I forgot to post this before:

ALL GGXX versions of old songs are horrible compared to their respective GG1 / GGX versions (except Fuuga, but that's a really strange case).

I can't still forgive what they did to Holy Orders (horrible), Blue Water (horrible), Feel a Fear (TOTALLY SHITTY), A Solitude (WTF WERE THEY THINKING) and Make Oneself ( :8/: )

This is why I specified in my post which versions of which songs I meant. Suck a Sage is one of the few songs that are better in XX; most of the rest are worse. In particular, Solitude and Elegance lost a lot of the nice background riffs, and Babel Noise's percussion died.

I mentioned this in the comments on Suck a Sage XX's YouTube page and I think the comment's score was at about -12 last I checked.

I dunno some versions of the GGX2's music I prefer, some I like the GGX versions more. Then even those that are inferior still sound pretty good. Solitude and Pot's theme got nerfed hardest though. I think Sol's theme sounds better in GGX2 though, despite it being a little less busy. The drums are more noticeable.

Feel a Fear actually sounds better in XX IMO.

No it doesn't:

-A lot shorter.

-The awesome heavy intro was changed with... something softer.

-Because thing is shorter, it doesn't have that nice guitar solo near the mid of song.

-A lot more repetitive and monotone.

XX Suck a Sage is another exception, even though I never liked that they never returned the guitar solo from the GG1 version.

hmm...from GG and GGX only ones of the top of my head that stick out are....

Conclusion(GG obviously), Beyond the Dark Life(GG), No Mercy(GGX), Still in the Dark(GGX), Awe of She(GGX),

only GGXX era ones that i particularly like are

Keep the Flag Flying, Keep in Gates, and the Midnight Carnival.

Guilty Gear's soundtrack was definitely ahead of it's time when it came out. Some of the music in there pretty much made me go "...the hell am I listening to third strike for?"

Hey wait up now 3rd Strike's soundtrack is still pretty awesome. A different kind of awesome but definitely one of the best soudntracks for a fighter. I would say the SF3 series was the highlight of SF as far as music goes. Well...really I guess for SF in general.

I think the best way to experience the GGX tracks is the heavy rock versions, since the original tracks' sound system sounds really outdated now.

Honestly, I prefer the GGX2 Awe of She over the GGX original as well, though maybe that's cause I heard it first. I know it's supposed to be the other way around but the GGX version I just don't like as much.

It's the synth. GGX's version has a more noticeable synth sound through it(I don't know much about instruments but listen to the two side by side and you'll know what I mean).

Though maybe this version surpasses both.

lol true, but being the young kid i was at the time the idea of a different style fighting game with different music was just plain awesome to me :D

well that and I actually had time to play both fighting games at the time. ah...junior high. absolutely no worries or obligations to get in the way of playing.
