in previous tournaments, once 16 is reached that would be it, back-ups would be used only if players from the initial 16 sign-ups dropped however xntrikcat was really interested in running a 32-man tourney so we'll see when/if the time comes

(sorry fellas) General Information: -Please try and get on earlier so I know who is ready and so you can warm-up. -Player Limit: 8 or 16 (32?) -Singles -Double Elimination -Match Format: 2 out of 3 MATCHES (no character change between matches) -Round Format: 2 out of 3 ROUNDS Tournament Rules: -2 out of 3 round matches as stated above (the in-game setting for this is 2) -Please don't skip the intro. -NO ---> Stylish Mode //// Unlimiteds //// Character Switching -Astrals are OK -Grand Finals will be 3 out of 5 matches For those that don't understand how Grand Finals works: Grand Finals means whoever is still in the Winner's Bracket only has to win 1 SET (3 out of 5 matches). Whoever came out of Loser's into the Grand Finals has to win 2 SETS (3 out of 5 matches TWO different times). All matches are still 2 out of 3 rounds. Disconnect/Connection Problem Rules: -Disconnecting forfeits that Round, start up another match and get the rounds to go back to how they were originally and then the "Disconnector" must let the other person win whatever round was at the point when it disconnected. Ex. Player A won Round 1, Player B disconnects during Round 2. Start a new match, let Player A win Round 1 because he won it previously, and then let him win Round 2 because Player B disconnected. Match continues at 2-0. -If the person doesn't sign back on within 5 minutes they forfeit that match. If it wasn't during the Loser's Bracket then they can still continue with their Loser Bracket match if they sign back on in time. -If two players can't connect to each other, I will try to find someone to host for you, or me and Xntrikcat can host for you. -If anyone starts showing constant lag through out sufficient tournaments, depending on how many report you then you will NOT be allowed to continue participating in these tournaments regardless of your location (if you do manage to upgrade your internet, test it with me and I'll let you know on my decision) -**DO NOT COMPLAIN ABOUT LAG** - however you can report connection issues (see above) Communication: -Please NO mics (we are trying to avoid lag here) -Xntrikcat will be making a Text Chat Room for the tournament. -Please do not talk a lot on the PSN chat, and only discuss things like hosting and giving me results. -Feel free to leave the PSN chat once you and your opponent are matched up, but make sure you come back afterward. I've always liked the idea of a champions league/tournament but most players aren't that committed to these things all these people would be winning tournaments and getting points in the rankings but then they randomly just stop showing, not only that but you can't always satisfy their schedule for a big champions tournament it would have to be like Plebian's Playground which would be fine if the players and hosts are committed also DL really needs to start posting more new tech, combo videos, etc on the front page other than just tournament dates imo

from my experience 16-man double elimination tournaments lasts from 1.5-3 hours. It all depends on how smooth it goes, and trust me there is always something that goes wrong no matter what, whether it is from your own part, another player's fault or just the servers taking a dump. also give me your Skype account xntrikcat so that I can help you. now you can put this at the top of the tournament thread, and when the day of the tourney comes you can count up all the donations and use them for the prize or save them for another tournament when there aren't many donations

you can get the donate button image and attach a hyperlink with the donation address to it

well I don't know what you're going to end up doing but I know when CP comes around I'll be running netplay ranbats again (as long as the netcode is good), if you want when the time comes, we can team up and add some of the things you're brainstorming currently if you do end up doing something for Extend I'll be keeping watch for sure, I don't know about actually participating because lolextend

as an option I can see it working but not as a mandatory thing when making the tournament thread put up a donation button or something but don't make it mandatory, people will NOT care enough to pay for a netplay gamble

I remember banning the top players of the ranking once to let others catch up. Say if someone like LK were to do what mAc said then he would have lots of points and could be viable for a quick ban for certain pick up tournaments. It may sound lame but it worked for me before

I wouldn't mind starting a DL chat on Skype, but only if people actually want to do it.

Skype can run group conversations, it can be both text based or voice. idk what the limit is however but I know it's pretty big. I don't know if there is a Dustloop chat on Skype, I use the Team DAI chat on Skype to talk to some DL people if I were to choose, I would choose Skype over Vent mainly because I'm too lazy and I already have Skype lol Zeth stopped the Danisen League for Extend about around the same time I stopped the online tourneys, I don't even know if he is still interested in running anything anymore, you would have to ask him yourself.

no new ideas from me but just confirmation I guess running Skype does cause lag on people that are running below average internet. Me and the guys run Skype almost all day and we play our games normally (even GG) but I know that there is people out there that WILL have problems with lag because of Skype (or not have a computer at all). Shit I have heard people complain more about the lag when running their console's mics than they do from Skype. on the topic of money in netplay ranbats, I can definitely say that money inspires people to join. Me and Shin ran an online tourney for $100 for 1st place and $20 for 2nd and it got a whole lot of participants. I also believe someone donated $20 on a Xbox Extend ranbat and got a few people hype. If someone can put money down every tourney then I see no problem other than for the person that has to constantly pay up. I'm planning on continuing the online ranbats for CP when it comes out but since I'm poverty as hell I can't really put down any money on it. I stopped the Extend tourneys because of the small turnout (except for the $100 grand prize tourney) so I said fuck it, and besides Extend sucks
