So what is Sol's role in the story? I think I've heard about everyone's part except his.

Ky, Sol and Sin are the cast from Two and a Half Men. Sol is Charlie.

He's the only person powerful enough to execute some plans, but he also seems to want to help save the World even if it affects his primary mission (and it does). But due to how the story works, he's not that often in the spotlight. He mostly just shits on everyone and Ky keeps telling him to open up.

It may be a bit complicated but . . .

If there's a problem, Sol punches it. If its a complicated problem, That Man or Dr. Paradigm explains where Sol should punch it, and then Sol punches it.

And there's some sad back story about Aria being a cute science girl and the only one with the ability to get through to Fred's messed up heart. HE'S A SAD SOLDIER!

Going back to this, I tried to wrap my head around it now that I have the game, and I kinda wish I didn't. "Lucy and Woof of Life Amusing" is a story about a girl getting a toy dog as a present, going crazy because it's way too creepy, being put in a hospital and burning it down in a fit of psychotic frenzy. Also, moths (who symbolize dreams and concealment). There might be some more subtle layers to the story, since the first half of it goes over a few different scenes pretty quickly, but it's disturbing enough as it is. Who would've thought that something like this could be just a background on one of many different stages in a fighting game.

It's okay, I don't need to sleep, I got Xrd.

I actually sat through all the visuals of the monitor, here's my two cents on it.  There doesn't seem to be any actual predetermined order to the scenes, this is just me piecing them together.

Girl gets doll, girl is severely freaked out by doll.  Doll goes insane and butchers people outside in the hallway.  Girl looks through the lock on her door to see the doll manifested at some anthropomorphic Fredd Krueger monstrosity.  My take is that it's literally someone's nightmare, that's why it's chaotic and makes no sense.  The name of the stage is Nightmare Theater so who knows, someone's nightmares probably shows like a movie on that screen.

Man, GG stages always make you think don't they?

I like how one can see I-no's old stage in the distance of her current one on the very far right.

Story mode is really good so far. Dubs actually pretty good too....

I always wanted them to add Gabriel, now they need to add him after that scene.

I just spoiled myself with the webms. Gabriel shouldn't be that cool if he's unplayable. Seriously, I would take Gabriel over Leo anyday (we already have enough sword people, we already have a cocky blonde guy that is connected to Ky, we already have a character with 2 big swords, kinda redundant)

Also, from what I've read Bedman manages to mess up That Man and Slayer but has trouble with Johnny and Leo? I know I shouldn't be expecting a sophisticated well-written masterpiece from an ASW games, but WAT. Also, I wish they would have made Sol a little smarter. Wasn't Sol a scientist and created the weapons that humanity used to fight Gears?

At least now there's no excuse to not have Johnny and Dizzy in the next Xrd a year and a half from now. :DI:

Your brain tends to degrade after a long amount of time. Even if you are an ageless, borderline immortal, killing machine who can turn into a flaming dragon. This is actually one of the popular depictions of characters with exceedingly long age. The brain can only store up so much information before it starts replacing the old with the new. Anger and revenge may also have driven him to the point of forsaking his past incarnation as Frederick and in order to distance himself from that past, basically rebuilt his demeanor and personality to the opposite.

Mind PMing me a link to those webms?

I second this.

By the way I was under the impression that "That Man" was evil or at least an antagonist. Is he a good guy then? Seems like he's helping the heroes quite a bit.

I can't believe this dude has been this badass this whole time. We need playable Gabe in Xrd 2! Just give him a few more belt buckles and scribble some words on his clothes and he's set

Gabriel has always been a badass dude. In one of the side-materials he sent a group of would-be assassins flying through a building while still sitting down, filing his paperwork. And lest we forget, this IS the man who successfully took over Zepp in a revolutionary reform. He's also got a mean 'stache. And we all know that in anime, mustached men are badass by default.

Fair 'nuff dude, I haven't played much of the past GG's story modes so seeing Gabriel in action kicking ass was new to me. Before that I always just saw him as that short military dude who fell from the sky in Potemkin's victory pose, lol.

See now this is where you are wrong my friend. Gabriel doesn't "fall" down to the ground. Oh no. He jumps from the Zepp capital (which is several thousand feet in the sky) and lands like a boss to personally congratulate Potemkin on his victory while simultaneously telling the laws of physics, gravity and common sense to go cry in a corner.

Well alright, maybe not but considering what he just did to Bedman would you question his ability to do so?

That Man's motives have always been rather hazy. Though things seem to be getting clearer.

What was he talking about after the "Justice being activated and going to Japan" flashback? It sounds like he has some kind of plan involving Aria.

Although I love a good ERB reference, don't go comparing the god Gabe to that Nazi scum!

Plus, I got more of a Russian vibe off the Zepp nation then German imo.

Yea, I always thought it was kinda funny how seems like a generic designed npc but is probably one of the strongest characters. lol

He actually looks like M.Bison with those open eyes though.

Please don't post direct links to 4chan, it deletes hosted files in less than a week. Better reupload it somewhere else so it doesn't get lost.

Since I ended up posting here, I'd like to take a moment to say how much I appreciate Eddie becoming an actual character. I just love the contrast between Zato's lack of emotions and Eddie's sarcastic remarks (even during the actual fights!). If you have ever read the Bartimaeus books, that's the feeling I get here. Though since he can actually talk now, I'm not sure why they kept the monstrous grunts that he makes when you summon him. Maybe just so players don't have to get used to new audio cues?

Oh, and I love that Faust says MUDAMUDAMUDAMUDA after winning against Zato. I think I don't have to explain why.

Finally beat the story mode, I'm shocked, it was simply amazing, the pace, how well the story was told, no much BS, filler or making it complicated for the sake of it, but still a deep story. A million thanks to ASW for keeping the library in english, there is so much info there.

A question about Dizzy.

-About Dizzy, if I remember well the reason why they used thunderseal to seal her was because he was disappearing in GG2, what happen with that exactly?. I mean, did Dr.P figure how to stop her from banishing? or it was something that was "cured" by her being frozen all this time?. The reunion was one of the best moments in the game in my opinion.

Slayer mentioned many times that Gabriel was the ONLY person that forced him to use his true power and therefore his only real rival in combat, so actually Xrd showing us finally how badass Gabriel really is it was required sooner or later.

That Man has never been evil and he's still the main antagonist, but it's true that now it feels like no one is actually really evil in GG, I-No and Bedman were at first like that too until later, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.
