I tend to also refer to moves as "hitting meaty" when they hit at later active frames for any other reason such as spacing or invulnerability, which is kind of the same concept, but strictly speaking, it's oki-only.

Hm... okay. Good enough for me. Blade, since this project is clearly serious business, I vote you devote all your time and energy to it until it gets sorted out. As such, the next time you post, it should be with a definitive EX tier list. I'm aware that this will probably take a long time, so out of the kindness of my heart, you are allowed, during this time, to eat, sleep, and use the restroom. I would say conjugal visits are allowed as well, but I'm not sure such a provision is necessary.

I dunno, I think there are a lot of things to "do" until the next game comes out that are a lot more interesting. And pancho, I still disagree, because a long game has the same benefit for both players (or can, depending on how good the player is at that sort of thing). You say the ABA player needs time to adapt to the opponent's strategies, but you make it out to seem like a totally reactive game on the part of the ABA player. This would make a lot more sense if the other person were a CPU, but they have the opportunity to learn and adapt as well. I just don't think the argument holds water.

Er. First off, you make it sound as though it's random whether her lifebar gets eaten, which it definitely isn't. Secondly, why would losing one match be any different than losing two matches in terms of the character? Is there some effect independent matches have on each other that I wasn't previously aware of? I sort of get what you're trying to say, but I don't think it's really the case.

1. This can be as much a site for new players as experienced ones as long as you're not asking questions in the wrong place. Feel free to ask whatever you need in the gameplay questions thread, and even though it's discouraged, mods are usually fairly understanding if you think your question warrants a new thread when it doesn't. 2. AC+ has more bugs than the US console release, so it likely will not replace it as the standard. 3. The frame data link has been added recently, courtesy of Gwyrgyn Blood.

Either way, it is kind of the next "level" down from IBing in terms of window and blockstun, so it makes sense that it'd have similar properties.
-
Yeah, so does IBing in the air, actually.

Well, for one thing, though Jam being so well represented I could see being a factor, I think that to say he has a bad matchup with Slayer is kind of making mountains out of molehills. Still, the issues you list are good points. I just don't agree that they are enough alone to really make the general statement that "Axl is not a strong tournament character" hold water, and I'm more inclined to believe that underrepresentation is the problem.
-
I dunno, man. The fact that this has remained consistent since XX really does make it seem like the problem is underrepresentation, not anything inherent. Maybe if you were to elaborate as to why it could be something else.
-
I don't really see how. Frankly, I think Axl has a lot of potential, (my opinion might be slightly biased. Just slightly. ) and there aren't really any heavy execution barriers stopping people from getting their shit together with him. I think the only reason Axl doesn't place in tournaments is that he's severely underrepresented. Liek OMG, good players win, there are mindgames, and measurements of game balance assume similar skill levels? NO WAI! I'm pretty much tired of this argument coming up in tier discussions. It's not wrong, it's just that anyone with their head on straight already knows that shit. 'Slike going into an economics discussion with "Hey guys, check it out! Apparently, people will PAY for goods and services. WITH CURRENCY! CRAZY!" Of course an experienced player is going to beat a weak one most of the time regardless of the matchup. It doesn't really invalidate matchup analysis or even contribute anything to the discussion.

Go Namco. Lighter and allegedly easier to mod.
-
Er... Why would that scrunch the buttons together?
-
Well, first off, that would involve actually physically modifying the case. I'd think it'd be easier to just get a custom.
-
Well, yeah, technically, but it probably isn't that important in most cases.
-
Your mom. (I know this hot girl, and she's real smart, too. Knows how to give you what you want, if you know what I mean. And her name is Wikipedia.)
-
I'd say 3P is a more universally safe way to start. Also, f.S is special-cancellable too, so you could buffer the counter onto that if you wanted.
-
These two would make Axl S tier without breaking the game, IMO.
-
Eh, it's character-dependent, since get-up time varies, but not THAT hard, really.
-
JUDO MASTUH AXL!
-
No, you can meaty the move so that the whiff and hit FRC time the same. Eh, if you can jump out quick enough afterwards. Fancy oki is always risky. Er... yeah. I thought that was common knowledge...
-
Inputting both will never work. The game won't allow you to attempt an FRC more than once per move, meaning if you input 3 buttons at two separate times, the first one will count, the second won't do anything.
-
Nah, 'cause you can go for the crossup, a throw, a double jump, or a backdash for a re-crossup. That, and the 2P could also lead into rensen or rashou.
-
FRC and buffer an FB for the throw invincibility... Or, yeah, don't do it. With JI stuff, however, it may be worth trying c.S (JI) 2P, Raei in the corner, since people don't tend to think about the fact that the pullback takes them out of the corner.
