Skye Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 I like to do 623a (blocked) > 41236c > CS into 4-5k. It's a gimmick, but it's worth fleshing out in a clutch set.
ipirate9 Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 @Skye - do you mean you do 41236C when you land from the 623A? Can't you get airpunished before you land? Also, aren't you in recovery when you land so a meaty move would beat the 41236C? I know that that move has great invuln but I'm just curious. Also, when do you CS after that move and would you mind sharing the combo you do? Thanks! :D
Skye Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 I've never got punished while still airborne, but it might be possible, you know how people wait for you to land before they punish to get optimal damage. Â i got the combo from that 2nd combo movie by bmen, it goes something like, 41236c (2) > CS > 5[c] > bc > rekka > 3b > 2c (the cmv was just 5b > orbiter here, but I think 3b > 2c does more damage) > orbiter > a follow up > ender. Go watch the cmv again for more routes and a midscreen version.
Skye Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 Your daily Hyde tech: tk j.236a/b in a corner oki situation trades with most reversal supers in the game, most in Hyde's favor. Very useful vs  Merkava Gordeau Eltnum Carmine Wald Hilda  Not too effective vs  Seth Orie Hyde Nanase Linne Vatista  Need more testing vs Akatsuki Chaos Byakuya Yuzu  i.e. Dash c in a midscreen oki situation makes most dps, meterless or not, whiff. Hard to punish the meterless ones, free punish on certain reversal supers. On a magic frame, Dash C can beat ex grim reaper. Need more testing.
Vhaeraun Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 Your daily Hyde tech: tk j.236a/b in a corner oki situation trades with most reversal supers in the game, most in Hyde's favor. Very useful vs  Not too effective vs Linne Kumichou doesn't tk it but he ends his combos with 3b2c(2a) > jump lotus b https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tYOsTpEi08g&index=2&list=PL2fF-q8XZCtht46UAyKrWgT_kb2PCxVB2#t=7m40s I have tried this on a casual match vs linne and it did work. Sometimes it didn't though, so maybe something is wrong on my part  So maybe the same can be done vs Akatsuki? Given that he and Linne somewhat have the same DP trajectory
Zephyrion22 Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 623A can be CS on block, actually, just tried it to be sure. I don't see much reason in ever doing that though.  623A has a really situational use as a last resort frame trap/throw tech punish when your out of options and you happen to have CS or 100 EXS on. if you want to reset pressure while getting sure to avoid a potential jump-out , you should consider using 623A every once in a while . you can either Chain shift the first hit for a full combo/pressing your advantage, or use 236C if you don't have Vorpal on. if the opponent jumped, you can also blow your meter/CS to convert it into damage. It also has quite a bit of hitsun so you should be still + if it traded with a light attack. On the con side, you have to make sure you are at almost point blank to CS/super cancel, so you should only do it after decent frame advantage, like j236A/ 5[C] 2A whiff. It's more of a gimmick than anything, but hey, it's stylish, and it's there soo.  It's also cool that Hyde has combos from his 623B reversal with CS on, although they are kinda tight and situational !
Hyde Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 Has anyone found out any sort of midscreen oki with him. I'm just curious cause Nanase has some pretty strong oki all things considered. Aslo I've been using 5[C] more in block strings more, but I'm worried peoples will start seeing it and trying to mash out. Any tips?
Skye Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 If 5[c] is spaced then it's a free ch, just keep it fresh. Midscreen oki can consist of dash c gimmicks, full jump j.236x, 2a, 5b, 6b, 5c meaty. I should test 2a whiff (due to backdash) > 236c.
Skye Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Random Hyde tech: Using smart steer to re-beat twice in a blockstring. I.e. 6b (1) > 5[c] > 5b > 5aaa (5a 5b 6b (1)) > 2a Good for just keeping up the pressure, remember, our normals do chip damage.
VR-Raiden Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Added most of his hitboxes on the wiki and corrected some mistakes here and thereThe effort was definitely appreciated, but just wanted to mention, apparently ASW shut down that hitbox viewer...might be wise to take them off to avoid any issues
Skye Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 I think it's best to wait to see if they even notice it first, the worst they can do is give out the C&D and then they can be backed up easily.
Tigre Posted August 21, 2014 Author Posted August 21, 2014 The issue, to my understanding isn't necessarily the hitboxes themselves, but rather that the game data was technically hosted online. BB/P4U hitboxes have been on the DL wiki for ages with no issue either. What does become a headache is that the hitboxes were uploaded and I did not know so I haven't fixed the hitbox template (still blind re-directs to dustloop) right now it's crazy ugly ;; I'll try to fix it tomorrow.

Yeah I wanted to notice an admin about this haha.  @VR-Raiden : Those are only self-made screenshots, not game datas. They can't ask us to remove them, I guess?  I don't care either way, i'll host them somewhere else if it's the case. This censorship is just plain stupid.
Sashi Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 It's pretty dumb, but they also said that even match vids (as in all ASW game vids) needed to be taken down, so I doubt they're happy with screenshots. It seems like an intern making a mistake, though. It's probably just the actual game code that's the issue.
Tigre Posted August 21, 2014 Author Posted August 21, 2014 MS Paint representations of the normals, and hitboxes are obviously the future. Can't do shit about that
Zouf Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 j.236B corner cross up combo :Â Â j.236B (crossup) > 3C (crossdown) > 214B > 4B > 4B > 3B > 2C > 236A > 236A > (66C > 623A > EX.) / (214B 4B 4B) Â Â Need to delay a bit the first rekka against small characters (Linne)
Zouf Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 This combo is for when j.236B is a starter in corner ^^
Hollow Exia Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 j.236B corner cross up combo : j.236B (crossup) > 3C (crossdown) > 214B > 4B > 4B > 3B > 2C > 236A > 236A > (66C > 623A > EX.) / (214B 4B 4B) Need to delay a bit the first rekka against small characters (Linne) This looks amazing but comboing off 214B is like impossible for me. I try delaying it and they either tech, the next hit doesn't hit them meaning I go over their head, or when I land my next normal does t come out and they tech. The Dragonic Tyrant
Zouf Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Video of the combo from earlier : Â https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D9dGZJN1erU
Zouf Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 Me playing at an online tournament.  I feeI I lack in hit confirm and agressiveness, and my pressing needs a lot of improvement, but well i'm trying :D  It was a 2on2 tournament, FT2 for every match  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G_U-7y6m8OQ#t=1596  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TxsrDfUvy4U#t=10  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TxsrDfUvy4U#t=652  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TxsrDfUvy4U#t=937  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TxsrDfUvy4U#t=1436  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bE29VGA4BvA
Reitou Knight Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 I like your Hyde man. Quick question though? Why do you do 623a in the corner for your grab combo? 3b 2c safe jump ender opens up a plethora of options. Other than that your pretty solid. My thing though, is when I'm in the corner I go for safe jump pressure into whatever. I only really do rekka ender or a super ender if it will kill.
Zouf Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 Because my brain orders me to. Â I'm trying to correct this, it will take some times tho. It's probably because i'm playing Tsubaki and one of her route in the corner is throw into DP lol. Damn muscle memory. Â I don't really trust in safe jumps in this game. As you can randomly delay your tech all you want, most of the time it won't work. Adding a little extra damage never hurts. The rekkas are very stylish too. Â Also, j.236B can bait most DP in the game (all of them except grim reaper EX and Nanase's I believe), plus it gives free pressure and a huge combo starter if the opponent mashes. Â But i'll consider it when I feel like it. As I said, I have a huge room for improvement, and not so many matches yet (hit 500 yesterday). Â First i'll try to never drop combos in matches, then i'll work my mixup / okizeme game
Hyde Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 Zouf your Hyde is absolutely amazing. very impressive. I going to be studying those vids for a while. I love how aggressive you are and your neutral is great. I hope at some point you'd be willing to help me with my own Hyde. Your pressure is astounding.
