Digital Watches Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 And when the round is over, they both win. Seriously, though, the EX characters are obviously not balanced with the normal ones. But are they balanced with each other? Hmm... I doubt it. Remember that game designers don't have a magic formula for "balance" that can be done abstractly and generally. EX characters are console-only extras and have historically not been used in high-level play. As with anything that doesn't have extensive play-testing, especially (as the Arc team has been very good about) field play-testing lessons learned from previous installments. While I'm sure the team that codes and designs the EX characters (especially if it's the same team that writes the normal ones) know a little (or a lot) about character balance in general from experience. However, it's basically making educated guesses (or even just stabbing in the dark), rather than what's been proven to work for balancing a game.
Blade Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 This crossed my mind but...would there be any way or means of getting EX Character frame data from AC+? Some stuff looks like it was taken directly from Slash, so I don't know for sure.
