how do i play this thing online? i have game but there is no option for vsplay or replay. Which patch is everyone playing and what should happen when i click on the patcher.exe file?

Posted

Free: The most recent version is 1.15-3. Once the patch has been applied - if there was no error message during patching and if there is now a ggxx.OLD file in the folder, then everything went smoothly - be sure to enable SHORTCUT mode at the options screen. This step is key, since the animated menu will not display the netplay or replay menu items.

yep i had it on shortcut mode, but still no vs or replay shows. When i double click the patcher file it just shows some error. question: When u double click the ggxxnet_patcher.exe file is it suppose to do or show something?

Before you double-clicked the patcher, did you delete ggxx.exe, and rename ggxx.OLD to ggxx.exe? If you do that, then you shouldn't get an error. When you get to the main menu, are you already in Shortcut mode? I don't know why it's not appearing for you. You are using the 1.15 patch with the 1.15-3 dll, right? We gotta figure out how to get you back online. I miss fighting that crazy May of yours.

still didn't work, the game just shows regular stuff, no vs or replay options. what happens if i doulbe click the patcher before i deleted the ggxx.exe file. It doesn't matter does it?

so i delete the original ggxx.exe file and keep the other ggxx.exe file i download from guiltygear.ru?

i have 1.15 patcher and 15-3.dll

here's picture of what my folder looks like

how about if you dl a new ggxx.exe and try patching that? That's what I do in case renaming doesn't work. :3

Excuse me, but the PINGOVER bug is created by selecting "Ignore slow connection" in GGXXNET CONFIG, right people? I tried with my friends and the result was, if you tick in "Ignore slow connection", even people with ping <100 is said to be Ping over. Really annoying T___T

Okay, now I'm having trouble connecting. I'm currently using wireless. If someone challenges me, I can get no further than the black screen after character selection, and if I challenge someone, I can't even pass the black screen before the character selection screen. Anyone know what the problem is?

PS: I know very little about computers

I have trouble connecting to people as well. If you change your settings to this it will help.

Before I changed my settings I could hardly challenge anyone. I still cant challenge many people but its more than it used to be. Now I can actually get past the challenge screen sometimes. Also programs such as TCPOptimizer helps.

the majority of us play on that server you just listed. make sure you aren't running torrents or anything. that would drive your ping up so you wouldn't be able to connect to people. be patient, sometimes nobody is on. if you leave the window open while you just browse the internet, someone will eventually challenge you :kitty:

edit- changed a sentence for clairty

How can I get back to the lobby, from char. select menu after someone challenge me?

Well, I'm sure there are several ways to do it. You could soft reset (don't know how to do it though), which will take you back to the main menu. The method I use, although it's rather unorthodox, is done by hitting the Start Menu key, which has to minimize GG in order to bring the Start menu up. Then I just click GG on the Task Bar, the game is restored back to full screen, and it takes me back to the lobby. It's probably not the best way to go about doing it, but it works for me.

For some reason soft reset (start+select+4 shoulder buttons) doesn`t work for me in the PC version??? And for some reason whenever I try to minimize GG window the game is still running. ====================================== EDIT I just found out what works for me. I couldn`t soft reset because of the rotatory axis setting (config.exe>joystick settings). Now when rotatory axis is turned on I can soft reset just fine with start+select+4 shoulder buttons. The other method is similar to Dubious start button method, I just use alt+tab. This works for me, thanks :keke:

Hi, My friend is trying to play online. And I myself have done all the patchie things for him, port forwarding, config... And it worked just fine, i was able to fight several matches. But my friend, he used an analog on a PS2 gamepad, plugged it in the comp and played. Everything was cool until he touched his analog, there was a "sync error" and i dont know why. Help plzzzzzzz

sync error happens often so there is nothing to worry about.. unless this happens every time he touches the analog stick. if that is the case then, i dunno

Same thing happens to me every time I try to use my analog stick. The second I touch it I get the dreaded sync error screen. I think this has something to do with my usb adapter but im not sure. If I could fix this I would finally be able to play Ino online.

ok, now i'm annoyed. I cant get GGXX to load anymore. it works if it's not patched for online, play but after I patch it, it never loads.

do you have windows vista?

Posted

nope. its odd. I stopped playing for about a week, maybe a week and a halve and then it stopped loading. I deleted the ggxx.exe file, changed the .OLD file into .exe and it works fine up to that point. I then patch the ggxx.exe file with the vsnet patch and thats when it stops working. Edit: I just tried reinstalling the whole damn thing again and still no dice -_- not only that, but my ggxnet_config isnt saving anything. I paste the loby name and click add and then close it, then when I open it again, all the stuff is gone.

there any good ways to improve ping? I can only play with some of the people I know. One of them lives in my state, the others live out of state (one of them on the whole other coast). I haven't (and can't for that matter) play other people due to massive no responses or overpings.

I'm behind a router but I've got 10000 forwarded... and I know my connection ain't that shitty, as I can play other games (MBAC for one) without lag.

Is this with the new patch, and if so, have you tried an older one?

Posted

yep, it happened after the new patch. I tried it with 1.15 but still nothing. I'm going to work my way down and then back up (if it works) tonight after my brother's done with his lit paper. I got the config back to how it used to be though, so now its only getting ggxx to actually start up. if it doesnt work out I'm gonna have to nuke my system andt reinstall everything. good thing I have a lot of extra cds for back up files.
