I do see the probability of a replay of Blazblue's past few endings though. Elph is standing in for Tsubaki as the girl they must save from the villains and there's some mind control stuff too. Aria will somehow be back as the cheery Celica type as the true love interest who shouldn't be around and yet there she is. And just when everything seems wrapped up, Sol's Dragon Install finally goes out of control like they've been hinting at for years and sets up the next big cliffhanger.
deadite Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 I actually think that Aria won't be back in any physical way unless through a Valentine or as a spirit. El's characterization and responses to questions posed to her all mirror Aria's responses in flashbacks. Aria and El wanted the same things in life. When El "rescued" Sol from getting consumed by the Backyard she said she didn't want Sol to be alone, mirroring the flasback when Fred learns of Aria's TP infection. When Sol asked El why she even cares about a world she knows little about, she responded in a very Aria way; "You guys ARE my world and I don't want to lose that" I think deep down Sol became more and more impressed by El. Time again Sol is proven wrong. So when El succumbed to her programming, Sol actually gave a damn, something he reserves for quite a few things. One's "world" seems to be a recurring theme which President Chipp Zanuff skilfully articulates to May. I'm a sucker for Thematic repetitions and Xrd surprisingly has loads of it. Other examples include: Sin telling Sol he lives in a small world(Sol is visually affected by this comment) Fred talking about becoming something different entirely is similar to death whereas the Conclave promise to meet each other in the "next life" Flashbacks talking about how new experiences is part of the human condition and then Chronus talking about how new experiences give life meaning.
Shinhwa Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 I have a question regarding the Arcade mode...Are all the fights with Ramlethrl canon...? I mean it sounds like Ramlethrl ran to every single characters every time they appeared in her location except the Cradle absorbing people of Babylon should have only happened once...I can see Sol's Arcade mode being canon as that got led to the Story Mode Chapter 1, but what about the others...?

Maybe she beat the other characters (like May) during that 1 week and the babylon stuff that happened after only happened for the Sol ending or something...

In everyone's arcade babylon succumbs to the cradle. It would make no sense for it to be destroyed multiple times

SoWL Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 Whenever I think about Delilah, I remember those Bedman silhouette guesses that made him a little girl rather than a boy. While I don't expect her to be a literal Bedgirl, I wouldn't be surprised if she is.

Oddly enough, Dizzy & Justice have the same voice now, which is new since in the XX games Justice had April's voice. It could mean nothing since Justice only does creepy monster yells in the story. If Dizzy and Justice have the same VA now..what if Dizzy is like Kadaj from FF7 Advent Children?

That's one of my theories that I hope is not true but it's not because of the VA. In the Japanese dub of Overture, Dr. Paradigm called Dizzy a "backup of Justice." In the English version, it was changed to "reproduction." Dizzy is really mysterious. The magic rings in her sprite has a gear symbol, an Outrage symbol and her name. Then she's stated to be half-Gear.

The translators probably chose "reproduction" as a clever double meaning to keep things vague as to exactly how Dizzy came into being. But Ky just calls her "a child of Justice" in Xrd, so who knows. Dizzy & Justice share VAs, but Justice herself has no dialogue beyond yelling noises so I wouldn't read too much into it. Maybe Daisuke just wanted to give her more lines since Dizzy only really has a few short scenes?

SoWL Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 I like Dizzy's new looks and hope she gets it without any sort of battle transformation like before. I just think it makes sense for her to dress a little bit more classy now that she's a mother and a first lady. Then again, it might be difficult for her to use her wings as weapons in those clothes. Zappa, Bridget and Jam all seem close enough to their old looks for me to not care that much about it.

Zappa is actually a beautiful dude in Vastedge for the first time (I'm still not sure whether it's a good or a bad thing though), and I wasn't surprised about Bridget's gender at any point to be honest, but his short hair in Vastedge makes it seem even more like a boy than before.

The only main WTF? parts to me were the Assassins getting lolpwned and Bedman somehow escaping Zepp custody. Other than that, a few awkward pauses in the automatic continuation feature, and a couple of sparse awkwardly delivered lines, I really enjoyed it. But, it would've made my year if Major Lyle had yelled "LEEEEEEEROOOYYYY JENKINS!!!" before attacking the Cradle. Because, that's basically what it was. Also, I saw someone mention randomly that Bedman's sister Delilah may be the girl who died under Faust's care. I haven't seen the win quote yet (I don't really use Faust or Bedman), but apparently Faust says that he looks like her if he beats Bedman. That would be an interesting thing that they could throw in down the line if it's true. It would also give more meaning to the "We could never be friends" line that the Bedman announcer has when selecting Faust. Can someone confirm the Faust vs. Bedman win quote? (I'm at work, right now.)

Well, Bedman's IK is supposed to make you relive the worst parts of your past regardless of the character. If there's no connection, that's fine. It'd add a cool layer though.
