  1. Actually, it's been here the whole time. Just only staff can see it.
  2. Hi, welcome to DL. Out of curiosity, how old are you? I don't believe we have any age restrictions here, I'm just curious. Thanks, -Watches.

  3. Yeah, and they almost exclusively focused on learning the other ones after they were good. Meanwhile, there are a zillion scrubs who try to play like 5 different characters and never get good at any of them, despite playing a lot.
  4. ...As long as you don't want to get good.
  5. Safe air normals are safe.
  6. Well, it's okay with you doing input-slight delay-button, which means you can do things like additional directions before inputs (Such as Jump installing or running with a charge move).
  7. Naw, cuz the opponent gets the throwbreak animation still, complete with invuln. Throwbreak Rashousen is where it's at. Additional nitpicky note: You can do it with specials that don't have an H input, you just hit H at the same time (Assuming they don't have another special with the same command and H that takes priority) In fact, GG's input buffer being the way it is, you can even do it with moves that don't end in 6 or 4. Just do command-->(6/4)+Button
  8. Just because it's a joke doesn't mean I won't do it.

  9. Er, my point of course being OF COURSE no one gets thrown on purpose. Frank's just saying that the "Buff my character so I can be a scrub and still win" idea is dumb.
  10. Frank, you don't actually expect people in these threads to understand how game balance works, do you?
  11. The real question is: Why are people posting in it?

  12. If little eddie gets hit, or you use up too many moves/too much time and the meter runs out on its own, it has to refill from scratch. If you unsummon little eddie manually (236+Button when you have eddie out) or big eddie gets hit/blocks something, little eddie goes away, but the meter is full and he can be re-summoned at any time. I think having the unsummon replenish the bar is a good thing. I think eddie getting hit refilling the bar is stupid.
  13. I think if you're going to fix eddie through "him getting hit" properties, the most egregious thing right now is the fact that big eddie getting hit replenishes the eddie meter instantly, allowing him to re-summon.
  14. Lawl. So ABA should just be top tier then?
  15. Lawl. I can see the headlines now: "Japanese Fighting Game perfects machine-learning behavior. High-level AI learns from mistakes, adapts to opponent's strategies, passes Turing Test in Japanese Arcade against top Tougeki Champions." It's in your head, dude.
  16. Yo smoosh. Think we're playing a different game over here or something? Don't get on dat American exceptionalism bandwagon, son.
  17. Lawl. He lost to MARN'S Jam, no less. Hell, he'd have been able to beat that practicing v. MY fuckin' jam.
  18. Want me to make it your sig? Oh, and all this talk is hella dumb. Tiers just mean "the character is better, sort of, by some arbitrary assessment made by folks who know what they're talking about." Like I said, it's not like we're using actual statistics or anything.
  19. I'm not saying it's necessarily practical to come up with useful data. I am saying you can't draw meaningful conclusions without it.
  20. Right, that's a good approach. We don't have real data, so let's make some up.
  21. Well right. So I'm just saying we have literally no real data, therefore no meaningful conclusions about balance can really be made.
  22. Lawl. I've said it before and I'll say it again: Tier lists are worthless without matchup charts. Especially since there's no real statistical rhyme and reason to how tier lists are made. To me, it seems to follow that point totals derived from matchups could be put on a bell curve, and then standard deviations make the tiers (As in C tier is the mean, and a full standard deviation up or down constitutes a new tier) but that's not how it's done, so meh. Drawing conclusions from a list of that sort is, as it stands, intellectual masturbation.
  23. Yo. Happy birthday! Also long time no see.

  24. What I want to see is the matchup chart that led to this. I'm guessing MI being high is just a matter of having less bad matchups, rather than dominating many per se (Like how Eddie is, but less so). I'd also bet the delta between tiers is rather small.
