My biggest sadness about making the switch is that i can no longer play properly in bed on stick. Pad too good.

Whoa. You mean I'm not the only one who does this?

Posted

I would, but I don't have my lagless monitor that close to my bed and I'm not playing on my 52 inch. That and I use a stick...I gave up the leisurely playability..and I miss it.

I would take that to mean a few things:

1) The Nu stripped of mode change we'll be getting will be infinitely less interesting and varied than the one we currently have (a-la CT Nu)

2) We're going to have to relearn a large majority of the character.

3) No longer having access to both forms in one character means many Nu mainers will have to choose which character (Lambda and Nu) to main rather than having access to both playstyles in one character.

Not liking any of this. I think it would have hurt less if we never had stance Nu in the game in the first place as I wouldn't have known what I was missing.

I don't think we will have to relearn a large majority of the character. Dia Nu was just a gimped Nu and Luna Nu was just a gimped Lambda so the basics of neutral, pressure and defense will be basically the same. It will mainly be combos and match-ups we will have to re-learn.

And I think it will be better to have 2 complete characters rather than 1 character who is a mash up of 2 different characters. I never felt that Nu's different modes were done correctly. Compared to characters like A.B.A, Aigis and Valk, her mode changing just feels inferior.

I always loved it. The opponent had to constantly pay attention to what mode we were in and we could easily switch it up based on the situation. We'll have to wait and see what we're getting for each character still. I'll be playing both. Who knows, maybe they'll find a way to make them both independently entertaining to play. I would prefer not to get a CT Nu back though. She's too fun now to return to it. Hoping for some new mechanics for them both.

Personally, I always preferred versatility - the ability to adapt to any situation was something that I felt was truly exciting. That's what I feel mode changed offered. I'm with Blood here - let's see what happens.

Like others i find the complexity of mode change challenging but fun, the mode change has made her gameplay over much better, and usually technical characters excel the higher you are able to fully use that character. The steep learning curve has a good rewards, I don't think anything will offer a much free style approach such as mode change. It's like you can connect anything and everything as long as you had the input to do so.

Hmm, I don't know. It didn't really feel like something that needed paying attention to. Luna and Dia can both zone and have similar normals so it doesn't feel as different as say Aigis going orgia or Valk going wolf.

Look at it this way, Nu and Lambda may be way better than the current Nu. Unfortunately, this actually just splits the Nu fanbase. Right now, I'm leaning toward becoming a Lambda main. I'm curious which way the community will go, Nu or Lambda!

Also, I hope they show a trailer of Nu and Lambda soon.

I'll either main Nu and sub Lambchops or dual main them and just mode change at the character select screen. We'll see when we learn more.

I like Nu as a character more as well. I enjoy both playstyles, so the only option is play both for me. Today has been a really depressing day..my heart...it just aches..

I don't want to have to pay for Lambda (but I may shell out if she gets the peppermint color scheme again, it was too stronk in Extend), so I'll just stick to Nu for now.

Unless I don't like the new Nu, in which case I'll look for a new main. A nu main? Huehuehue

SWD: Have you already figured out the max number of 22As you can fit into a combo yet?

Indeed I have.

[Luna]5CFC>236B~22A>3C(1)>236D~C~22A>6A>214D~22A>4DD>214D~22A>236D~22A>214B~22A>236C~22A>6DD~22A>2DD>ODC>2DD>632146D

Midscreen. 8 22As

Also being inside gravity when getting hit by midscreen 236C makes it comboable after because they don't fly too far :3 though it only really works on fatal.

I would like to see this combo.

CSE Lambda was GARBAGE compared to CP1 Nu. Every version, Lambda just fell farther down the tier list and became slightly more bearable with options.

All the changes they made when putting her in CP was EVERYTHING I wanted out of the character: no 4B[1], teleports off of D/6C, special DP, varied gameplay. The only thing missing from CP Nu was Lambda specific mechanics like C version of specials.

When they put these changes in effect, I better see Nu and Lambda get a lot of new tools that will make them complete characters and I better have a way to select CP 1.1 Nu (ala Noel's costume change).

Lambda had always been mid-tier. If anything, her match-ups had been getting better since the characters that gave her the most trouble were becoming reasonable. CP Nu is mid tier as well. It isn't doing justice to Lambda to call her garbage.
