No Guilty Gear Main

For my opening statement: I feel like I might get shot for asking this, but here goes nothing (well more like something, but what ev's).

Okies, I find myself in an odd position with respect to Guilty Gear. For some reason, none of the characters "feel right" to me, if that makes sense. I've played through the entire cast of the game but nothing really "grabs me" or speaks out at me. In Blazblue I was instantly attracted to both Carl and Relius, with a side of Tager. In P4A I practically fell in love with Elizabeth and Kanji, but also siding Mitsuru. Yet when I try out this cast, it just feels meh. Nothing really jumps out at me, saying "Oh wow, I really like this!!!" or something along that line.

In short is it possible to have no likes for the roster or am I just over thinking things too much?

Chances are, you don't understand Guilty Gear's system well enough to even know what to look for in a character. And that's fine! Most people don't when they first start playing.

Go watch the Guilty Bits videos on YouTube to get an idea of how each character is supposed to be played. That should help give you some perspective for the next time you play.

I've watched some of those videos, but for some reason they all look the same. Nothing jumps out as unique to me. Relius did because he was different than the usual puppets, Kanji did because he was not like the other grapplers (even Tager). Although I will say I mained Elizabeth just because I liked her originally and after wards ended up liking how she plays.

I would basically agree with what qwerty said. The characters in GG are wildly unique, there's a character (or two, or three...) that suits every individual's playstyle. If you can't spot the differences, it's because you're not familiar enough with the game. It seems like you're just trying to spot cosmetic stuff, but instead you should be spending time learning a character's options and maybe reading their guide/wiki page before you understand what they're all about.

Okies, after some testing I have found Anji to be my favorite. I saw some matches from a player called Domi, and I loved what I saw. Not to mention he has dual fans as weapons, which is just awesome!

Have fun with Anji. He is the prettiest character in Guilty Gear. :P He is also ridiculously fun to play. I love autoguard.
