EVO 2010 Caesar's Palace, July 9-11th VEGAS BABY!
Digital Watches replied to 10stars's topic in Archive
The lady doth protest too much, methinks! -
Sorry uh... Have you played a good chipp?
-
Axl: Since it's pot, you could always do a rensen loop.
-
1. Don't you live in Kentucky? 2. I'd say don't take secondaries too seriously until you've gotten good at your first character.
-
You sound like a guy who knows how to have a good time. A few friends of mine are throwing a moving party in a big van. It's gonna be fuckin' sweet! There'll be girls there and everything! They'll be around to pick you up sometime soon. My friends will probably be in suits, but don't worry too much about the dress code.

University of Washington Vetcoast SF4 and BB:CT 1/10/10 tourney
Digital Watches replied to Scooter's topic in Archive
Heh. I'll go if there'll be gear. Casual or not. I'll also probably enter MB if I go. -
Well yeah, of course mixing it up makes it harder (Although I'd contend if you get good enough at it, it could just become another guessing game, but I guess this is theoretical, since no one's actually that good at it and may never be), but there are plenty of eddies who just learned to do it one way and muscle-memory it. A really good eddie can make it nearly impossible to block anyway, but as a matter of whether it's possible to learn the timing to block high one frame and low the next, it definitely is.
-
Ha, definitely. Moreso than most of his moves. Although fun fact: An FRC'd rensen is +33 on block./
-
Lulz, that's not true. If you get some matchup experience you can learn to do it semi-consistently. There was a point where I could block wing+Puddle a good 50-60% of the time. The other ones were considerably lower and I probably would have a lower rate now, since it's been forever since I've played v. Eddie, but that's not my point. My point is it's not THAT hard.
-
What he said also applies to Raeisageki in a lot of situations. Oh yeah, that and bomber's like, +7 on block (From low, but still), so Axl can actually link a 5K off of it as a blockstring (Even 2K will technically work, but it's a 1F link, so it's more likely to be a false gap type thing)
-
This word does not mean what you think it means. To OP: Single-player is probably more fleshed out than some other fighters, but it is a fighting game after all. It's really more fun with other people, no contest.
-
Honnou speaks the truth! I wanna make some notes though. Indeed. I actually recommend not using that move much at all in this match unless you're sure you'll punish something. On reaction, Axl can 6H, 3P, or 2H you of it, and those first two make you hurt HARD on CH. Technically Axl only needs 25% now, since they made the followup a FB
-
Scientifically speaking, it depends on how hot they are. I see what you did there.
-
I think problem 1.0 is trying to get people into the game. Frankly, I've never seen one person get competitive at any game ever because someone convinced them to play it. If your sister's going to get into the game, she'll probably come to you, and if you want people to play against who will take it even semi-seriously, you should probably seek out people who already play. I assume you already know this, but I hear the Kentucky scene ain't bad.

Sorry, what? Whether I agree or not with whatever point you're trying to make aside, that sentence is damn near semantically incomprehensible. -
Nerfs or Buffs each character should recieve, GGAC Edition
Digital Watches replied to shinquickman's topic in Archive
HA. Try 100. Axl can already crank Guardbar for mad damage on characters he gets to rush down. With rensen for extra crank, I'd pretty much say the current iteration of Axl would be just under Slayer/Eddie tier. -
Play SF2 BASICS.

[Multi Char CM] GGBR Vol.1 - The Midnight Carnival

I like it. Where do Brazil players play? -
Well, since then, my computer has fully died, and been revived, which means I now don't have the software for my capture card. It doesn't help that these last two terms of school have been rather stupidly busy.
-
It's too bad, because that's easily THE COOLEST thing you can do with that super.
-
WIN. Highlights: Anti-Pot combo showing off most of the 18-hit 6K2S loop, Shiranami v. Ky FB, and more stuff I'd have to rewatch to remember.
-
Pro tier! This shit is awesome. I'd comment in this thread just to bump it. The v. OS super one was cool too, but disappointing, because you didn't do one with THE FREEZE.

General Gameplay Questions Thread - POST YOUR GAMEPLAY QUESTIONS HERE
Digital Watches replied to Kairi's topic in Archive
Uh, wait. You're talking GGAC? Because the thing the guy who answered you said is completely untrue in GGAC. Millia's combos, while not requiring FRCs per se, are also absurdly character-specific, and keeping up the fast pace that competitive millia needs requires a good degree of technical ability. Testament was hard in previous versions, but EXE FRC isn't that terrible, and TKing a quarter circle is hardly a tough thing to do in combos. On a purely technical level, Millia is much harder than Testament in AC. -
I don't think so, but you can definitely get a better version on May anyway. The May Version I do is also the optimal combo for a lot of other characters: TKB->c.S-j.D-Bomber, j.H-j.D-Bomber, j.D-Bomber, run 2S-j.D-Bomber. And in response to your other question: Most of the optimal loops (As far as I've come up with) involve at least one j.D-Bomber rep, although this is sometimes impossible (JO, Robo-ky, etc.) or kills the combo.
-
There's no comprehensive list, but I've written them out as I worked on the ones from TKB in this thread, and also made a video of what I currently knew to be the best (I think one or two have since been revised). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HjHfqlM7XdA From throw, I don't even bother going for big damage anymore unless it'll kill 'em. The 50% prorate makes me want to do just enough to get them nervous and trick them into a reset for a lot more. However, rather than memorize specifics, there are some general rules you can follow: 1. A pretty safe bet for a good rep is a simple j.D, Bomber. 2. The least damaging (but most reliable!) rep is 2S, j.D, Bomber. 3. In the vast majority of the combos I recommend from TKB, the first rep is c.S, j.D, Bomber. 4. TKB in the middle of a loop is seldom optimal, except against Ky, Eddie, Venom, and Millia (There are 4 others where there's a TKB in the max damage ver. off TKB, but it's not a safe assumption to make as a general rule). And memorize these: Jam: TKB, c.S, j.D, Bomber, j.D, Bomber, TKB, run, 2S, j.K, Bomber, rensen-2 ABA: TKB, j.D Bomber x 4 (Actually, in most situations, you can just loop this on her a few times and call it good), rensen-2. (Dizzy is similar, but actually easier to combo, but harder to KD) Bridget: TKB, c.S, j.D, Bomber, (sj.H, j.D, Bomber)x2, Rensen-2.
