  3. Street Fighter is doomed.
  4. Hecatom on that SRK hivemind. People who play SF4 are more likely to one day play other fighting games, than people who don't play fighters at all. And SF4 bought in a lot of new blood. Do people seriously not see this? People who have never heard of Melty Blood or Guilty Gear now know of it, because they came to a local SF4 tournament and saw MB and GG taking up an entire side of the room. My local CvS2 scene has gotta a kind of mini-resurgence, 'cause they managed to pull in the SF4 new blood. A few SF4-heads around here have started branching out to other fighters, like BB and Tekken. All this could not of happened with out a new game like SF4. I know many people wish SF4 wasn't that game, or that SF4 didn't come out to play the way it does, but them's the breaks. Capcom puts out SF4 with a hype train never before seen in fighting games, people go out and pre-order their collector's editions and their Tournament Edition MadCatz SF4 Sticks; Yeah, people are going to be playing SF4 and not your game. But that doesn't mean they won't one day give your game a try. Just like how all the pre-existing GG and Tekken players were a pool of potential SF4 players. The same is true for other games. These new SF4 players are a resource that can be tapped. When that day comes, what are you going to tell them? That SF4 is a crap game, and you should of been playing this game all along? (That actually how the local CvS2 got its mini-resurgence. But that's a special case 'cause the CvS2 scene is also responsible for there being a local SF4 scene at all.) Holy Order Ky is already in the game. You mean King Ky.
  5. Reioumu knows all about Heart's damage output, trust me, he's legit.

  18. Nothing to apologize for. Pro tip to starting up a scene at UMBC: Take whatever game you're trying to play. Go to Gameroom. Play your game. Even if it's just for training mode. (But stay at home if you're just going to be playing Story mode, unless you're trying to get hip with the anime club) It also helps to be informative and not a weirdo or jerk. A big part of fighting games is who you're with. No one wants to hang out with a douchebag. If I could go from me to 20-some odd people (back down to 1 or 2 people...) with a little known, import-only, game like Guilty Gear, you can do it with a well(er)-known domestic released game like Blazblue.
  19. If it's one thing the US has, it's Fiona players.
  20. Were you that guy that was new to UMBC and walked from campus to Xanadu? Alot of us have graduated from UMBC. I dunno if the gameroom is as hot as it use to be. I think the generation that associates multiplayer with leaving the house has passed, and the new gen is all online now. The gameroom is on the 2nd floor of the commons, you can take a nap there or something. And the LCD's lag, btw.
  21. 1.5 was atomisware, right? Gotta support it, but obviously they didn't have enough faith in the new hardware to put their main line up on it.
  22. Tyr. EF constantly. Every time, all the time.
  23. -< ..... }Y{ Kenji playing Anji, doing Butterfly.
  24. Practice makes perfect. Seriously, just do your time and take your falls. I don't remember the last time someone learned to ride a bike by not riding a bike.
  25. All PS2 ports of AC are sped up. Jap AC, Jap AC+, US AC, and US AC+; I dunno about the Wii ports, but my friend says that timings feel the same between PS2 and Wii. And I got no way to measure by how much. US AC, Jap AC+, and US AC+ are as close as you can get to arcade perfect. If you're buying the console port to practice for playing in arcades, you're just going to have to deal. And I feel sorry for you if you're planning to main Slayer. If you aren't planning to play in arcades, then you'll just get use to the PS2 speed.
