So I scored a Madkatz Tatsunoko vs Capcom Wii stick really cheap off ebay. I put in a Sanwa octagonal gate which fit perfectly, which led me to think the stick is a Sanwa clone.

Then I got this PCB

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/100-ZD-USB-Encoder-PS2-PS3-PC-to-Joystick-for-MAME-Arcade-Fight-Stick-Control-/171017583391

so as to turn this into a PS3 or PC stick.

Well, the buttons work but it seems the chinese PCB has the stick directions set up differently so that up gives me right, etc. . . plugging the stick 5-pin connector cable the other way around didn't help.

The chinese guys say the PCB is compatible with Sanwa sticks....

Is there anyway I can make this work or should I ask for a refund?

If you're really feeling gutsy, you can cut off the 5 pin connector and put on a new one with the wires ordered correctly. It shouldn't be too hard to figure out which is which. This isn't quite "entry level" stick modding anymore, but it's not -hard-.

Thanks bro, I figured out as soon as I posted , that is what I'll have to do... I was hoping somebody has been there already and knows how to re-order the wires. I guess I'm gonna have to work it out by trial and error.

It is actually possible to push out the wires from the 5-pin plug by pushing the metal socket with a pointy tool, and then re-insert them. Not exactly how I like to spend my time, but it'll be eventually worth it, the stick is nice.
