someonewhodied Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 Go nuts guys. Dunno if they will be giving lambda a seperate character forum or something but for now here is a thread.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i1cSOE4y1ks
AchedSphinx Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 We can plainly see, based on that image, that Lambda's new drive will consist of her visor acting as orbital bombardment.
Monarch Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 So, any ideas on new designs? I'm personally at a loss on how they could make the Sword Summoner drive different.
GEKKA Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 All i want is for her not to don the armor and it's a victory in my book.
zaeris Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 Lol that pic reminds me of saber lily, maybe some shiny amour. Specs off and gundam freedom style, maybe even double gravity. And counter attacks to fit her melees and amour style
someonewhodied Posted July 15, 2014 Author Posted July 15, 2014 I hope its literally cse combos. I miss dashunder combos
GEKKA Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 Seeing the big sword be used would be kinda cool too, I dunno about it being her drive though. Maybe just in one special or something like blood scythe is.
kenja0 Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 Did people honestly hate Nu's mode change from CP? She's the most fun, most balanced iteration of her. She has no more story relevance so it's probably an import. If it's a new moveset, it better have more variety and better framedata than CSE.
ElegantShadow Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 I'm getting the feeling that Lambda may end up playing like Weiss from Arcana Heart. It would make sense, she'd still use swords, but in a more Rush-Down-esque fashion.

I've been playing Nu since CT but I felt the restricted move set cramped my style too much, and I ended up switching to Izayoi. Looking forward to seeing what they come up with for Lambda.
GreekAngel Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 I just wonder how different they are gonna make lambda compared to her murokumo counterparts? Will she be more rushedown? More Zoning? More hybrid with a stupidly good DP? Honestly, I'm not even sure, but lets hope for the best with Lambda. P.S. Give her two airdashses.
BloodWolF Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 I didn't like it, personally. I've been playing Nu since CT but I felt the restricted move set cramped my style too much, and I ended up switching to Izayoi. Looking forward to seeing what they come up with for Lambda. Wait...restricted moveset? They damn near doubled her abilities. I felt it gave her a vast number of options to facilitate many situations. The restriction of the distortion drives is the only restriction coming to mind, really.
Monarch Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 I honestly don't want to get my expectations up too much. At this point, I'm presuming a full CSE port with minor tweaks here and there, and probably a new move.
BloodWolF Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 I'm with you. Them stating that her drive is different gives me some hope, but I'll put it in the back of my mind and just assume to have a sub in a year or so. I would so love for that sub to have some different tricks to play with.
Monarch Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 It still eludes me to what they mean by *different*. Changing her drive would change the way she plays, in which case, they're either going to totally remake her (which I can't see them doing), or they'll add different properties to certain moves. In any case, I guess we'll have to wait till Thursday for more information.
hakimiru Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 Wait...restricted moveset? They damn near doubled her abilities. I felt it gave her a vast number of options to facilitate many situations. The restriction of the distortion drives is the only restriction coming to mind, really. Only having 1 super feels bad :< On a more serious note, for me it was mainly issues with being stuck in the wrong mode at the wrong time. Granted I only gave it like a week, but it was very frustrating not being able to respond with the move I wanted because I got caught on the wrong foot. Especially after the fluidity we had in EX and all previous iterations. Given the mode restrictions, it felt like there were less options available, even with the expanded moveset. Something like 1.5x moves, with only half available at any given time, = 0.75x options.
pokemonblaze234 Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 I hope that she gets a God like DP & more health. And why do people hate her 22A cancels so much?
DeathArcana Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 I kinda hope they alter her sprites, it is going to be so confusing to tell the two apart in a match, though I welcome her as a new character (or old one(?))
BloodWolF Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 Ok. I could see it feeling restricted in the beginning. It takes getting used to the switches and cancels to really feel the freedom.
toanenadiz Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 I still like the Lambda better than Nu. I've played lots of CP Nu and I feel she is the most restrictive version of the character next to CS1 Lambda. I feel like I have to play a certain way to win and my good options at any one point in time are less than what I had when I was using Extend Lambda. Hopefully CP Lambda will be as fun as Extend Lambda. Edit: It's sad that our small player base will be divided even more.
BloodWolF Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 The...3?..of us divided! However, I'm surprised that Lambda is so popular. I guess It may just be me that is the outlier here. I definitely enjoyed her, but I've just loved this version so much.
Monarch Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 My main gripe with mode change is that it caused more problems than it solved answers. With the addition of mode change, Lambda basically became obsolete. The fact that they're bringing her back only further illustrates the point that mode change should have never been implemented. Nu should have Nu abilities and Lambda should have Lambda abilities. Combining the two just doesn't work.
BloodWolF Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 You feel that Lambda (luna mode) is obsolete? Why is that? Also, what problems do you feel were created by their integration? Edit: I don't mean to sound defensive. To each his own. I am simply curious about reasoning.
Andru Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 Something like Weiss would be cool Give me the melee summoned swords
zaeris Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 Phrase lift made nu more technical in general, although it something that long term training can solve, maybe lambda is ment to be easy to pick up and go, probably what I believe lambda might be.
