  1. No reason not to block high against 6C in that case. 6C is a bad pressure tool anyways. Yes. 5A is now 5 frames (was 7 in CT), and 2A is now 7 frames (was 9 in CT).
  2. To be fair, Nu, Arakune, and Rachel wouldn't have been as hard to deal with if CT's defensive mechanics (guard bar and burst) didn't suck so much ass. But yes, Rachel needed nerfs, although she got overnerfed by a long shot. In CT, Rachel was, in theory, the most broken character, but probably the least annoying to deal with out of the three. Against Arakune and Nu, it was pretty much you got hit once or cursed you just lost the round. However, that's neither here nor there now. Not sure if this is sarcasm or not.
  3. This is theory fighting and hilarity at its finest.
  4. awful grand finals I like how I said "If DW watches wins this tournament I'm never playing GG in NorCal ever again." Thanks to AJ, that dream is now a reality!
  5. i love watching america play
  6. Looks great.
  7. It's fine. Just in the future I think it's better to not crop it. The flashing cab text is negligible, and cropping the video so that stuff is not visible just makes it look unnatural.
  8. Nice video, but why did you crop it in such a funny way? Seems strange and unneeded if you ask me.
  9. Not true. There are a lot of 6-4/4-6 match ups in CS. While it may be considered a good/bad match up, the better player will generally come out on top if the level of play is high enough. A good example of this would be JP GGAC, where the level of play is so high that a 6-4/4-6 match up is generally negligible. There is only one match up in that game where the difference in the match up is very noticable (Eddie vs Pot, which is 6.5-3.6 or 7-3). In CS, there's only a few match ups like that.
  10. Yeah, 10-0 means it's pretty much impossible to lose. An example (although exaggerated) would be Juda vs Jagi... which everyone jokes as being a 9.9-0.1 match up. Poor Jagi.
  11. I had to point that out anyways. :P
  12. Maybe if the Tager is bad. :|
  13. Cool stuff. I am now interested in this... but can WCW redeem itself?!
  14. Saying that once Ragna gets in on Carl means Carl is dead is a bit silly. I think you're thinking way too hard about this. Lambda has very poor defensive options as well (6A is bad, backdash gets caught be 5B or 5C, DP has a long cooldown), but the Japanese listed that match up as even too; their players know far more about match nuances than we do. Most Americans have really poor defense when it comes to blocking, being patient, and knowing when to block vs attack (it's always been like this). A little bit of good defense can go a long way, and with the guard bar completely changing in CS, you can afford to be a lot more patient when it comes to blocking block strings against a lot of rushdown characters, especially Ragna. Just because Ragna gets in on Lambda and Carl doesn't mean they are going to lose for free.
  15. He is better than CT Tager, but tier lists are always relative. CS Tager is solid right now, but lacks tools to get in. Like most grapplers, Tager has a hard time with characters that have strong pokes and a strong zoning game.
  16. I don't see Carl vs Ragna being anything worse than 4.5 for Carl at all. Even on the JBBS chart, the Carl players put the match at even, while the Ragna players put it at 4.5 for Ragna. My logic says that it's probably even or very close to being an even match up. From what I've seen in JP Carl vs Ragna videos, it's very effective for Carl to just sit behind Nirvana, forcing Ragna to take risks if he wants to get in (similar to how the Lambda vs Ragna match up works). I'm guessing US Carls don't know the nuances of zoning with Nirvana just yet.
  17. Carl vs Ragna is far from a bad match up for Carl. It would make sense why the Japanese put that match up close to even because if the Carl is good with controlling Nirvana, it can make approaching him difficult for Ragna. It's the same idea why Ragna vs Lambda is even.
  18. What do I look like, Beatlejuice?

  19. Oh, forgot to mention that entry fee would probably be reduced to $3 on all formats.
  20. Results are up! MBAA singles: 9th - Doren MBAA teams: 9th - Team Doren (Doren carried to 9th) GGAC singles: 9th - Doren GGAC teams: 9th - Team Doren (Doren carried to 9th) Rock Paper Scissors: 9th - Doren Checkers: 9th - Doren Tic Tac Toe: 9th - Doren Breathing: 9th - Doren
  21. You're certainly not Jesus. Get it? Dohohoho~ It was kind of cool though. I technically made money off of the tournament because the manager gave me (and the top 3 players) $7.50 in credits for running such a long, tiring tournament. I'm still pretty tired from yesterday. Again I apologize for the sudden "best of 1" scenario, but there really wasn't anything I could do for the tournament in order to make it finish at a reasonable time. Here's the ideas presented so far: Format 1: Double ElimBest of 1 gameLoser's Finals, Winner's Finals, Grand Finals best of 3 games Format 2: Single ElimBest of 3 gamesGrand Finals are normal, 3rd place match fight Format 3: Double ElimWinner's Bracket best of 3 games, Loser's bracket best of 1 gameLoser's Finals, Winner's Finals, Grand Finals best of 3 games Feedback? Also open to suggestions. On another note, most improved player award from me goes to Kelvin.
  22. At least you weren't running it. :| I was mad stressing about finishing on time.
  23. yeah it was fun! you've improved a lot! ggs!

  24. Thanks to everyone that came out! I was impressed and surprised we had 29 people... whoa! :looney: We' usually struggle to get 16 and we suddenly almost had double! Glad everyone came out. I'm sorry we had to resort to making games best of one, but it was unavoidable due to time. There was literally no way we were going to finish by 12 using best of 3 games. In fact, I would've been surprised if we finished by 1 AM if we kept it to 2/3. Anyways, GGs to all that showed up. If we get that many people next time, we'll have to make the tournament single elimination, best of 3 games.
