was talking mainly as a poke, in pressure if you're out of blockstun it'll probably work but yeah it'll depend on the move he does before. its teching at the 2nd j.B, first j.B connect and he flips before the second one hits unless I only hit only 1 hit of the j.5C. Had to use j236A coz j236B put me too high >.>

About the OP notes, his chip moves are 5D and j.D mainly, while is is true that they technically do less if you take the hit as opposed to blocking if he has lvl3, you have to keep in mind they are normals and are cancellable on hit and can go into a full combo for 5k+ if he has lvl3 so i wont advise getting purposely hit. It can be worth it if your barrier is about to run out to save it but it depends on the Amane coz if they can react faster enough and see that they 5D/j.D hit they can covert to a lot of damage. They arent cancellable on block though (which is why you see Amane usually do 5D (blocked) RC 5D again) so unless they RC you have some breathing room to backdash/jump/do whatever. Another option is to use Growler and absorb it and technically avoid both the hit and chip damage but if they bait that you're eating a hefty combo. Amane's 2A/5A have no reach so you use 5BB,5C,3C and other stuff and frametraps quite often as he cant try to "poke out" of your pressure. He also has no overheads aside from j.A (which sucks) so you can block low with no worries. Amane will usually throw out a 5C if he thinks you'll try to jump/IAD in and that whiffs on crouchers so you can gustaf/dash in if you bait that out. Once he notices you're crouching they'll start using 2C more and you can IAD that for a full combo, he can 5D in that range as well but you can use growler to absorb that and in that range you have more options and you're too close for his C normals to hit you. so yeah its a lot of reads and baiting but its kinda tough to get in depending on the Amane's style. -
My Amane is still booty but here's my 2 cents from my experience so far against a local Ragna player. This matchup isnt too bad but its still frustrating coz in gaps where other characeters can 2A/5A Amane's doesnt reach and we get CH so we have to backdash and give up momentum just to stay safe. Very read dependent. 5B is amazing against Amane's stuff, he can sit between 5B and C normal's range and just toss that around like there's no tomorrow and there's not much we can do about it, faphop back to j.5C works but he can TK bloodscythe/hells fang/scissors and it'll CH you. Dont try to poke unless its 5D at its max/almost max range, his shit outranges our 5B/2B/3C by a large margin. Ragna cants use Blooscythe vs Amane coz our 6A goes to 4k+ CH combo if he tries that which is nice, that move is mad annoying. Just watch out for the cross up one coz you'll need to do 6A the other way around. You'll see this mostly if Ragna's cornered coz if you let him get away with it you'll be the one cornered instead. you can 236B dead spike on reaction and get a j.B to full combo. Ragna can ID then RC to negate Hariken drills so keep that in mind. Not sure if this works on lvl2/3 drills but it negates the lvl1 for sure. Idk if I was fuckin up or if its Ragna's hurtbox but for the go-to throw combo (throw 236B j.C(2) 6C(2) 2C(2) 236A j.B j.B j.236C) I couldnt get it to work unless the j.C is 1 hit only or he flips out.

Yeah just got hit by that today for trying 6B after reading Bane's post, not doing that shit again coz air 360 covers that or if you try to jump >.< 214A seems like safest option coz air 360 doesnt catch it then you can 214A/B to get more space. fabhops go really crazy when magnetized so thats at least an option to throw Tager off, seems you go up forward as opposed to closer to Tager which is kinda weird.

I mainly hate that his A normals have NO range, you cant use it to interrupt pressure with gaps like other characters you have to take the backdash route or back zettou which sucks coz its wasted damage.

Curious is there a good Blazblue tutorial vid that helps explain the game's mechanics for new players? I know there's a good GG one but I havent seen one of BB.

blindspot? I'm pretty sure 5D and 236A~ j.C cover the area between 5B and the C normals.. its an annoying matchup for sure but we have a lot more options compared to matchups like Hazama or Valk.

K about the fients Bacon mentioned, I've been watching Iwao's matches and he uses that quite often. Stuff like 2a 2b 5b 236D~D 5b 2c 3c 236D~D mostly followed up by 5b into more pressure. Looks like it can be used for pressure off of stuff that give some room so that their mashed normals wont hit you and your 5b will CH them. Also do we have anything consistent off of non-CH 5C on aerial opponents? 6C doesnt seem to work and they flip out before i can get zettou j.B to combo.

I'm not a fan of the stricter 623 input either, its honestly driving me away from playing Amane. So far there's not much I dont like about this game but I DEFINITELY hate this nonsense.

Yeah most casuals wont import a $70+ game if theyre not gonna play it seriously. Too much of a hassle for them.

this shit is mad irritating. I've never had to "end" the dp in 3 in any other game, its freakin retarded that it reads 6236 as a fireball. And from what I'm reading its character specific? what the shit dude..

Yeah if you end the DP motion with 6 instead of 3 you'll get a fireball everytime, not liking this at all ~___~

K am I the only one having issues getting gekiren out? i keep getting raibu instead and its pissing me off ~___~; Also 6B has a lot less range than I expected, Idk why I thought he'd be flying in till he makes contact (like Athena's butt move in KoFXIII), instead he bounces off the air even if no one's there lol.

Yeah I'm not seeing the resemblance with Jin. The cross up thing seems like it miiiight just work but its too risky as there'll be a huge gap there where they can smack you for your troubles. If it does work could be alright as a once in a while gimmick. Question for the guys that have been following, does Amane looks like he has any matchups in his favor? any MUs lookin really bad? I know Haku looks like its no walk in the park and Valk seems like it'll be nothing but a nightmare.

Lol I love Boa and have my arcade stick themed around her but she really is a very odd choice. Seems they didnt want to use Nami or Robin coz their gameplay wouldnt have been that good as they're not really fighters. Guess coz they dont have enough female leads they're gonna pull stuff like this to try to even odd the male/female cast. I wouldve loved to see Lala as a playable character, Rukia too! smh the supports that they just revealed wouldve been awesome on the playable side. Such a waste..

Lookin real solid so far, I didnt know j.A was his only overhead, for some reason I thought j.2B and 6B are overheads but I guess not. Need to study up on the Amane tech more before the game comes out. The video links are awesome too as they're all of different Amane players and show you a lot of things you can do and ways to play the character. At this point I think the guide is as good as it gets without our hands on the game. One thing you can do is maybe make a list of stuff that needs to be tested and post it so we can all help out in making the guide more complete once the game hits. -
