TekkamanArk Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 What's wrong with SRW games? They're usually a lot of fun. As for Sega characters, I agree on Vectorman, End of Eternity, and Ryo from Shenmue. VF characters would be fun, i'd like to see some Dragon Force and Shining Force characters, Shinobi's playable character (pretty sure it changes each time, so i'm not really picking any specific one), and some Streets of Rage characters (hoping for Roo).
Betto Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 End of Eternity you say?? Put Vashyron in the spotlight this time or even make Sullivan playable The Hero Action thing from EoE would be a pretty interesting mechanic to have too so I'm all for that
InWithTheAshes Posted September 21, 2013 Author Posted September 21, 2013 (edited) Viewing it again, I don't really think they'll be many Sega Characters, if at all: Maybe just one or so from Valkyria, because of the stage and the fact that, unlike most Sega properties, it would actually fit in with the majority of Dengeki's, but no more. Mainly due towards the fact that it's being advertised, at least currently, as solely a Dengeki project: If they were going to put much emphasis on Sega inclusions, they would probably have included that in the title, or at least some visual promotional material. TPPR10 Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 I agree. I can only maybe see one Sega character to be put into the game, just because they are the publisher-
Hecatom Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 I have to say that i am surprised that is 2d, considering how they went very anal about 2d games after HnK
InWithTheAshes Posted September 21, 2013 Author Posted September 21, 2013 (edited) There's an article from ANN here stating that there is a loketest intended for the sixth of October in Akihabara, with more Characters being shown. Edited September 21, 2013 by InWithTheAshes
SoWL Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 Yeah, that's what it says on the official website
SolxBaiken Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 I'd be very disappointed if there wasn't more inclusion of Sega elements since in their info-graphic card it states that Fighting Climax is supposed to be a "Dengeki vs Sega" project, not "Dengeki x Sega". What's wrong with SRW games? Absolutely nothing, I'm just saying that if retelling stories was a gripe of CoV then that's silly since SRW does it all the time. I imported the original CoV and I enjoyed it for its purpose of fanservice. If we get down into "is it a good game" then yes, I'm just going to bring up SRW [a series which is pretty much the sole blueprint for crossover RPGs] again but just leave it at that lol.
InWithTheAshes Posted September 21, 2013 Author Posted September 21, 2013 (edited) My point was that they haven't really advertised such inclusions, at least not yet. Just looking at the title: There's only the Dengeki logo there. It was also made specifically for the publishing company's 20th anniversary, so I really wouldn't be surprised if it was majorly their content. And I may just not be aware of some Japanese video game terminology here, but I don't really see there being any difference between "Dengeki Vs. Sega" and "Dengeki X Sega". Both to me just seem like stating the collaboration, not indicating the content to be included. Yeah, that's what it says on the official website ... I didn't know. ;_; Edited September 21, 2013 by InWithTheAshes
InWithTheAshes Posted September 21, 2013 Author Posted September 21, 2013 (edited) Some things from the small amount of footage we saw: Assist cancels are available and, as of now, take one bar. The assists themselves also seem to have a unique cooldown, although it may only apply to cancels. There seems to be a rather quick automatic meter gain, which halts for some time after using a metered ability (both Characters have it available to begin, before Asuna uses an assist cancel and it stops on her side). The icons above the meter seem to be used for a form of buff. Edited September 21, 2013 by InWithTheAshes
F. Wily Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 Sprites look like made by Frenchbread. I noticed that, and after a bit of review there are similarities to the sprite work Which is weird to me, because arn't FB busy trying to make UNI not shitty?
iw2ma Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 s-CRY-ed, Index, Accel World, Asura Cryin, Baccano, Durarara, Dokuro-chan, Figure 17, Fafner, Dokkoida, Sakura Wars, Gunparade March, Growlanser, Horizon, UFO no Natsu, Kino's Journey, Ookami-san, Please Teacher, Spice and Wolf, Nanatsuiro Drops, Toradora, Kashimashi, Wagaya no Oinari-sama, Ultimate Girls............. so much anime they could add, and this is just the supernatural/action anime i could think of i know they make. God i love crossover fighters.....
RurouniLoneWolf Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 This game had me at Shakugan no Shana. Hopefully, it gets a PS3 release and we hear more about it in this week's Famitsu.
Blackwolfos Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 Isn't Atlus owned by Sega now? If so, couldn't we see some Shin Megami Tensei and/or Persona characters? (I want Maya from Persona 2.) Even so, with Shana in this game I probably won't play anyone else If this comes to ps3.
caiooa Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 I noticed that, and after a bit of review there are similarities to the sprite work Which is weird to me, because arn't FB busy trying to make UNI not shitty? saw mauve and kilvear saying the same in twitter. I do see similarities in body proportions, but i`m still not sure...they looked like 3D in move, as if they used pre-rendered. Maybe not pure 3D screenshots as koihime, but 3D model with details added manually (like kof XIII)? Let's see at the beta. Uni update was already release a month ago, adding hitstun prorate and new character. Even if they are supposed to be working in a port for ps3, people that worked in pixel art would be free...

However Dengeki also did the manga for Persona 2, and the also did a manga for Tales of Xillia lol. lots of little things we could have.

The battle system in that game already feels like a fighter, and with the "link" system it would work perfectly, but that seems like hoping for too much. Either way I'm really looking forward to what they do with this game as it has so much potential.

TekkamanArk Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 Unfortunately, I see Durarara characters getting in this. Possibly the worst show i've seen.
Tokkan Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 Unfortunately, I see Durarara characters getting in this. Possibly the worst show i've seen. ... You've made a lot of enemies, today.
Chaoschao222 Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 Unfortunately, I see Durarara characters getting in this. Possibly the worst show i've seen. Well it was certainly popular, regardless of your personal feelings for it, so yeah, that wouldn't be surprising.
SolxBaiken Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 Unfortunately, I see Durarara characters getting in this. Possibly the worst show i've seen. Dude, I hate EVERYTHING and not even I disliked DRRR. To bad Shizuo won't make it into the game because Celty orz not that she's a bad choice, but I wanna see Shizuo smash moe skulls with lamp posts .o.

I don't know... The ShizuoxIzaya fanship is pretty damn popular. I could easily see Shizuo being the Durarara!! rep with an Izaya assist.
JetKinen Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 >No Hataraku Maou-Sama! on there You done goofed, son. But seriously whens Emi? Emi worst girl Now, but seriously, i hope they don't go the all-female roster direction. Having the Hataraku character not being Maou himself would be just wrong
