More training mode shenanigans: 6H (RC) j.P, 2K. This mixup could be incredibly ambiguous, as both the j.P and the 2K can potentially come out fast enough to blockstring, meaning that it's extremely fast. Of course, for 50% meter, it might not be worth it, but it's a high-low trick that's very ambiguous. It also helps that both moves have really tiny animations, making them hard to see. Combo from j.P: j.P, land, 5/2K, etc. Combo from 2K: Er, what you normally do off 2K? Execution note: You have to RC 6H as soon as it connects (This doesn't work if the 6H is meaty) and push P almost immediately for the P to connect. You can hitconfirm by holding 2 and rolling P~K extremely quickly, and the 2K will connect in time to combo (And thus be fairly difficult to poke out of) if the j.P whiffs. Note that if the j.P hits, you have to time the 2K differently because of hitstop, so to completely hitconfirm the j.P, you have to hit [2]P~K-K (Doubletap the K) and immediately go into your combo (S or 2D). This is super tough, but the bright side is, if you do it right, even if they block right, you don't lose your blockstring.

Not sure where else to put this but: 1FJ TK Kokuugeki: By inputting 632147K+->]S[, you can get kokuugeki to come out a few frames sooner than normal, as the 1fJ puts you at the minimum height. Note that because of the negative edge involved, this is a bitch to do in any useful way, but if you get it right, you'll see no dust come up from your jump, and the kokuugeki should hit as low to the ground as possible. Yeah, probably useless. But... I thought it was cool.
-
No, you're just canceling your jump startup with FD. That is, you can't jump while in blockstun, but you can FD while in jump startup, and the game resolves that as canceling your jump startup, but just putting you in the air.

Well yeah. Axl gets some nice damage if he can set it up right (More than 25% meter doesn't really help you get more damage, it just lets you combo from midscreen), but the setups for that kinda damage are the less solid combo setups. TKB in the corner or CH FB or Kokuu FRC in the corner will net you a nice 230-330 (Character matters a lot. Without guardbar, optimal combos only do 300-ish on Dizzy, Millia, that sort of people. Venom ones cap out around 278 (Kokuugeki combo, 272 for bomber) without guardbar. Keep in mind that this is ideal conditions, in the corner, starting from the top of the lifebar, etc.), but you're capping around 150-230 range from anything you're going to get a lot without guardbar (Rensen FRC, throw especially). I'm not saying damage isn't a factor, but it's not a big enough problem for Venom that it makes the matchup even. Yes, Axl does better damage than Venom in a combovid/guardbar/YOU JUST GOT YOMI'D situation. But the fact of the matter is that TKB is a risky mixup (It simply will not work in a lot of situations, and ones where it will are sketchy as fuck, since you can poke out of it in any situation where it's not a meaty) and Mad Struggle is a viable overhead that Venoms use a lot in actual matches and can genuinely make blocking ambiguous. Aside from that, Venom's undeniable ability to beat Axl out at more ranges than not, and furthermore, his ability to keep Axl locked down and guessing for long strings that build guardbar make this match very difficult. It is considered to be Axl's worst matchup, clocking in at 6-4, because of these factors. As a general rule, guilty gear isn't the kind of game where favorable matchups are just completely stacked, so obviously Axl has some tools and it's not always going to look one-sided. Having to block in certain situations doesn't automatically mean the matchup isn't in venom's favor, and it's just speaking to how well-balanced the game is that there are ways for Axl to get venom on the run. But by that logic, every matchup in the game would be even (Maybe not May-Anji), which is simply not true. The fact of the matter is that a very high-level Venom is more likely to win this match than a very high-level Axl. Venom's a harder character to learn, too. Your mileage may vary, etc.

Yeah, it's been said. Check the nor- or so-cal threads.

[CS1] Carl Clover Combos: 2]D[ is 104% multiplier
Digital Watches replied to Kyle's topic in Archive
Huh? 2D bounces them higher the higher in the air it hits them, that's the only thing... So you have to hit them relatively high to do 2D loops, because it gives Ada time to recover. -

So, I've been experimenting around for awhile and. The way I always see people end 2D loops with Allegretto + 8D, they cancel the j2C late and do it out of the bounce. But you can also super jump and do it with Allecan timing, and in general it doesn't all hit but it comes out faster, so you can do it after more reps. (Stark posting from Watches' account while I'm at his apartment) -
Eh, I don't think kissing counts as risqué, so you're fine on that end. Our main concern is anything that could be construed as CP, since that'd cause, well, legal trouble and the like. Since some countries have restrictions on drawn stuff as well, the general consensus is we'd rather not take the risk. Besides, who wants to see that pedo shit? Plus I guess porn in general could be considered offensive by some people, etc. etc.

Yeah, probably filesize limit would be upped if we were implementing this, so you could probably flood everyone's bandwidth with more flashing anime lesbians if you wanted.
-
Well, we can't really make it bigger horizontally without being dumb. Dunno if you were around for the AVPOCALYPSE when like, SJ and Hellmonkey and whoever else I'm forgetting from SoCal had GIANT SCREEN-EATING AVS, but generally the 160-wide limit is a good way to keep it in check.

1. ¬(has_people_skills) here defined as any behavior that makes ZONG_one antagonistic. 2. Therefore, ZONG_one being antagonistic to x implies x does not have people skills. 3. ZONG_one is being antagonistic towards (Mac, DW), therefore, (Mac, DW) don't have people skills. QED Sounds good to me. So basically you're mad because he was a little vulgar in describing his distaste for fanboys on this site, and saying that enabling large avatars through some kind of premium system would lead to the site becoming cluttered with flashy and unnecessary avatars. I actually happen to disagree that this would be such a huge problem, and am all for premium accounts. Your idiotic flamewar-style comments like "OMG WHAT IS HE YOUR BOYFRIEND!?!" wouldn't even bother me that much if it wasn't exactly what you're accusing Mac of. So in short, yeah, you're a hypocrite. Grow up or go home. EDIT - Setting aside the fact that rectangles can be squares, and that it is in fact a necessary (But not sufficient) condition for being a square to be a rectangle (Implying to me that you've probably heard that analogy used before but kind of missed the point), I'm again struck by this seeming unwillingness to see logical equivalence beyond verbatim phrasing. I was saying that you use your opinions as though they were facts, or at least conventions (As in accepted by everyone else present), when constructing your logic, which is evident by the way that you're arguing, not that you said somewhere that "My opinions are facts!" or whatever.
-
I'm sorry, I neglected to use your phrasing verbatim. Guess that means my point is invalid. So you're saying that although you're not actually offended, he's somehow committed some kind of foul here? I'm saying that since there's no universal quantifiable etiquette that everyone agrees on at play here, the only way you could really be calling him out on being a dick is if your sensibilities have been offended in some way, and so I'm calling bullshit on you not being offended, or on Mac needing to work on his "people skills." Is it really that tough to understand what I'm saying? Well obviously not, which is why I see no problem with how Mac has been going about this. As you'll note, this has been my position from the get-go. Wow, that's not antagonistic or ad-hominem at all. There you go with your "It's not the same set of words verbatim, so it's completely different" logic. If it's somehow still unclear to you, my point was that it's absurd to say that you think Mac has committed some foul in terms of "arguing on a forum" etiquette (What I would operationally define as "People skills" in this situation) but claim to not yourself be offended, since there isn't a codified etiquette for that sort of thing, so it's obviously a question of your personal opinion in this case. You're trying to pass off your opinion as a fact and then divorce yourself from that opinion, and I'm calling your bluff on it. In that case, I'd say you're doing a lot worse at it than he was. Again with your opinion-facts. In the immortal words of the smaller Bruce Lee that lives in Bruce Lee's mouth, "NO YOU!" (EDIT: I know the picture for that meme isn't actually Bruce Lee, but I imagine it that way because of the rule of cool) @Cakewasbanned: TAKE THAT! I tend to dislike it when people are belligerent and fail at logic at the same time.
-
Lawl, so you're not taking things personally, but you take personal offense to being pidgeonholed? You claim that you don't mind dissenting opinions, and that you're not taking offense, but that he needs to work on his personal skills? There seems a contradiction.

Ever check out Slayerland?

But it does seem to work from a FC situation...

I dunno, he seems pretty on topic. He's definitely talking about the subject at hand, even though he's the dissenting opinion. If you're objecting to the language or belligerence, well uh... It's the internet. Duh.

So... in general, mods watch the forums for spambot threads, but obviously our only tool is, well, noticing threads it's happening in. If you see a spam post, this thread is as good a place as any to POST A LINK TO IT. That way, a mod (such as myself or Spirit Drank or whatever) can investigate/go kill it. -
Haha, basically.

Aye. I'd rather have a slightly more robust top-tier than a true trash-tier. Frankly, you can do well with JO-BR-IN in this game, whereas slash Robot was a lost cause. And anyone who's played a good Ky in Slash knows it was almost as broke and three times as stupid as anything in the top tier of the game now (If you think forward EXE is annoying, try lv. 5 stunedge.)

So wait. It's a keyboard-stick, right? Those buttons on the left side are... up-down-left-right-start-select?

Digital Watches replied to TaoFTW's topic in Archive
Yeah, the FPS figures are completely untrue. I've definitely experienced lag difficulties in things running even two frames slower, and had no trouble on an arcade cab. There's occasional slowdown because the hardware sometimes has trouble with lots of stuff on the screen, but the game in general runs at the same speed as the console. -
It's in the blanket "System data" stuff.

Hey Koogy. I haven't used paypal in a long time and apparently it's using an old mailing address (I've since changed it, but the order has already gone through). Is there any way you could change the address you send the shirt to?
