[P4AU] Ken Amada Combo Thread (Updated 09/30/2014)
Eternal Blaze replied to VR-Raiden's topic in Ken Amada
Any good fatal combos yet? like what should be my go-to combo when I get a fatal opportunity? -
yeah the gap in 5AA is the reason I asked this, but if 5A/2A>2B is air-tight then I'm good i'll start using that instead. About Doge, how are you guys using him? do you have him out most of the match or do you actual keep him out till you get something going? I'm asking coz in some matchups they can just body him for free so I feel lost not being to use him to help me get in/start pressure.
-
So quick question, does Ken have any true blockstrings? that's my issue atm as it seems everything he does has gaps in it (236C/D aside I guess).
-
AA 5c j.B-2C-C 66C 236A 236B 214B+D 66C 421A/C That's my combo at least lol. You can also go into 236A>stuff.
-
Doesn't it also get beat by lows?
-
so, for blockstrings/frametraps. Been watching a fair amount of Yuzu footage and these are some of the most used ones I've seen. 5a 5c 2a 2a 5a 2a 5c 4C 6b© 44 236B 5B 2a 2a 5c 2c 2a (whiff) 2c 5c 5a (whiff) throw 66b 2a 2c 5a 5c 2b 4c 421B 66B 5A 2b 2c 5a 5b 2a 2b 2c 2b 4c It's not much but it gave me a good idea on how to start with pressuring the opponent and opening them up.
-
Yeah netplay is no bueno for Yuzu, any lag easily messes up slide holds and D cancels. It's my only option for right now so I'll have to hold dat :|
-
so what's the best combo to do after an assault j.2c? coz unless it's CH the charged j.2c route doesn't work.. Also how's sliding inputs working for you guys online? coz I keep getting stuff like 236C instead of 236B~C all the time and it's bugging the hell outta me. seems 41236D is her only invincible move which sucks but whatever. Do any of you know the properties of 4B? like is it invincible? does it counter lows? can it counter EXS moves? she's super fun but I have no objective so far, her pressure/frametraps feel lacking so I'm just throwing stuff onto the screen and hoping I get a hit ~__~

Yeah that's a pretty accurate list. We won't be seeing any high-level stuff in this game so a list like that is the best we're gonna get. -

I'm almost done with Boa, Raoh and Shishio. Just need to get over this fever and I'll finish them asap ~__~ -
Honestly on the opponent's wake-up just double jump and land with an attack, there's no moves in this game that work as "anti-air" so air approaches are more or less free, like.. if you're in the air but in the their sight and they have their lock-on on you the light attacks will track you upwards (which looks retarded btw), but if you're directly above them they cant do anything aside from a few characters that have 360 hitting moves Like Vegeta, Toguro, Sasuke etc There's blocking/just guarding ofc and maybe some characters can dodge but I'm talking offensively.

Nice, so dashing is free in Godspeed mode then? That's good to know - Yeah I dont even know whats up with t+S anymore, I've seen it beat normals and projectiles and I've had it activate on it's own so I thought it's a counter, but other times it just doesn't do shit <__> - Yeah apparently that works online (when random lagspikes kick in) but it's not a legit combo lol. Here's a legit one though: LLL (S auto followup) g+H HHHS then LLH/t+S/Assist extension to HHHS or Super, With Big Bang or Kumagawa assist this should be a 100% or close to it. -

A couple of things: -Killua has a transformation, Godspeed mode. You enter it after landing your Ultimate or by holding t+S. No clue on what it actually does though. -t+S is a counter that also works on projectiles (it wont hit them if they're far but Killua wont get hurt either). You can use it as an option select by holding it where if they attack you'll get the counter and if they don't you'll transform. Just tried it out and apparently it has some invincibility frames but its not a counter.. why isnt there a training mode :< ? - g+H (universal guard break) is stupid good as it covers mad range really quick and he goes to their back so even if they try to mash lights against it they'll get hit. Their only option is just guard or if they have a 360 attack like Vegeta's explosion. - His Just Guard: a chop to the back of the neck that crumples and you can combo after, basically what he did in the Heaven's Arena. It has solid tracking to the opponent's backs as long as theyre not doing some crazy string that's all over the place. - A combo I've been doing, dunno if it does more or less than the ones u listed (no training mode -__-) LLL (S auto followup) g+H HH t+S -

Lmk if there's anything I can do to help with this. I've been going in depth with a couple of characters so maybe I can cover them using your Kenshin guide format SoBa :D -
hmm it depends on the character and assist really, some characters can run away and spam projectiles and be very annoying to deal with like Vegeta and Saiki, but there are ways around it and some characters have multiple options against it.
-
haha yeah if there's anything I can help with lmk man, I'm still trying to figure out optimal combos and all the advanced stuff but I'll do what I can :D
-
Looks good to me.

I dont get why people keep mentioning AE Yun, he wasn't even the best character in that version <___> But yeah the point is that the broken characters that they spent 4 years trying to adjust and fix will all be back with the problems and BS they had before all at once, it'll be a mess. The only players that would probably be totally ok with it are 1) arent too serious about SF4 and just play it on the side 2) will get access to a broken version of their character(s) if they let this rock. If you simply love unorganized mindless chaos then I have the game for you, it's called Marvel vs Capcom 3

Ok so basically play more story mode so i can buy the rest of the cast? Fuckin lame but whatever lol, was planning on doing that anyway so it's not that big of a deal>__>; ok so you cant combo into the R1 specials, yeah I figured it's impossible outside of certain assists but people are mentioning cancels (Step cancels?) and shit all over so thought one of them might help in creating a way.. So with R1 specials out of the picture guess supers are on the same boat then and you cant' combo those either? Honestly the main thing I want right now is a guide with descriptions of the character's moves and properties, how to activate transformations and what effects they have.. any idea if a guide or something that has that exists already or would we have to wait? Like.. for characters that I'm familiar with the series they come from I can more or less guess or see what the character might do and what they'll need to activate/use a power, but there's so many characters that I dont even know the series they're from so i dont have a clue about their powers.. Lastly, I'm seeing the term "cross break" and idk what that is or how to use it, Do you know what that is SoBa?

Tsuna is really good, has options from fullscreen and upclose, a counter, airdash, charges stamina super fuckin quick, and has restand loops. Basically I cant think of a thing he doesnt have. Hancock is my favorite character so far, granted she has an AWFUL super (you wont hit anyone who's played the game more than once with it) but she has everything else lol. Her strings are pretty solid and you can combo for days with them, she has chun-li lightning legs, spinning bird kick, and hazanshu lol. Her hard attack is a leaping kick that turns them to stone, has mad range and you can OTG with it for a restand (anything after wont combo but they'll be standing and dont have the retarded 5 hours invincibility). She has a projectile (pistol kiss) that goes more or less fullscreen and it turns them to stone, does little damage and has mad start-up but if you're close enough you can combo off of it. You can also do it in the air. Her Slave arrow is a tracking rain of arrows that turns them to stone, you can hold it but idk if it does anything, you can combo into the pistol kiss if it connects. I like it for lockdown and helping out your bud if they're getting combo'd. She has a mello-mello move that you can hold and shoots a <3 beam but Idk what it does lol. She has a Crotch kick that breaks guard and crumples on hit, has no range tho.. Medaka was very disappointing to me, I havent messed with her that much but from the little time I had with her she was vey "meh". the only good thing about her is the Psycho Crusher (kurokami phantom), and even then it damages you as well ~__~ her field or whatever that holds the opponent in place looks useful but it doesnt do any damage and you recover around the same time as them so idk, prob cant combo off of it or anything.. Havent messed enough with the others you listed to tell you anything really, but Koro-sensei and Bobobo are super fuckin good.

Idk if they'll let u make another thread here for that but I'm definitely interested, I've been playing it for most the day today (got it this morning!) and I can tell that there's a lot of stuff in the engine but I have no clue on how to use em or what they are even lol. Plus the combo engine is really odd, I have no idea if what I'm doing actually combos or if it's techable, Idk what routes I can do/proper OTGs/if I can combo into R1+button moves or super etc etc I've been mainly sticking with Killua (why is his dodge omega ass?), Boa,Tsuna and Raoh atm, but even then there's a bunch of moves they have that I dont even know what they do.. Hisoka assist is fuckin retarded lmao. So far I'd say its one of the best assists (if not THE best). Edit: Well, I was gonna try out all the cast but the store isn't letting me buy more characters eventhough I have like 20k JP.. idk whats up :S
-
I'll be down to play once my copy gets here :> it already shipped but I'm still waiting lol. No training mode is a bummer but I wasnt expecting the game to take itself too seriously. Question to the ones that have it, how spammy is it? is there any chance to take it seriously or is it just like the Naruto Storm series where certain combinations can just derp everyone out? can you call assists mid-hitstun?

Thing is though, there's no point of the Ultra balance changes if they let edition select rock, almost every single character has a version that was superior before 2012/Ultra. They'll only pick those. And with older characters not having access to delayed wake-up it'll just be like AE2012 where the game is just vortex and unblockables everywhere, but what's worse with the overpowered older iterations of some characters making a return (vanilla Akuma/Sagat/Seth/Rufus, Super Abel/Honda/Bison, AE Yun/Yang/Fei etc) most of the cast would be more or less unviable, making the competitive scene's characters very few and many people dropping the game or having to switch to the top tiers just to have a chance to compete. I wouldn't mind either way coz with edition select I get to use a Version of Vega that actually has a chance and can put on some offense, but I definitely dont think it's a good idea.
