Skye Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Some things you do need to work on; Optimizing your pressure and resources - you cs too early in a pressure string there's almost no point doing it after a dash c, at least throw in a rekka to build an ambiguous high low grab thing. Using meter to extend pursue imo is something Hyde players should do, black orbiter is essentially a pressure reset tool. Optimizing your combos - a normal starter should always net you at least 3k in the corner. And yes your oki needs work.
Zouf Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 My combos are getting better. In fact, they are way better than during this tournament. I still lack the feel to do a good corner carry combo midscreen, but in the corner i'm ok i guess. Now I know that Hyde needs to throw EXs to keep on pressuring the opponent, but i've always hated using meter for this. Working on it though. Thanks for the feedback

Zouf Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 I'm from europe so we won't be able to play together lagfree, unfortunatly. I'm not so aggressive. I'm more relying on neutral and okizeme. My pressure and get-in games are lacking. You'd better watch JP players for aggressiveness. What I can say is that Assault is super strong in this game, especially Hyde's Assault B. People are getting hit by this endlessly. 236A is what I use most of the time to get in and frame traps. Remember, 236A > 6B is a great frametrap at a certain range. I don't really see what help I could bring to you tbh. Hyde is a pretty straight forward character. Just practice frames traps (6B > 5[C] > 2A(w)) and throw baits (walking forward > TK j.236A (or assault)), 6B on neutral (this move is godlike).

I nocited that you use 3B > 5[C] > 6B > 2A (w) a lot also which I found very interesting. Also what are you block strings?
Zouf Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Best blockstring i can come up with is 2A > 5B > 2B > 5C > 2C > B+C > 236A > 236B > CS / 236C > reset pressure 2C > B+C has a gap for DP but not mash, so people will get hit if they try something funny here. You might want to try 2C > 214A > 4A to get closer and frametrap. 2C > 214A > 4A > Assault / Throw / TK j.236A / 2A. If you know 214A will whiff, you might want to cancel it with j.236C (whiff canceallable). I feel it's a waste of meter but it's better than getting punished I guess.
Skye Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Spaced 5[c] is a brilliant way to beat mash and offers a pressure reset. It's still plus without the rebeat.

Tong Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 You use 6B to stop rush in attempts. Make them run into it.
Vhaeraun Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 Hi, can you guys give me feedback on what to improve? Vhaeraun Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 that combo your doing off of TK BO is that 214A or B? The Dragonic Tyrant 214A, delayed second hit then just immediately rekka the third

Obviously combo drops are no good, but i don't teach you anything here. Both your opponent weren't so good tbh, especially Waldstein who spams smart steer. Now it's a matter of matchups. Why did you bunker byakkuya 236C? It's unsafe and he can't cancel it on block. Just let it end, 41236C and you were done. You don't use 6B enough in neutral imo. Other than that you are pretty solid, nothing to say really.
Hyde Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Hey guys I was playing a friend the other day and he would jab on knock down, so I'm curious what are you guys using to meaty on knock down with Hyde.
Skye Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Dash c, 6b, j.236x I really don't like 2a meaty because there is a lot of recovery on it for a 2a and I find myself whiff punished via mashing.

Ok so 66C can be used to meaty that is very useful thank you. Cause was getting very frustrated when my friend would tech and then jab me. Also is there a timing it. I know in BB to meaty an overhead you had to be on top of the person and as they tech'd do your over head,
Skye Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Yeah there is timing involved, just practice it, you'll get it down. 66c kills wake up mash and makes most dps whiff.
steeltoedsandal Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Are there designated combo routes off of 5B 5C A rekkas? I know you get 3c after the A rekkas but after that i'm lost.
Reitou Knight Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Mid screen? Not so much without chainshift that I'm aware of. In the corner after 3c? You could go into rekkas again, or you could do something along the lines of 3c J.a j.b j.c 3c, 2c, BO. I'm almost 100 percent positive hitstun will cut the combo short. So omit what's necessary for the combo to hit.
Zouf Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Are there designated combo routes off of 5B 5C A rekkas? I know you get 3c after the A rekkas but after that i'm lost. Try 5B > 5C > rekka A *2 > land > 2B > rekka B * 3 > land > 3B > 5[C] > rekka B * 3 Or else 5B > 5C > rekka A *3 > land > 2C > 236A 236A > 66C > rekka B * 3
Hyde Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 Guys can can someone please help me with the timing with Dash C in combos cause I lose like half of my games cause I drop combos and get punished.
Reitou Knight Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 Check the threads previous pages. We already gave tips and helpful hints on how to time, and consistently hit it.
Vhaeraun Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Finished 2nd place on the recent local UNIEL tourney we had. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r6tMZdqEO-Uhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C_2jLyivby8https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O8JpV6V0zBA Lots of dropped combos + (a little) tourney jitters. I don't know any route from near corner dash c that has Vacant thrust and force function :v
Zouf Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Good job If I could suggest you one thing, you should stop doing 3B after 236A 236A in corner. Instead, catch him with 2C. It has a larger hitbox, more active frames, and you'll lose almost nothing damage wise (like 30 or 40 at most) It's so much easier this way. Other than that, doing 66C okizeme on gordeau is pretty risky. If your timing is slightly off, you'll either eat GR EX or command throw EX, because 623C will turn into 214C. Both win against 66C.
Vhaeraun Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 I will try omitting the dash 3b and see how it works for me when I get home. And from my experience, more often than not, the crossup dash c makes their preferred reversal whiff. And if they did EX GRIMREAPER, I receive little damage and no knockback, which is a punish opportunity after its animation. Yes, it is risky but it's okay. I'm used to playing risky stuff Thanks for the feedback! EDIT Wow, Omitting 3b is indeed easier!
