  1. was GG recorded or something?
  2. The most convenient way to get it is to get someone to game"share" it with you. But that involves that someone to give you their account info and take one of their 4 remaining redownloads. That's the only way to get the game without making a Jap account. All the other ways, you gotta make an account, but it's balls easy. Don't even have to get up off the couch. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_Kfm0gCTX0 If you know someone in Japan or some other Asian country that sells Jap PSN cards, you can ask them to buy one for ya and have them email the code or something. Play-asia sells them, and I think they give you an option of forgoing shipping and they'll email you the code. Getting Chaos Breaker was the easiest import I've ever done.
  3. TOMORRROW Chaos Breaker tournament, 5 bucks, ya? let's do that!
  4. Oh he can fight now? That's a step up from CT. Good shit.
  5. Couldn't Tager players more easily take this question, turn it around, and ask: What makes BlazBlue fair?
  6. OMG, it's been sooo long since I've played a fighting game where mistakes feel like you just took a bullet, and not a slap on the wrist. You like games like ST or CvS2? Huge punishes, large importance on positioning, and a single mistake can ripple through out the rest of the match; not just round, the entire match! This game literally fell out of time, 2004 to be precise, back when you couldn't even make one mistake. None of this hand holding we got going on now. I'm so glad it didn't get a console port till now. Otherwise it might of died with all the other pre-SF4 games. But now it has a chance, as evident by you coming to this thread. Also, vids out for this game are of questionable quality. As far as I know, there's only one arcade in Japan that plays this game at all, TRF, and sometimes their tournament vids range from players never missing a hitconfirm or combo and impeccable spacing, to players that block everything with their face. Maybe with console release, TRF's scene will become more consistent. Or maybe America will take to the game, like MvC2?...
  7. It's hard to evaluate characters outside of the arcanas. Arcana selection really does matter, except for maybe the supposed top-tiers. I dunno if AH3 is balanced. But as of right now it feels balanced. Rather then say the game is balanced, I would say the game is largely unexplored. If you consider each character+arcana combination a different character (which I do) then that's 23 x 23 = 529 characters. So that's 529 x 529 = 279841 matchups. Guilty Gear only has 529 matchups. If we start at XX, people didn't really start knowing the game till around 3 or 4 years in. Super Turbo has 1024 matchups. It's over 15 years old and I hear people are still finding new wrinkles. Arcana Heart only has 4 years of accumulated knowledge, and AH3 brought about some big changes. So everything is almost reset. How long till we can start being confident about what we know? Asking if AH3 is balanced is the wrong question. No one can answer that question with confidence, and I don't think that question even matters. Right now, AH3 is fun. And part of what makes AH3 fun is how much of the game is simply unknown. There's so much to the game left to explore and every character seems to have boundless potential. So what if the game turns out to be unbalanced. How many years is it going to be before we figure that out? By that time, we might of gotten so good and have such a deep understanding of the game that we'll be like those OG ST players that make Zangief vs Dhalsim look 4:6.
  8. what does qualifying for SBO have to do with EVO Japan?
  9. little eddie macro glitch happens on reg AC also
  10. Ragna's DP's have invulnerability. He only needs 1 frame to activate the DP then he lets the invulnerability carry him through the startup frames and hit you.
  11. waa waa waa Come on people. I don't play Noel but I can atleast see from the frame data that any normal that isn't block punishable by a character's A attacks are already bait for 2D or 4D.
  12. and here's some startup 5a: 13 6a: 18 5b: 17 6b: 21 5c: 21 6c: 23 5d: 20 2d: 19 6d: 26 4d: 25 j.4d: ? Bloom Trigger: 20 Assault Through: 31 Spring Raid: 8 and move levels 5a: 3 6a: 3 5b: 4 6b: 4 5c: 4 6c: 3 5d: 4 2d: 4 6d: 3 4d: 4 j.4d: ? Bloom Trigger: 4 Assault Through: 4 Spring Raid: 4 and now people can start discussing things like strings and traps
  13. I counter-arcana Heart with Mirror. lol Flower you can plant three flowers massive meter gainage. pick a corner, lay your garden, turtle. You can eat your flowers for some random bonus that I haven't figured out yet.
  14. With all the universal mechanics in the game, mainly homing and the way meter works, no character is ever completely helpless (ala Tager) in any matchup. Not to mention swapping out arcanas to deal with trouble matchups. but Lise is probably still tops
  15. Games where people's opinions of tiers differ all over the place is a sign of a Good Gameā„¢ imo or a weak competitive scene.. :x names of people, I assume
  16. they didn't fix the speed when they re-released AC ;_; but whatever, ah3 port arcade perfect or not, i'm going to play it (chaos breaker also, woooo)
  17. we're going with the wreck a house option I see
  18. 4r5

    Option Select

    yes
  19. 2 frames is 1 second cut in half 7 or 8 times. It's a little bit more than that, because the console port runs faster than arcade. But anyways, it's pretty fast. So yeah, set out the YoYo, hold HS, let go of HS, then hold HS again. That's all there is to it. Last part just has to be done really really fast. The trick is to keep practicing.
  20. No problem, Circ! To keep the thread on the topic on-topic, I will post this here: How is this the most interesting thing being discussed on the forum right now?
  21. You are missing the point. It's not about arcade authenticity. It's about no one being special and deserving of accommodations. If you decide to play, then you play as you are. Whether you are playing on pad, or playing with a broken button, or playing with an amputated hand. but regardless, EVO allows in-game buttons macros, and thus all US tournaments allow in-game button macros. The war was fought, and in the end our say didn't really matter.
