Why settle for 2 when you can have 1 AND 2 (A la 63214S FRC)
-
Well, 2K/3P meaty would be safe to try to beat something, but trying to 6H that even perfect meaty all you can really do is block if slayer goes crosswise or pilebunker.
-
It'd be easier to just swap the restrictor plate on the Sanwa. They make circular ones, or at least octagonal. Anyway, if they're anything like the LS-32, you can get a ghetto circle gate just by completely removing the restrictor plate, which on the JLF is that round clear plastic part on the bottom.

Not uh... ... Pot I think?

2H, man, 2H. 2H is good against a forward dash, backward dash, dandy, BBU, and I think Mappa. Just watch out for Slayer 2H, 6K, or BDC airdash. Overall, going for pullback meaty is probably one of the more effective things you can Oki slayer with, especially if he has under 50% meter and can't wing-super you out of it.

Update: The Slayer/Zappa/Pot variant works on Axl too. 276 damage. Jam is now the only one the previous combo is optimal on. Venom is Ky/Eddie variant.
-
Continuing list: The May variant works on Anji and Faust. It also works on Slayer, but the timing is extremely tight and it only does 1 extra damage over the listed variant. Also, I can get the Dizzy variant to knock down now. With the exception of Dizzy, the May variant is the most damaging I can find so far on characters it works on. Eddie is Ky variant. EDIT: Pot is in the same club as slayer. May Variant for added difficulty and one extra damage. Otherwise do Zappa variant.

That's pretty laughable. Slayer's AA isn't terrible, but it's certainly not that great either.
-
Why, yes. Yes it is.

Nah. 9191 and 7373 are theoretically faster, since with a 360, you're only hitting 1 direction at a time. -

If I recall correctly, dizzy = stagger in terms of things that'll get out of it. -
Well, I'm not going to say "don't bother with EX," but you're never going to convince enough of the GG community as a whole to go off the arcades standard, and so there's probably never going to be a competitive scene for EX characters. If you're fine with that and still want to mess around with them, go ahead.
-
Er. Just to clarify, you're exactly right, no one really knows how balanced or not EXs are, but whether they're well-balanced is irrelevant to why no one plays them.
-
Myself included.

What's obvious?

Heh. Yeah, rewatching it, I definitely agree. I wonder how much of it was the heat, as after about 8 PM, when it was dark and Canada showed up, I started doing better. Wish I had gotten recorded then. Heh.

Yeah, people started yelling at me for that, something about "disrespectful" or whatever, but it was completely on accident. Well, there's that, the sweep that got killed by the super (Standalone sweep = bad) and the horrible, horrible burst game, including bad bursts of my own and trying to bait bursts by dropping combos (or when he didn't even HAVE burst.) I'm sure there's more that can be pointed out, I think my performance was rather sub-par overall. What I WAS doing well that day was 1FJing out of things.

Oh, and might as well post these: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yVmqqJmaUv4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tI1fdWCg-UE Grand finals of Pacific NW Majors. Digital Watches (AX) v. Wuku (TE) I wasn't executing particularly well that day, so in order to do well, I kind of cut out the fancy stuff and went back to a basic punishment-centered game. Hopefully it's not TOO bad, despite the terrible terrible bursting.

Yeah, I've seen some match vids where a Japanese Axl just gave up on doing that version and just going for rensen v. Millia. But it seems like that's kind of a long vid to illustrate such a simple concept.
-
Man, don't lie: I-No isn't anyone's nightmare.

Well, more than that is just that once it's an Oki situation, Dizzy locks Axl down arguably better than any other character. Fishing for a knockdown can win you the whole round very easily, because Axl just has to block and wait for an opening, which, given fish and Dizzy's grab range and all that, can be extremely hard to find before getting hit and knocked down again. Nah, it's just that the very end of the chain isn't vulnerable. Also notable is the fact that the second (pullback) hit of the chain will reach about a character width further than the first hit, which means that sniping the fish from the max range of the first hit is especially viable. Also, trying to nab the chain with an ice spike is a really horrible idea in general, as the likelihood of it working is slim to nil, considering the relative speeds and hitboxes of the moves, and you'll probably just get smacked with a rensen when you miss (unless you FRC the ice spike, and then you're out 25% meter.) What you should really use the spike for is when Axl is standing on top of where it will hit and trying to throw stuff out.

1. Get a knockdown 2. Apply oki ad nauseum. 3. ??? 4. Profit!

Aha, watch in amazement as I decipher your location from that one clue. You live... On earth?
