Agni Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 I just picked this character randomly in training mode and started liking him a lot so I'm learning him now, but his links are killing me. Anyone have any advice? Are they true links (one move must end completely before starting the next) or are they more like Slayer's late gatlings (where they can be cancelled, but at a much later or more specific time than most other moves in the game). I'm also having a little trouble doing TCL but that's just execution (The first two moves are fine, but getting the final 6C is a little tricky because you have to let it return to 5 (but not go all the way to 4) and then hit 6C really quickly. I tried doing 236C > 46C > 46C but that doesn't seem to work) so I guess I need to grind that out. Regardless, I really like this character.

The truth is is that if you do Sentinel Dump fast enough and far enough into the dash after TCL, you can safe jump every DP in the game, including Kagura's 8 Frame Flash kick. It only loses to Yukikaze, 720 and some super fast invul supers (Taokaka 236236D?). It's literally a perfect safe jump vs most options, which is why they're taking it out for 2.0. If you're beating Sentinel Dump with Mu's DP, then your Azrael isn't doing it fast enough.

While i am kinda sad dump oki is gonna go away (99.9% sure unless with some magical 0.01% they find a way to do it again), azrael having a setplay option which setups 4way mixup is kinda stupid. Anyway eager to see azrael change log. He will probably have some undocumented changes though. Most likely everyone else will have them too. My only regret is that i won't be able to go to the arcade to try him out ;(. Life sucks. PS. still working on that LGP sadly. I just want to know if i am getting that goddamn funding i should get, but processing is taking forever (ノಠ益ಠ)ノ彡┻━┻ .

If so then i suppose we need to start using LWP more in midscreen. No biggie really, with these changes it's probably better in midscreen anyway. Gimme console version nao mori, you little fuck. EDIT: also wondering if they kept the change for gustaf where you end up closer after it on block. That would be nice. I do believe it also staggered during TGS revision.

I did not see any noticeable range when it came to how close he was next to nu in this link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CnS0_kfLMnA#t=210 This video wasn't impressive at all. They only showed the new growler and said, "oh here's the new TCL that got murdered on midscreen." What are we supposed to do with the new growler anyways? Yes we can cancel in cannon projectile but that sends them all the way down across the screen. The recovery of it is not good to the point we can dash in and do something. We can convert a BHS from it but that cost 50 meter so there's that restriction. The only thing we can get out of it is a chance to gain more proximity but we are still playing a neutral game and didn't really gained any real advantage. I'm not sure what was their point in showing us those raw valiants combos even the growler one ( it did looked cool I ought to admit). Its not like we can rely to throw raw valiant here and there so I thought that was irrelevant. We honestly took a huge hit and we are going to have to adapt, there's no other way around it.

Dogura uses it ALL THE TIME. EDIT: You can also combo it to dash TK TCL so with correct read and positioning the new phalanx cancel will be a great asset in your arsenal.

Dogura uses it ALL THE TIME. True you can get gustaf tk out of it but you still need the 50% meter limitation to convert into anything other than that. And it seems it will be the same route for midscreen TCL. No more sentinel dump after it so might as well use a gustaf tk after TCL on midscreen.

If you happen to be near corner you can go for TCL and corner combo. Which reminds me, the new TCL might not be that bad. The slide state seems to last quite long so dash 3D/6D after RC might be possible if you happen to have a weakpoint. Time will tell. EDIT: Meant TCL RC dash 3D/6D.
