Xeno Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 Do counter-hits cause a long-term "stun", or is their extra frame stun only applicable to the next move that hits?
Digital Watches Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 Do counter-hits cause a long-term "stun", or is their extra frame stun only applicable to the next move that hits? Er... wha? Hitstun only applies from the last move that hit you, so it doesn't stack up, counterhit or not.
RedBeard Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 Basically for Counterhits... They cause extra "stun" meter for the dizzy guage. I forget the specific modifier. There is additional hit stun ONLY for the move, or part of that move, that connected as a CH. The amount of additional hitstun generally depends on the attack level of the move, though there are special exceptions noted in the framedata. As an example, if I CH you with the first hit of Axl's 2H, the second hit of it is completely unaffected by the CH properties of the first hit. Counterhits also increase hit stop by a certain number of frames, not sure if the exact amount, and I believe it's dependant on the attack level. I could have forgotten something, not sure.

低姿勢 Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 Just to say not all moves are created equal nor the moves that are causing the counter hit. So frame data can be misleading. Certain moves will actually cause less stun if you them out of it then normal, or do less damage yadda... yadda............. yadda.
rtl42 Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 right, i should've added you should read frame data comments as well, just to be sure.
低姿勢 Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 Umm I ment to say to give a example.. I do stand p.. You stand hs counter hit me. I do stand hs, you stand hs counter hit me. The stun is not necessarily the same duh. Frame data does not have all the random here and there moves that dont follow 'normal' rules to say. Some moves you can attack and be counter hit out of them and they wont stun you at all as a matter of fact basicly. Then again I never would've imagined something like this would be questioned. hmmm
ky0n01 Posted April 12, 2008 Posted April 12, 2008 Do counter-hits cause a long-term "stun", or is their extra frame stun only applicable to the next move that hits? it causes longterm stun or unrecoverable frames. the frame data has the number of frames for every move.
Xeno Posted April 28, 2008 Author Posted April 28, 2008 Ok, so if you hit with a counter hit with Hard Slash, then RC that into 5P, will the opponent be stunned for a shorter time then if you had not hit them with 5P?
excelence Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 the hit stun of character will be cancelled as the newer attack connect, i can't say it'll be shorter but at first the target was in hs hit stun ch state, but when u connect with 5p, the target will cancel the hs hit stun ch state and change it into 5p hit stun state
