What happened to Anji?

On a side note, I'm thinking of switching to Potemkin in AC. But it depends on how I feel after I take AC Millia for a test drive...

What happened to Anji?

He's apparently quitting Anji bc he's not top anymore. Though based off what I've read in the Anji forum, he made the discussion that Anji probably isn't nearly as bad as people think....so why a change of primary? I hate it when people switch characters bc their former primary "sucks". If they suck, then prove people wrong and win with them. It's not impossible to do well, you just have to put a bit more devotion to your character in. Just look at that Johnny player that won the first AC tourney in Japan (forget his name). Johnny is in the bottom 3 and managed to win, as is I-No, whom Koichi used to win the 100 man AC challenge. Tier lists don't matter, as those victories should prove. It's skill that wins out in the end.

Well said Ice prince, well said. I'm beginning to become somewhat of a fan of your ever changing avatars. It's like "What's he gonna have up there next?" The Millia one was funny IMO. Did Koichi seriously beat 100 dudes in a row with I-No? If so, he needs to retire or at least go on hiatus for a while.

Aw, thanks! Loz and Yazoo ftw. In the 100 man challenge, I don't believe he had to fight 100 people, I just believe there were 100 entrants or something like that. It went regular Japanese tourney style, but he beat some really good players (Ruu and N-Otako to name a few) to win. The finals were Koichi vs N-Otako I believe, in which Koichi won.

I will mainly be switching because i don't like the way Anji plays in AC, and theres no point to palying the game if im not going to have fun doing it. I will still play him, but if my suspicious are confirmed he's not going to play in a manner i enjoy and my lack of comp makes it impossible for me to overcome the hurdles i think Anji will have to jump to be competitive in that game. Also Aaron (AKA) is like a brother to me, and i'm enjoying learning a character first hand from him.

Aaron's a good guy from what I gather. I've spoken with him a few times. He's the only person I'd take Millia advice from on here, so you have a good first hand teacher.

I've actually been thinking about compiling a character matchup thread, as that's pretty much the only really detailed thing that's missing from this forum. Because everyone has different comp, I'm sure we can all really throw in what we know* (carved in stone*). Topic: Watched the latest vids from Mikado, and I'd say that Millia is probably Koichi* as well. It's his color, and he has an excellent offense. Those are matches that are textbook for fighting Slayer, ABA, and Potemkin. Plays very patiently and knows exactly when he can continue pestering his opponent. Potemkin combos were especially great, and abusing bubble call on ABA was excellent in situations where ABA wasn't in mode, and to abuse ABA's long wakeup animation *turns out it was Nakamura!

New vids from a-cho, looks like Woshige decide to make a trip over there and win himself some matches. Not much new to note though, just some very good positioning skills and solid gameplay. Some noteworthy bits: - Example of the new 2F link from connected 6K to 5Sf to (corner) launch. - Cool use of air FB disc during ATG blockstrings to add time for one additional mixup - Fairly intuitive knockdowns, featuring j.D/BM and S Pin/6H enders.

And once again, air FB disc is used to stuff wakeup shits; a Blue Burst by the Dizzy in that particular match. This is our new HS disc FRC, heh.

I've seen those videos yesterday, and those were probably one of the best I've seen. So, how many good Millia players does Japan have anyway? Koichi (probably), Nakamura, Zayasu, and Woshige. Nakamura vs. Woshige.....very interesting.

And I suppose you may know this already, but air FB disc acts kinda like pin in that it keeps your forward/backward momentum after throwing it out.
