Clousephinat Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 She is not my type..but.. regarding here design..i don't feel it has the uniqueness like other character designed by Daisuke ..why ?? because she reminds me : That's like saying Sol reminds me of Cloud because both have huge swords, or I-No reminds me of Sonia because both use a guitar as a weapon.
Mumm-Ra Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 They should get rid of the hat and she'd look way better imo. Still, cute chick with guns is okay I guess, hopefully she isn't anything like noel character-wise, more like Mami from Madoka or something. Getting real tired of these retarded uguu~ moeblobs.
zaeris Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 I understand adding in new characters doesn't mean they won't be adding in older characters but it seems they have different priority instead. should I be worried? lol maybe worst they will add more cutesy characters.
Aze Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Guns and that dress make me think that the USA level will be hers, shared with Sol. She has a very southern bell vibe to her (if it weren't for that hat). Her personality and playstyle might be redeeming.
king of heart Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Judging from her hair and eye color i think she is another Aria clone.
BladeOfJustice7 Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 She's fine, ever since the conception of BB. Everyone has been extra critical for all of Daisuke's character designs lol. Sin's RTL looks nuts, and it all looks bigger than Ky's. Curious to see if he dashes in spurts like in Overture or not. if not, how will it differ from Ky's RTL in terms of functionality.
Poultrygeist Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 I dunno why everyone has a problem with this type of character now and not 10-so years ago when May, Bridget, etc. first started popping up. I like Guilty Gear's characters but they aren't all a bunch of serious edgy badasses like some of you seem to like to say.
king of heart Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 El's voice actress:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AHUU8LmnLiw#t=26
9:02 PM Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 You people are crazy. I think she looks fantastic, and gun play characters more often than not lead to really interesting and dynamic gameplay. Think Luna from Vanguard Princess and keep your fingers crossed. It's also something GG has never done before. I for one would much rather see the team flex their creative muscle and show us something new, which is exactly what they're doing.
BladeOfJustice7 Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 I dunno why everyone has a problem with this type of character now and not 10-so years ago when May, Bridget, etc. first started popping up. I like Guilty Gear's characters but they aren't all a bunch of serious edgy badasses like some of you seem to like to say. It's not just Elffie, even Bedman people were complaining about. And also Ramlethal too if I remember correctly. There's only a handful of seriously edgy badasses in the game lol.
Poultrygeist Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 It's also something GG has never done before. I for one would much rather see the team flex their creative muscle and show us something new, which is exactly what they're doing. YES, EXACTLY, THANK YOU. Even if you don't like the way this character looks (I'm neutral but it's not like "uguuu cute girl" is a new thing for GG AT ALL) she's bringing a fighting style that has never been seen before int his series. Hell for a series as fucked up and wild as GG is it's kind of strange to think that there's not been a single character with a focus on firearms until now. It's not just Elffie, even Bedman people were complaining about. And also Ramlethal too if I remember correctly. There's only a handful of seriously edgy badasses in the game lol. I have no idea how anyone wanting "serious" characters can have a problem with anime Freddy Krueger let alone call him a BB character. I guess "looks like a Blazblue character" is the Guilty Gear fan's version of saying a Pokemon looks like a Digimon.
Garuda Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 I'm glad Elfelt is playable. Guns and Roses, I love it.
Lynxfort Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 That's like saying Sol reminds me of Cloud because both have huge swords, or I-No reminds me of Sonia because both use a guitar as a weapon. please note 1- Both are wearing white. 2- Using Guns. 3- Did you notice the 2 roses on her hair ?? and the hair color..is relatively close
Aze Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 I dunno why everyone has a problem with this type of character now and not 10-so years ago when May, Bridget, etc. first started popping up. I like Guilty Gear's characters but they aren't all a bunch of serious edgy badasses like some of you seem to like to say. May seems to fit the badass scheme with the giant weapon and pirate theme. Bridget is just off the wall in every way, design wise. Bedman fits into everything more than people are giving him credit for since he seems to follow the same off the wall design as bridget, but with a mechanical terror theme. I think people are just complaining about El because she's, as far as we know, nothing more than a pretty face with bunny ears and guns. The women of Guilty Gear feel like a lot more than just pretty faces that pander to waifu types. Dizzy is the closest thing to one, but her story and extreme angel/demon design sets her apart a bit. I'm withholding judgement until I see the bigger picture, but I'd love to see some new female characters that follow designs closer to Baiken or Millia if any more get added. El's gun mechanics will probably have me maining her.
Suzaku Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 She's definitely another Valentine clone, given the hat and girl's fashion theme (looks like a bridal motif to me). And it's obviously a nod to Guns N' Roses, too. It says that she and Sin will be playable at TGS, and it has their movelists (which are obviously too small to read). From what I can tell, it looks like she has two "stance" moves, which both have various follow up options. I'd guess one is to draw/aim her little handgun and the other is to draw/aim her rifle.
king of heart Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 For me i started to like her for various reasons: she has a voluptuous body and not some underage loli shit. she is probably an Aria clone that's why Sol got angry and tried to hurt her when he saw her face and that gives her a deep rule in the story, i mean she could be a legit Valintine unlike Ramlathal. She has Mako's voice.
Jocelot Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Forget Noel and Petra, I want Elfelt to play like Cable!
Diveman Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Interesting design and playstyle. I think this is the first time a "shooting" character has been made into GG right? we have v-13/lambda in BB and Yukari in Persona but I dont think GG has ever had something like that. Either way she looks great and I can't wait to see her in action at TGS
Chainsaw Guitar Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Hahaha, oh lord I can't believe I didn't see that one coming. The pretty girl with roses on her outfit will be a gun user! That's rich. And suddenly, titties! I didn't see that cleavage before in the initial scans. This character only gets better and better.
Calamitus Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Kawaii girlies strike once again, huh... Well, whatever. *continues to hope for boss-character reveal*
Jocelot Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 So she's post launch DLC? I guess it would be too much to ask to see her in action with Sin at TGS, huh?
Suzaku Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 So she's post launch DLC? I guess it would be too much to ask to see her in action with Sin at TGS, huh? Like I said earlier, they're both playable at TGS. That's why it has their movelists.
D.R.F. Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 She fights with a rifle and a shotgun and she is in a DRESS. How can I not like this lmao. Sounds so godlike as long as it doesnt turn into noel
ninjay Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 So she's post launch DLC? I guess it would be too much to ask to see her in action with Sin at TGS, huh? This article says she will be playable at TGS. I am looking forward to see the aiming and reloading mechanics. http://shoryuken.com/2014/09/02/firearm-wielder-elfeldt-joining-the-cast-of-guilty-gear-xrd-sign-on-consoles/
RurouniLoneWolf Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 So she's post launch DLC? I guess it would be too much to ask to see her in action with Sin at TGS, huh? She comes with preorders so technically she's available at launch. Also as Suzaku said above, she's playable at TGS. Hopefully we get a ton of impressions on both characters
