao, who ended up winning the block finals. As of now, the character count for the national finals are:

- 2 Taos

- 1 Hakumen

- 1 Mu

- 1 Litchi

There's still plenty of qualifiers left. I'd be very surprised if no Carls made the national final.

but then again, I must be a boss player to never have Ada dying on me soo much :cool:

Re: Kyaku, that really sucks. I thought the leave would be temporary.

I really hope that at least one Carl and/or Relius makes it in. I wanna watch the tourney (assuming that I can watch the stream) and it would be more interesting if I were watching characters that I liked lol. Thanks for the summary :P

I'll probably be asking you for an update again later since I find it hard to keep up when I have other stuff going on.

How do you guys feel Carl is doing within CP? The loss of Unblockables is a shame, but do you guys still think he is a strong character if the work is put in?

I ask this as I want a friend to begin to learn Carl and understand him ready for CP.

he's good, but one thing that Ryuusei (a crazy japanese CS Extend Carl player) said was he has weaknesses that made him less good

to answer your question, he is good in CP but he is meter dependent (25% for more than 3k)

he is still a strong character in the game though

He actually still has his UBs, they just can't be looped anymore. Although I don't see Carl making S-tier, he still looks to be strong in CP. If your friend wants to learn Carl, now wouldn't be a bad time to start since most of the Carl experience will transfer easily to CP.

Actually, he didn't lose unblockables... in fact now is more easy to setup it. What he did loose, is the ability of doing UB loops. Even so, 6C full charged UB is better than his version on EXT. I want to see a Japanese using that UB and follow it with the j.B+3]D[ UB.

Is true that Carl is more meter dependent, but im stating to like Carl dmg on CP... It look that his Dmg is better than in ext. You can deal 5.5k after an Ub with CT, in Ext you can do the same but you need 1 full meter, Anima crossup deal the same amount of dmg with just only 25%.

Is funny because now, the damaging combos, are very similar to the old j2.C~Allecancel combos... For example, Crush Trigger, full 6C, terenezza, j2.C~Allecancel, 5C, Brio, etc, etc.

What i don't like is the lack of nirvana gauge AND! losing the ability to lift the opponent with 6A when they are in standing position..... ah! and Cantabille losing the ability to doing solo combos really hurt a lot.

For some reason, i have the idea that his Nirvana gauge is not so much less compared to Ext nirvana gauge... But the fact that you cant do solo combos, make you waste more gauge. Think about it, in ext you can do a combo like this:

5B, Cantabille, 5C, j.B, j.B, j2.C, j.B, j.C, Volante, etc, etc

Okey? Well, during that moment you are not using Nirvana... So that mean that you are letting her rest and!! resetting the continuation cost, optimizing a lot the consume of Nirvana gauge... Maybe that is the weakness that Ryuseei is referring. It cant be his dmg, because now Japanese are starting to do the new long combos and his dmg seem to be very high.

Still... i miss Kyaku! plz come back to being a Carl player. Has anybody seeing him playing with lichi?

am I the only one whos accidentally attempts CP combos in EX?

the other day I did 3C into fermatta

talk about a waste <_<

OH, and who can forget 4D

I dont"t even move after it hits anymore because I keep thinking the opponent will fly upwards, and I 6C instead lol

I forget that it smacks the across the screen

*sigh*, so ready for CP Carl

You'll be better off than those who still have EX combos firmly ingrained into their muscle memory during day 1 :P

In other news, Kurushii's mook got delivered to him and he has uploaded the frame data on it. I'll update you guys on some of Carl's changes sometime tomorrow, if not tonight (I'm not allowed to link the scans to the public).

Tenerezza has 31f startup not counting activation startup

3) Funny how I thought this move would be worse, but JC makes it become gdlk for corner blockstrings

7) hmmm, I wanna say that the Tao matches did make brio look like it was slightly slow, but a 7 frame slowdown is hard to see visually

They didn't do anything to the startup of 5B (9f) so it can still be used as our fast but short ranged "poke". It'll still be safe if you cancel into 5C on block and jump/IAD away or whatever. IMO, the changes in Carl's frame data aren't extreme to the point where this new found knowledge will change the way anyone will play Carl. 5A/2A's increased blockstun is kinda nice though.

Keep in mind that I'm only reporting the numbers; there are some notes in the frame data that I can't read due to my inability to understand Japanese.

this looks like one of the best Carl gimmicks I've seen so far (Ito did this on otoko and it was pretty nasty)

That move is too OP, old Cantabile would of made Carl more of a threat than a good Tao

btw, I have a hunch that the vortex is dp safe, and you can probably improvise some anti-air tech as well

Mmmm... let see, now our continuation cost is only 10%, way less than EXT. BUT we consume more gauge using Nirvana. For example 2]D[ in EXT have 720 usage cost and now is CP is 1.000. That and the lack of solo combos is the reason why our gauge seem to be shorter, in fact we have the same amount of Nirvana gauge in comparison to EXT, 10.000 point.

In term of dmg, it seem that 2]D[ and 8]D[ were nerfed quite a bit... now deal less dmg and have worse proration.

6C lv2 and lv3 have 110% bonus proration! that is nice!! and fuuoco have wall bounce if all hit connect, kinda weeird... but maybe will have his uses.

Volante dmg buffed! yay!!!

It seems that our most damaging midscreen combo path atm is [stuff...], 5C, 623D, sj.B, JC, j.B, j.C, 421D, ender. You can get at least meterless 3.5k from several different starters w/that path so even without 2D and 8D, we can still do damaging combos.

Charged 6C having bonus proration is going to lead into hilarious damage. Hopefully the 623C, RC, fuoco, 6C UB setup still works in CP.

On another note, I'm going to be pretty busy within these next two weeks so the updates in the video thread might be a bit slow for a while. Although you guys have absolutely no obligation to do so, I'll be very grateful towards anyone who helps with the video thread :3
