No you can't cancel anything during an assault.

Black orbiter isn't a pressure tool, it's just to keep you safe after a blockstring. But it's minus on guard, so the opponent will either leave/take advantage.

Ah ok I figured as much about the assault cause I never see any Hyde do that. And I wish so much black orbiter was plus on block

Also you have to keep your blockstrings short and relevant. Like the ones you listed have a bunch of hits but after the 2C I don't see what your goal is other than giving them a shitload of GRD as well as wasting your own GRD on B+C for no payoff since as you say you end your pressure too far away to be effective.

based on the videos posted, this longer blockstring (B+C 236A) creates pushback to make 236A + on block allowing a dashin against characters who don't have good answers. It's not wasting GRD for no payoff, as the pushback also pushes them closer to the corner. Lack of air movement in the game means that this sort of positioning tool is very strong...assuming you are not against one of the characters who WANT to be this far away. From the video I watched he abuses an orie by doing 66C B+C 236A three times in a row, putting her in the corner with the pushback.

probably not a universal blockstring but it has it's uses in space control and positioning abuse against characters that can't do anything about hyde dashing in on +.

JUST SAYING.

Thanks for clearing that up. I retract my statement about it wasting GRD, though from the videos he doesn't use many hits to lead up to it. He does 66C > B+C > 236A, keeping it short. @HollowExia I thought he was great; I like the way he uses his movement to threaten people at times and the usage of the B+C blockstring.

Yea, I thought so too. He is THE most aggressive Hyde I have seen. I'm really trying to Study him, and Naru. I think Rion is ok but he plays the character more...Jin Kisaragi like if that makes since. Like he plays him in a more elegant and passive aggressive nature. Where as Kumichou is way more aggressive.

Also I was not aware there was really a way to make BO + on block. Can you explain why it becomes plus in block when done after B+C? Sorry if I sound ignorant.

Yes I agree, Kumi is extremely aggressive and I lmaoed at one point in the vids when he was trollin with 214B over and over on someone. I also love Rion lol the way he uses 6B(1) > 5[C] is godlike. As far as playing style goes I think I'll end up being a more passive aggressive Hyde that tries to abuse people with his ranged pokes and zoning tools similar to Rion. We should play on PSN sometime. I haven't put much time into my Hyde yet so he is still scrubby but it will be cool to fight a Hyde with a contrasting playing style. I still don't have any of his BnBs down XD.

I need to study Kumi.

I've studied Rion and his stuff is great, but I need to open people up. Hyde's greatest weakness is a patient opponent, so I need to learn to contract my pressure into short bursts with intent to get a hit.

Honestly Kumi is my favorite Hyde, But if someone could upload these vids to the front page, that might be a big help to all the other hydes that need match up help and like me who wanna understand more about his offense.

well he's doing it from spaced 66C in the videos. If you were to start from 2A, you'd have to create the same spacing by adding additional normals, hence the longer blockstring.

the further away from hyde they are when it's blocked, the more + it is. B+C is the longest ranged move that cancels into BO. According to frame data, BO can be + from max range 5C as well, adding more distance would add more +frames, until you add enough distance that they have time between the blocked hit and the BO to jump it and punish.

I've already stated that the startup includes the first active frame.

I've always thought it was stupid that a move -X on guard isn't punishable by a move with the same X startup frames.

In any case, feel free to change it if you feel it's wrong.

Added most of his hitboxes on the wiki and corrected some mistakes here and there

well no shit it includes the first active frame, look at the frames in the hitbox viewer if you don't get it......

Check chainshift.com, very cool site which seems to have a ton of vids collected on it.

Yeah that makes sense. Also for the BO to be + does it matter if its 236A or B?

idk, I alternate, the a version could be safer simply because it reaches the opponent later.

Hey quick question. I've seen Linne's A DP be canceled with CS on block at the top of the animation. I heard that this was possible because that move has no startup invuln. I was wondering if Hyde's A DP was the same since it feels like it has no startup invuln. Anyone know?

Honestly I'm pretty sure it's the A version cause it has less recovery for him. Plus it creates the illusion that the opponent can mash out.

No it can't be CS'd on block

623A can be CS on block, actually, just tried it to be sure. I don't see much reason in ever doing that though.
