Here's a link (lol attachment limit) containing me playing against Old Gregg (Mandraku). I don't know why I'm sharing these, as I'm normally not one to throw around replays; I guess I just feel like it and had fun playing.

This zip contains every single match we had today, so a few of them will have desyncs occur mid-match. I can't really be bothered to go through each one and filter out the incomplete ones, though.

Anyway, if you like watching Slayer and/or Testament in something as outdated as #R, these might be worth a look. Though, I don't think anyone would be insane enough to glance at all 21 matches.

For kicks, heres some replays of me scrubbing around with Slayer trying to do some silly shit and airthrowing May out of her god damned Iruka and Sol out of his Volcanic Viper

(incase it wasn't obvious I mean while the moves ar ecoming out/active, not during recovery)

As you can see I have a terrible slayer as I'm distracted trying to do stupid shit like reversal BDC bites and shit and failing completely at it. :(

Please, give me advice for my poor Ky :psyduck: I am trying hard not to do GS and Stun Deeper too mutch, but SD or 5S(far), SD are guaranteed punisher after so many things...it goes under a lot of stuff as well. Nevertheless I have the feeling I am doing it way too much.

How is that for me?

XD Ow, I want to hit you. Humorously with Slayer I REALLY REALLY wanted to BDC throw one of your level 2 dragon kicks. :( That would be ruled.

These replays are of Spicy testing me to see if I still run into IK's or if I get in Faint status and IK'd. Not sure if Spicy was giving it his all as Potemkin or the others, though. People still IK me a lot. I guess I know when to expect Potemkin's IK coming... or not. :vbang:

If someone could help me find any openings in these replays, it would help me greatly. I've never beaten Kicks before and I've watched these replays over and over and I just don't see any openings. Also, any advice towards me playing Sol would be helpful, too.

I think the 1st thing you need to do is learn the basic combos for Sol, the problem is not that there's no openings, it's just that you cant make use of the chances you've got and turn it into a victory.

For example, in one of the replays u did a 2HS CH, and you barely hit anything after that, if you dont know dustloop, the least you can do is something like jk>js>jc>js>jd>623HS>214K>knockdown>gun flame FRC>mixup

PS: btw, don't spam moves randomly (e.g. 236K and 623HS), you'll just get punished badly, learn to poke n pressure safely.

I know basic combos for Sol. Yes, I didn't know what to do during 2HS CH because it doesn't come up often in matches and I haven't trained on it. Sadly, I cannot Dust Loop. I can do like three Dusts, but after that it stops for me and this is only on one variation of Dust Loop. I know how to do that air combo you've posted, but I can't really FRC Gun Flame very easily. There's a 30% chance I'll FRC it. I also know about VV and BR and their punishes, but I'm not sure how to go about poking and pressuring safely.

Thanks, though...

Well, just knowing is not enough, you need to learn them thoroughly so you can connect any random hits into a combo and don't drop combos (You never know what's going to happen in a match, if a chance is gone, the chance is gone)

And GF frc is very important for sol, GF frc>.. is like the only okizeme/mixup option he has, and it's sometimes useful for corner combo as well (e.g. GC>6P>opponent wall bounce>GF frc>air combo) You must master it if you want to be a good sol player.

For poke and pressure, I'm not a sol player so I cant say much, I can tell you 5K is a very good anti-air, 2D and 2S are good ground moves with low risks as well. There are plenty of #R matches added onto youtube recently, I'm sure you can find some with the best Sols in it (i.e. PC, 012, isa), just simply learn from the best. Look at all the little moves and tricks they do and try to understand them.

I apologize if you find this post offending in any way, my english isn't that great so yea...

Hope you find it useful.

So I've been told many a time and I am working on my Gun Flame FRC's.

This I know and have been doing for quite some time.

Look, I apologize if I come off as an ass, but I haven't started playing Guilty Gear or beginning to learn Sol. I've been at this for quite a while; quite a while being two years (four-six months if you wanna say real matches and not against Maniac CPUs). Sure, the replay doesn't really show that and that's because I was under pressure, tension, nervous, and unsure of what to do at given moments, but I know how to play Sol to a decent level. Again, not to sound like an ass, but most of this stuff I'm already aware off, but again, the replay just may not show that.

I do, however, appreciate your assistance, though. Thank you.

For Hayato who asked and anyone else. Nerina wasting me on his way to 100 wins. Stupid Exigent stole the last two attempts from me. :(

Yeah, you came really close to beating him... alot better than what I did against him. I just saw him on earlier this morning, and his win streak was up to 200!! I thought I could take him out, but I failed badly. I did manage to beat him one round though:toot:

Can someone tell me why I can't find the replays? I can go on gg, and the replays will be there, but when I check the gg directory, there isn't even a replay folder. In a similar case, none of the changes I make in the ggxxnet config will save. You think these problems have something to do with Vista or something?

I wonder what he meant by "clean." I didn't even have a chance to do anything; had me stuck in the corner the entire time. If anything, his Ky is the one that's clean, but yeah... was right about the tk ms's. I was reluctant to use them against him because the magnitude of his skill somewhat intimidated me. I fixed that nonsense about the ggxxnet config, but I'm still can't find the replays. They gotta be somewhere though, because I can still view all the replays, but I don't understand why it's not in the GG directory. Vista needs to be erased from existance. btw, did anyone destroy his streak yet?
