Mooglebane Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 I just think they are a little slow due to the hitstop caused by the Clean hits. Yeah, that's true. They still look cool though, there's that "oomph" to them. And yes, Dazardz, Yukari's combos look very nice as well.
Dazardz Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Have you seen these? (05/06/2014) P4U2 1.10 - S.Yosuke Vs. Strife Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 (edited) Official translated names for Junpei's attacks in P4U2! Wiki is also updated. Edited June 10, 2014 by Strife
HoudiniJr100 Posted June 10, 2014 Author Posted June 10, 2014 I still question the flamingo swing... Does Junpei really look like a flamingo?! Lol
Strife Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 Arc Revolution Cup - Tokyo Area A Local Qualifier [06/15/2014 - Playlot Joy] Hina (Junpei) Hina is in!
HoudiniJr100 Posted June 19, 2014 Author Posted June 19, 2014 Arc Revolution Cup - Tokyo Area A Local Qualifier [06/15/2014 - Playlot Joy]Hina (Junpei) Hina is in! JUNPEI REPRESENT! (I will likely yell this in token's ultimax stream if I don't use Kanji, in that case it'd be kanji represent. Lol)
Zephyrion22 Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 I still question the flamingo swing... Does Junpei really look like a flamingo?! Lol Think it's called this way because he rises his leg, before swinging, like a flamingo ! anyway great characters always come with silly move names, so that automatically makes Junpei dah man !
Strife Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 (edited) I asked Hina's opinion regarding Junpei's Match-Up chart. Red values are bad match-ups, green are even and blue are in Junpei's favor. Normal Format (2 rounds to win) Vs. Narukami, Yosuke, Minazuki (7:3) Vs. Naoto, Mitsuru, Aigis, Shadow Labrys, Sho (6,5:3,5) Vs. Akihiko, Kanji, Elizabeth (6:4) Vs. Chie, Yukiko, Teddie, Labrys, Yukari (5,5:4,5) Long Format (3 rounds to win) Vs. Narukami, Yosuke, Minazuki (6:4) Vs. Naoto, Mitsuru, Aigis, Shadow Labrys, Sho (5,5:4,5) Vs. Akihiko, Kanji, Elizabeth (5:5) Vs. Chie, Yukiko, Teddie, Labrys, Yukari (5,5:4,5) He said that the format is really important considering Junpei's baseball design. The longer he can play, the more he'll score and get stronger. It's definitely possible to play a 2 round match and get as much runs as you would in a 3 round match, but you need to play really well and manage the baseball gauge perfectly. Mooglebane Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 Yeah, I think the 2 round format hurts Junpei a bit (unless you're really good and on-point most of the time). Gotta make everything count.
HoudiniJr100 Posted June 22, 2014 Author Posted June 22, 2014 Think it's called this way because he rises his leg, before swinging, like a flamingo ! anyway great characters always come with silly move names, so that automatically makes Junpei dah man ! Makes sense to me.
Strife Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 (edited) Uploaded the beginning of the last combo video where PET is showing the 10 Run combos. Here's the translation by Sourenga: "If you have 0 Runs, the only thing you need to aim is to get 10 at once. This can be done with One More Burst combos. Even if you don't have the meter for a Homerun, go offensive and try to get as many Runs as possible with this method. It's highly recommended to go for these combos at match start, that way you might have your Burst back by the end of the round." You'll mostly confirm the OMB out of aerial combos, make sure you don't waste any opportunity to use it. After the Burst, use 2B to pick up and go for the aerial combos. It's possible to go for aerial combos after a Fatal counter, example: 5B > 2C > Combo. Concluding, here's a special 10 Run combo using 2B FC. This combo works against Minazuki's warps, it's a guaranteed Fatal. 8 Runs without meter and 12 with 50." Edited June 24, 2014 by Strife

Strife Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Added all color palettes to the first post. We might see 4 new ones on console since Adachi has 26. Mooglebane 1
HoudiniJr100 Posted July 8, 2014 Author Posted July 8, 2014 Added all color palettes to the first post. We might see 4 new ones on console since Adachi has 26. Awesome. I need to make a list later of all known projectiles Junpei can deflect. (Even if they hit him if they're multi-hit) Also has anyone tried deflecting that fear shot naoto has? Strife 1
Mooglebane Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Oh man, this has got to be one of the most depressing Junpei matches I've seen. So sad.
mixedmethods Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Oh man, this has got to be one of the most depressing Junpei matches I've seen. So sad. It is Kirisame and two rounds to win... and Chie doesn't have projectiles for Junpei to bat back. That's going to be tough for Junpei, I would assume, since he either needs to be able to swat projectiles or get in for bat attacks, but Kirisame's Shadow Chie is just too dominant. Don't lose all hope -- that was definitely a match where the odds were against Junpei, and having to defensively burst removed the option of OMB combos. And with Shadow Rampage + SB Power Charge, any character would be having a tough time, because Chie is ... still Chie, unfortunately, and 20% damage reduction for Shadow version doesn't hurt Chie as much as some others. It looks like Junpei is going to be in uphill battles against most of the cast, but there's still plenty of potential, so ... think positive!
Strife Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 (edited) Chie is actually one of Junpei's best match-ups according to the top Junpei player Hina. It's a 5.5;4.5 for Chie with 2 rounds to win and even/Junpei's favor in 3 rounds. That was just Kirisame being a P4U god and Gao mashing DP/All Out Attack. He played really bad even though he's supposed to be top 3 Junpei. Edited July 8, 2014 by Strife
Balguna Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Idle speculation here, but is it fair in assuming anything that Yukiko's Dia is invulnerable to, Junpei can bat? I mean, it could lead to some hilarious yet potential useful ideas, like batting Teddie's Circus Bear. Heck, almost all of Teddie's items could be nulled by Junpei's bat if that were the case.
mixedmethods Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Chie is actually one of Junpei's best match-ups according to the top Junpei player Hina. It's a 5.5;4.5 for Chie with 2 rounds to win and even/Junpei's favor in 3 rounds.. Yeah, I was unclear -- I meant that that MU was especially unfavourable because of Kirisame, not that Chie is a particularly bad MU for Junpei. As for batting Teddie's items, I think it was UltraChen that demonstrated that it was indeed possible to do so.

Kirisame was really damn good in all his matches though, he read everyone like a book. What do you guys think of Shadow Junpei, by the way? I don't like him that much since he needs 50 SP to score homeruns for install plus I feel he benefits from OMCs a lot. The Shadow SP gain + install SP gain interests me though, but I don't think it's worth it overall.
