    Everyone is roughly the same, waking up. What is Millia doing that Chipp isn't? What do you mean by "more luck"? Are you screwing up your falling bear due to the difference in wakeup speed between Chipp and Millia?
  3. AC doesn't let you OS between a throw and a FD. 4H~X results in a FD. But you can OS between a burst and a throw. The D is there to act as the burst/throw OS, but since you have no burst you get a dust instead, from which you can cancel to a FD. This ghetto 4H~D~X thing is how you do old-school airthrow spamming. I forget, can you do this on the ground?

  5. I try to never use Ensenga as an overhead. I think it's too slow and I think everyone who counters it with a running 6P would agree. whatever, maybe my play standards are too high. i'll just leave the thread
  6. Last I checked, green throw break window was 13 frames. And purple throw break window was something absurd. Maybe the numbers I have also take in to account throw startup. It's either 13 or 20 frames. If 13 = throwStartup+breakWindow that might explain why Japan still gets thrown. Viewlex cabs have a bit of display lag. Either way my point still stands. If you're landing throw-reject-miss on people, then you're just fighting people that are trying to anticipate the throw, when they should be reacting. Just realize that they are using a sub-optimal strategy. You're totally free to take advantage of that, but becareful not to tune your gameplan too sharply towards it.
  7. I don't expect the majority to be good at anything. Just saying, on paper, throwing is a gimmick. 13 frame break window, haven't even counted the startup of throws yet. Tekken throws are roughly 13 frames, and people break them all day. They don't even have the benefit of a huge break indicator. One year has passed. At this point, it shouldn't even be a mental thing. Anyone who's serious about the game have had plenty of time to turn it from a mental thing to a plain reflex, no thought required. And yeah, I watch a japanese cs video, or two, every once in a while to see what's up. And yeah, I see them getting thrown too, and that's when I close the video. Just because Japan is still getting hit by it isn't a good excuse for mediocrity.
  8. Practicing ticks-throws (or throws of any kind, except command throws) sounds sub-optimal. I wouldn't waste my time, even before option-selects. I've been out of the loop for like a year, but, above the intermediate level, can people still not break throws every single time?
  9. How many people play this game nation wide? 30-ish? And it's not like we're individually scattered across the US. Anything beyond a thread is overkill, really. If I wanna talk arcana I just talk with the other players in person. Not to be a killjoy, but a website would only serve to pass information to people who can't make use of it. Cathy-players seem to of found a solution against Tyr. So now people counter-arcana Cathy players with plant and setup plant unblockables that are easy to do against Cathy's huge hitbox.

  15. aside from a forum, what else do you want? A wiki? if you want guides like dustloop, it's all coded up by hand a place like tekkenzaibatsu probably has some sort of content managing system going on

I'm going to copy&paste what I posted for someone on SRK http://shoryuken.com/f322/best-way-getting-better-241359/ To elaborate more: When you're fresh, you got a million things you could improve on, but you don't want to try to improve everything all at once. You probably don't even know what 2/3's of your problems are. Don't worry about winning or losing. Just worry about improving. Look over your matches and figure out situations you can't beat, or points that could be done better. Pick out one or two things to improve on, and just focus on improving those things. One step at a time. Don't worry about the end result. Worry about righting your mistakes. As you improve, success will follow with it. Also, what character do you play? (BBCT has some severe matchups.)
  17. I was talking about more damage, also. Venom's throw doesn't do more damage with more guardbar. Though, it will do less with less guardbar.

  20. It's different for every throw. Some do more damage, or gain counterhit, from more guardbar, others don't.
  21. In almost all fighting games, when you block an attack, your hitbox is fixed to the hitbox of whatever guard animation for the duration of the guardstun. So if you guard an attack high, and someone followups with an attack that normal whiffs if you're crouching, but doesn't whiff if you're standing, the attack won't whiff. Regardless of if you are crouching. A simple example is something like, With Ky, do a stunedge>FRC>IAD j.S and have someone block the stunedge standing, then immediately go to a crouch. If you do it right, they can't crouch the j.S to make it whiff. The term originated from 3D games, and got mangled on it's why to 2D games. In 3D games, it means something completely different.
