BlazBlue Central Fiction's console version has now been confirmed for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3. Joining the playable cast from the XBlaze games comes Es. XBlaze Code:Embryo and XBlaze Lost:Memories are visual novels set in the same multiverse as BlazBlue. While largely unconnected, they share a lot of the same lore terminology and the main character from Lost:Memories resembles BlazBlue's Nine to such an extent that many believe they are the same person.

More details on new character Es, game modes and an interview with series creator and producer Toshimichi Mori to come in a 10-page feature in this week's Famitsu.

This weekend Mikado is having it's usual Xrd tournament filled with high level players. However, In an effort to to make content catered towards the Western audience, they've decided to host 2 Jack-O exhibitions as well since she is a new character that the West can now access via the demo on PS4.

Hase (Slayer) vs Mike (Jack-O) will take place sometime before or after the usual 3on3 April 9, 2016 Saturday night JST at the usual place: twitch.tv/joniosan (follow him!). Unlike most events at Mikado however, this will feature English commentary by Jazz aka Majinobama.

FG (Jack-O) vs Samitto (Chipp) will take place on Sunday, April 10, at 12:30 PM JST. (Thus, it will air live Saturday night in the Americas!) This will be broadcast on Majinobama's personal channel, twitch.tv/Majinobama.

GGXrd-R_Logo.png.14b00d1b38c308a2f5a8404In case you missed the announcement at Anime Ascension, Aksys announced that if you pre order the game for PS4 on PSN, you'll get access to a demo of the game, but they didn't mention a date... until now! Mark your calendars for April 4th!

But the demo is not just your ordinary demo - it comes with arcade mode, local versus mode, and training mode! It will have all arcade characters (sorry, no Raven, Kum Haehyun, Dizzy).

Do note that this offer is only for PS4 download version of the game on PSN, not disc!
Be sure to thank Aksys for giving everyone a chance to start training ahead of the game's full release on June 7th.

The Act 3 update includes the Act 3 arcade mode stories and a new single player mode in the form of "Alliance Mode". In Alliance Mode, players control a 4-character team in fights against other teams of 4. Upon defeating an enemy team, the player can trade one of their own characters for one from the defeated team to strengthen their own team.

We've been blessed with a double feature: a demonstration of Raven and Kum Haehyun featuring Ogawa, FAB, Machaboo, Mocchi, Nage, and LOX!

And if that weren't enough, they also do a regular 3v3 using their mains to boot!

As aways with pre-release events, do note the new characters are not finalized and may be different upon final release.

Dizzy is also teased with a silhouette.

Raven has been revealed to be a playable character in the console version Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator. Originally appearing as a story NPC, Raven made his debut as a playable character in Guilty Gear 2: Overture but Revelator marks the first time that he's playable in a fighting game. One of the servants of That Man, Raven is a masochist who gets stronger the more damage he takes.

    • I definitely had to build a lot of muscle memory but also hand strength in my left hand. I don't play WASD keyboard movement games so when I was first starting on leverless I literally did not have the hand strength to consistently move my fingers quickly for motions, and my hand got tired easily. That took some getting used to.   I've been on leverless for ~3 years now, and although there's still quite a lot of stuff I'm better at on stick (which I played on for 14 years, so it would be surprising if I could close the gap quickly!) I generally prefer it overall and can do most of my stuff equally well or better. The only thing I really struggle with is very fast and clean half circle motions.   I play on an ergonomic ver~l leverless controller now. It's the most comfortable controller I've ever used, and is much easier on my aging hands than anything else I've used. I still play some games on stick but I very strongly prefer my vertical leverless for most stuff.
    • I had actually made a thread about D&B on the Shmups.System11 Forums a while back, but nobody responded.   I actually do not own this game as of yet but it looks interesting and has some connections to Guilty Gear and BlazBlue, so I thought it might be fun discussing it as a topic.   I technically disagree with Ishiwatari’s view that Azure Grimoire and the Tome of Origin are the same book, but from a creative non-lore standpoint I guess you could say they are similar.   Someone also pointed out “William” who seems to share a similar hobby to Axl Low.   An interview with Ishiwatari seems to suggest that his writing is based on a “possible past” and a “possible future” and that D&B is set in the former (with GG’s plot I assume as the latter).   Anyway just think of this as a catch all thread for Damon & Baby!
