  1. I'm really thinking too hard because I'm really sure players don't have tendencies like that are predetermined strategies, it's mostly a feel thing. But perhaps there could be things that can irritate people. I have heard of perfect pitch individuals getting annoyed when people don't resolve scales or something is a sliver out of tune (but not enough to be easily recognizable). I have ylod and an untouched BBCS case so I have too much idle time. I remember getting destroyed by Nineball Infinite in two matches. Oddly, my best round was when I started screwing up my litchi strings (in CT with my 2 month Litchi or so) and had random hitches and drops. It was odd gimmicky pressure but worked in that instance. (reminds me of Sirlin's book a lil) i guess a way off explaining could be like imagine a consistent drummer fast hitting a snare/or metronome in straight eighth notes and then another person hitting a bass every 2, 3 or 4 eighth notes. Now the person hitting the snare will have trouble guessing that subtle difference or entrances. Then you can train the snare player to hear certain pulses (3/4, 2/4, 4/4, 5/8, 6/8, 7/8 some odd 9/8 composite like 2+3+2+2) etc. I don't know how that relates to a fighting game. With Litchi, I used to experiment before a match by doing some loop and jumping with her J.C. (in CT) to show my air to air in a loop about 3 times if my opponent doesn't advance. Then i would try to use a slight augmentation or diminution rhythmic variance throughout the rest of the match.
  2. I thought of a concept to try to get the opponent off balance by basing your gameplay movement, (maybe even footsies on odd number beats, syncopation and irregular time signatures (5/8, 7/8, 11/8 etc. etc.) I can't really describe it in detail and since I'm not a top player it's relevancy is small. Something like showing your opponent some 4/4, common time repetition than adding half a beat or subtracting. I would assume most people do this type of stuff naturally and on autopilot but how many conceive of doing it. Maybe it's my keep away/poking CT litchi making me think in weird ways. Some chastise me if I'm too out of the thread's topic. (YLOD has me with too much idle thinking) A rhythmic thought or internal pulsation helps a lot on combos with delays and odd timing.
  3. Yeah I agree. Rhythm isn't a problem no matter how loud (internal pulse). Audio cues would be a problem. But the muscle memory seems to develop naturally. On second thought, I think I was referring to something completely different.
  4. I actually learned my litchi combos in CT by remembering the rhythm. Oddly, my play style is to try to disrupt mye own rhythm. Ie: 5/8 to 3/4 to 7/8 in regards to movement but very sporadically. (I'm a music comp major btw so I guess I can relate). Though I think the rhythm thing can be a great hindrance as I had to learn to disrupt it. It made me a lot easier to read.
  5. I'm still waiting to get a ps3 lol. It may be sometime late August/early September which annoys me a lil. I wanted to practice before school started but I see that won't happen.

  6. Did your CS come in yet? How do you find CS Litchi.

  7. Lol, hopefully I'll be play'in by the end of the month. But staring at the game case is reaaaaaally getting on my nerves.

  8. I'm waiting for some money for a slim.

  9. yes it is. too bad the manual is only about 5 pages. I can't even tease myself with a command list.

  10. nope. I have bbcs in my hands and still can't play yet. Sigh.

  11. Sigh, looks like I'll be maybe a month behind or whenever I get a new ps3.
  12. Honestly, I was slightly above average. I was briefly a monster horn player but evil focal dystonia developed (It's like being able to walk backwards but not forward if it's in the legs-annoying). I was hyped for BBCS too. Litchi will have to wait.

  13. I'll probably grab the $299 slim. I want the warranty more than anything lol. I'll have to go to overkill cleaning and air conditioning mode even more so now.

  14. I'm about to sell my saxophone (medically I can't play it anyway due to something called task-specific focal dystonia). It's old so we'll see. I guess I'll buy a slim. Too bad I didn't have the money weeks ago for a trade in. Oh well. You could be seeing me in a few days or in September. Giving it to sony is a ripoff (and I had a refurbished one from them anyway). Oh well, it lasted almost 2 years.

  15. I think I'm gonna buy a slim.

  16. Yeah, I'm gonna try to scramble for some cash and buy a new slim perhaps. I had a bad feeling something would go wrong before the BBCS release. I played Demon's Souls for about 10 minutes and boom, shut off-yellow light.

  17. yeah second time. But this last one worked for 1 1/2 to 2 years. I may just wait to get a slim.

  18. Nooooooooooooo. My ps3 just did YLOD. I guess I can't play until I buy a newer one.

  20. Nooooooooooooo. My ps3 just did YLOD. I guess I can't play until I buy a newer one.

  21. Nooooooooooooo. My ps3 just did YLOD. I guess I can't play until I buy a newer one.

  22. Yeah I'm still at it. Can't wait for some CS litchi. I'll probably be on later today sometimes.

  23. lol. If only I had the money. Your in town too.

  24. cool. I don't even know where it is lol.

  25. Don't make the mistake and over-think things too much. I went on a losing streak trying to drastically change my Ragna before I switched to Litchi as my main. Tweak, don't make too large adjustments. If you have too, recognize you will lose a lot in order to break that habit. Vice suggested I jump less. I couldn't change on the fly and be competitive against him in our next match. So I had to decide to charge more after baiting CH and other small modifications. Well, if you can go drastic, kudos to you.
