The Martian Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Wasn't really sure where to post this, so I'm just putting it here. I used this guide recently to make a Japanse account so I could download a copy of Chronophantasma. Pretty much everything worked out fine. What I'm wondering, is how long does it usually take to receive the e-mail codes for the Japanse PSN cards? I ordered them from japan-codes.com (the second site suggested in the guide) and it's been several hours, and I've still received no e-mail with the codes. I've never done this sort of thing before so I'm just wondering how long it usually takes to receive them, considering how much money I spent on them.
Kyosuke Kagami Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 It varies. No fixed time. In my experience, I've bought from Play Asia. They take from 10 minutes to 3 hours (with me) to provide code. Also check if your payment got authorised. That may also affect.
Celerity Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 It took me a few days to receive mine. It's almost past Friday business hours in Japan right now, so you might have to wait until after the weekend. =\

In my experience, I've bought from Play Asia. They take from 10 minutes to 3 hours (with me) to provide code. Here's the trick about ordering PSN Card codes with digital delivery -- You have to view these things exactly as gift cards. Once the retailer gives out the code, it is effective money that is gone. They have no way to get it back if the transaction is bad, fails, etc. As a result, almost every single retailer that offers digital deliver of a PSN Yen card (or similar gift card type service) has to involve manual review at some level or another to validate the transaction. This means that when ordering one of these cards online, you need to take the vendor's location and business hours into account. Unfortunately, it sounds like you placed your order after-hours for the business so you may need to wait for someone to do a manual order review before pushing the code. I know that when I've ordered from Play-Asia, when I've ordered off-hours for Honk Kong I always expect to wait until HK business hours. When I do place an order during HK business hours, code delivery is effectively instant (submit order, land on digital delivery page, refresh, theres the code). Be patient and note what time it is for the vendor with the assumption that manual action on their part is required. It took me a few days to receive mine. It's almost past Friday business hours in Japan right now, so you might have to wait until after the weekend. =\ A few days sounds like too much though. Was that from japan-codes.com? It shouldn't take a few days for a business that is specialized in that, at least during a weekday. I haven't used them before but that would make me very cautious about using them in the future.

No, it was because I ordered towards the end of Friday business hours in Japan, like The Martian did. I ended up getting my code on Monday afternoon.

I ended up getting my code on Monday afternoon. Yeah that sounds about right. That's the rough thing about ordering codes. If something comes up on a weekend you're pretty much stuffed. I do a lot of import/JPN store download so I always try to keep my account charged up to 7500円 and refill when I drop below that so that I don't have to worry about that. Also helps working a schedule that's in-sync with the Japan/Aus timezone so I tend to put in my orders during their work times. Just gotta remember that a human is going to have to look at your order before you get a code unfortunately.
PhantomIndex Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 Yeah just try to avoid ordering at the beginning of the weekend. I can't tell you how many times I bought things online be it digitally sent or physical and I had to wait because the next day was Sunday.
LegendaryRath Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 (edited) Sorry for posting here, but I didn't want to make a new thread. I'm on step 5 of making a JP PSN account from the importing 101 thread. When I click where it says to, I get this message. nevermind. Just switched back to english to check what it said, it's just maintenance. Edited November 7, 2013 by LegendaryRath
