Yeah, I don't do that much as well lol all I did was move around/test out a combo or to under delay then that's it I can adjust to it on the fly. But then again, I can't do bedmans loops yet in general so subject to change imo lol. Well hopefully there will be another patch anyway

I just wanted to retract some of the previous negative views I put out about the netcode. After making some adjustments to my ps3 network settings (custom), I was able to have steady 2f matches that really felt like less at many points. However I did run into some 6f plus people, but that was in a packed player room with people spectating.

Can you tell me what you did?

Is the huge static (12F typical) frame delay a PS3-only thing right now?

It would seem to be the cause since a lobby labled "12F kicked" had PS4 players only.

In general, it seemed that the only ones bothering to try to play online were those listed as using the PS4 version.

There's no question that something was terribly broken with the latest patch.

It's completely different now.

Yea I'm getting same thing as wel, 4 Bar PS4 players = 12 Frame, and unplayable for me.

Ahh well guess I need to avoid PS4 players for mean time...

Yeah it seems that the main issue is ps3 vs ps4 netplay I keep getting 12 frames vs ps4. While vs ps3 I got alot of 3-5 frames which is better. I'd say avoid cross play for now...

Are those of you having these synchronization difficulties playing in your own hosted lobby, or some other 3rd party's lobby?

Posted

I've always had manual setting wired connection set up for PS3 specifically to avoid issues.

I even tried direct modem connection for a while to see if there was any possibility of an issue.

No. Changing your network settings will not fix what is going on now.

Frame delay display was not 'fixed' either.

Lobbies are now timing out, people are are dropping matches left and right (others as well), and 12F is definitely 12F.

The vast majority of matches were very playable for 2 weeks, and then immediately after the patch I'm lucky to even be able to connect properly.

It's 100% ASW's fault on this one.

I had a couple of playable matches on this patch as well, but those are the exception to the rule now.

Those saying otherwise are likely just PS4-PS4 after all the PS3 players gave up trying.

Me and another ps3 guy played with the same ps4 user, both of us had constant 12f delay while he had like 2f lol

The only thing that NAT is going to have an impact on is whether you can connect properly and have access to certain services.

If you're already connecting to matches just fine, but are lagging, NAT will not do anything really.

It's an all or nothing kind of thing.

I too was having very little issue playing online up until this patch. I played every day with randoms in lobbies and for the most part everything was fine. After the patch 80% of my matches are 12F.

12f thing is a bug I think.  I have no idea why it's doing it but it seems to be locking a lot of games in at 12f for no reason.  Hopefully Arcsys fixes it soon cause it's pretty much making netplay unplayable.

1) At this point we can't break 2 frame delay, because we don't have technology for delivery of packcages at that speed. So no fighting game can break 2F delay wall now.
2) We have russian lobby with 16-20 people playing simultaneously almost every evening, I have poor connection against 2 of them. Every one else is stable 2F.

Thank you finally someone with sense, i'v posted this so many times and only a handful of people took note. Time for physics 101 with Dr.Negative  :eng101:

You lot need to respect this technology, electricity is the passing of electrons between atoms and us humans are taking readings from it.

Light is 'generated' when electrons move to a different 'shell' a photon is released. Shit works on a level that is incomprehensible to a human,

A standard sensor is awkward to program on its own, I hate to think what the worlds 'backbone netcode' is like. Plus the fact internet is big business and all the DRM and limitation make shit more awkward than it needs to be.

So I have come to a conclusion on the 12 frame problem, well at least my problem.

I noticed every ps4 player has a 4bar connection with me, but I get 12f delay from them while they report getting 2-4f delay.

Every ps3 player has 1-4 bar connections, and I actually get 2-8 frame delays with them.

So basically if you own a ps3, don't fight ps4 players...

If you have issues with the game showing 12f delay all the time, go to network options and try setting up your connection on PS3/4 manually. Type in your primary/secondary DNS, gateway etc. It didn't fix anything for me, but at least now it's showing the correct delay depending on the amount of bars the people I play have.

It's pretty obvious the 12 frames isn't accurate if you play with frame delay in training mode.

Some matches start at 2 for character loading then bounce to a solid '12' frame delay for the entire match

The numbers felt more reliable pre-patch.

I find any sort of frame delay no matter what game has more effect on your combos if you do them with visual cues as opposed to muscle memory.

I was playing with a PS4 guy and he reported seeing 2-3f delay on his end.  I had 12f delay on my end and it may not have been quite that bad but it was definitely still pretty bad.  I was trying to jump forward low airdash with May and I couldn't even get the airdash to come out even if I input it from like two character heights above the ground.  I had to buffer the airdash almost at the top of the jump to make it come out before I touched the ground.

I have no issues myself. Under normal circumstances the game feels like playing offline and I can guard quite well too. I'm using the AkSys' PS3 version of the game with a direct wire to the router connected to a 100/100 optic fiber connection. I live in the Netherlands and have been able to fight the French, Germans and Swedes without a hitch. The people in UK tend to give me problems however (Excessive delay).

After talking to quite a few players and concluded its a cross platform problem. Every ps3 player will get 12f delay against a ps4 player. The ps4 player will still have a awesome connection though against a ps3 player.

So please play against people of the same console, ps4 players will always have a massive upper hand against ps3 players!

Working as intended obviously.

Wow good thing I found and read this.  I should be playing against players that have a PS3 now until Arc System Works can solve the problem if that is possible.  It's probably best to avoid Ranked Match as well (At least for me).

But it's read 12f delay vs ps3 players so?

And if frame delays and connection numbers are based on both players so how would that work.

I don't know the science to it, its just what's been happening. Ps4 players I've fought enjoy a 2-4 frame delay while I'm getting 12 frame delay. I know what you mean though, I thought it was a shared delay but... Its not...
