Japanese Relius Tutorial Video

If you're looking to study up on Relius before his release on console, some kind people on Niconico video have posted a video tutorial, and Jourdal has been kind enough to mirror it on youtube. There are two parts to this video; beginner and advanced.

Be warned that it's all in Japanese, but you can still learn quite a few useful techniques even if you don't speak moonrunes.

Eurogamer.net was given the first inside scoop of the latest Skullgirls character, introducing Valentine, a nurse who isn't the least bit squeamish about spilling some blood. She is swift and nimble like a shinobi and attacks with various surgical equipment including hacksaws and syringes (filled with poison!) She's also been known to toss around a corpse or two.

Skullgirls latest characters sure have been getting pretty dark, far from the norm and hopefully this drastic change in direction wins over fans still on the fence. The game is still slated for "early 2012" on the Playstation Network and Xbox Live Arcade, but for now you can hit the jump to see the first shots of this bloody Valentine.

The BlazBlue Revolution is coming to the USA!

Arc System Works is hosting the BlazBlue Revolution in Japan this March, and thanks to Aksys Games we're gonna get a piece of the action!



Basically Aksys Games is going to host a tournament and the winner gets a free trip to Japan (airfare and hotel) to compete in the BlazBlue Revolution tournament! Think of it as SBO for BlazBlue.

Restriction: Winners MUST have their US passport or equivalent document by 2/25. NO EXCEPTIONS.

After its first North American unveiling at NorthWest Majors, Aksys Games will continue its nation-wide tour this December as they travel to Philadelphia, PA for North East Championships on December 3-4 and Irvine, CA for Southern California Regionals on December 17-18 to give us more preview play time with the console version of BlazBlue Continuum Shift: Extend before it gets released worldwide.

Not only will both majors have BBCSE playable, Aksys Games will also throw in a $1000 pot bonus money for each major's respective BBCS2 tournament, so the stakes are raised for the last CS2 majors of the year. So come out and support the tourneys if you can, or stream monster it up!

Painwheel Rages Throughout Skullgirls

You've heard the murmurs, you may have seen her profile now located on the official website, but now Reverge Labs have fully shown off our first solid look at their latest character for Skullgirls. Painwheel was once an ordinary girl until she was captured by the Anti-Skullgirls Lab Zero and turned into a fearsome and destructive force, but deep down there's still an innocent girl crying for freedom.

You can see her introduction on the archive of the latest episode of Gamepot.com's webshow "On the Spot" (luckily the Skullgirls segment is the first up on the video, which includes a sneak peak at the main menu as well) You can also hit the jump for the Youtube version of the show.

Painwheel may appear smaller and more lithe than the other characters thus far but she's just as, if not more, dangerous than the rest of the cast. This is possible through her character specific mechanic which allows her to charge her Normal attacks, during this brief period if she is attacked she won't be phased and her attack will push forward, any damage incurred gets added onto the power of her attack. Through careful timing you can deal twice the normal damage.

She's also able to hover around and stick around till the end of the segment to see a really amazing looking Super attack! Another visually and technically impressive character, once again Reverge Labs is outdoing themselves.

This brings the character roster to 6, with 8 planned for the game's launch, so it looks like everything is still on track for the game's "Early 2012" release window.

Presenting the recent events and results happening at The Philippines Scene of BBPH

BBPH just concluded a recent event at an Anime Convention called "Ame Monogatari"
along with spreading the game of Blazblue to more people we also had a 3v3 Team Battle!

The turned out was better than expected as about 6-7 teams were formed on the day itself prior to the pre-registration. Players from various areas from the Philippines took part in the 3v3 tournament (North, South, Capital, Central, and Cosplayers too). Of course both BBPH members and visitors enjoyed the moment
