well, i say sundays during the daytime...when everyone of us is free to show up is the best day. and since its day and not night, everyone can stay without having to leave early...that will only disrupt a tourny ranking...like the way mahouko and nova always have to leave early cuz their young bucks...and tian too...thats my point.... on a workday, or any day, people either have to leave early, or show up late, people miss each other for one reason or another. sundays during the day...people don't have any reason not to be there from beginning to end of sessions/tourney. thats my opinion. or my point. just sayin' and no one else will be there since most people go at night. sundays, early in the day.....like around 1pm, 2pm, 3pm something like that....for the AH3,GuiltyGear, BlazBlue and MeltyBlood crowd. its not like nxt lvl isn't open on sundays, it will be...11am-12am. @Hard_Bread...i need to get more games in with you. you beast me in everything. even SF3 lol. i've taken what you taught me in melty and applied it to my playing. thx. but i want to play you more, so i can level up more. you are my sensei, teach me the ways of your Shaolin Kung Fu, master duke. teach me your ninja way. -signed, your disciple Axl

why not sundays like around 2pm? i mean, its sunday...everyone is off from work...and because its earlier in the day, people from jersey can actually show up more often...its not like sundays are a bad day for anyone. i'm assuming. what time arte people going today for guilty? 6? 7pm?

nxt lvl is open wedneday for guard crush,...its not open for tommorrow. nxt lvl facebook page states its closed till wednesday...guessing that grand opening may be next week. fingers crossed

if you are referring to cabinets, the last time i was there he just 3 different types. one dance machine. 6 or 8 ssf4 cabs united. 1 kof 13...that almost never gets played:P i'm gonna put 5 bucks into it though if i can find someone there willing to play me. he said he was gonna get more cabs as the months progress. so he said. as for console games, he said he has anything and everything. even arcana heart 3 for the 360. go figure. just ask for a console game and he'll set it up for you. if he has it. don't ask for obscure games though, like slap happy rhythm busters or some shit like that. be reasonable.

so,.... i got 2 sticks recently, both are dual-modded hori sticks with new sanwa buttons and what not...but i got one with a sanwa jlf joystick with a square gate, and the other is a seimitsu ls-56-01 with a round gate... and here's my outlook on experiencing/using both joysticks on different fighters: i gotta say that for Guilty Gear... the seimitsu feels so much more Geared towards Guilty than the sanwa jlf. no pun intended. imo, i think is for a number of these reasons. -its much easier to do all of the half circle, quarter circle+half circle motions with its round gate. -the stiffness of the seimitsu is just whats needed for me to do Dragon Punch motions easily, especially DPs in air combos....which the sanwa's JLF looseness was causing me more trouble to pull off consistently..the aerial DPs i mean. -alot easier to jump cancel and dash-whether in air or on the ground..thx again to its stiffness. -i'm no expert or even savy when it comes to sticks...but i've read somewhere that seimitsus have smaller/shorter throw...which is definitely noticeable between the sanwa and the seimitsu...AND which helps in Guilty i think., cuz i don't really have to ride the gate as much to achieve an overdrive...or a dash, or a jump cancel, or any command list move for that matter.with the sanwa, i felt myself having to ride the gate more just because the sanwa demanded more full scale motion execution than the seimitsu due to its longer throw. its hard to put 'muscle memory' differences into words, but that's is the best i can do to try to explain *my* muscle memory sensations into words. now the sanwa jlf with its square gate feels much better suited for the old school games like street fighter and KoF...feels more natural for the older Capcom/SNK fighters. i think that fighting games and the arcade sticks designed for playing them is sorta like golf. like golf in that you need to have a stick thats works best for that particular game, but it may not be the best choice of stick for a different fighter that makes different motion demands for your hand. yunno like there's a club for putting, another for grass strokes, another for getting out of sand traps, for starting a hole off...etc... "sorry i don't really watch golf to be well versed in golf terminology, lol." to summarize my post: Seimitsu LS-56-01 w octogonal or a round gate---works really well for new school fighters like guilty gear, arcana heart, melty blood, fate/uc Sanwa JLF w square gate----works best for old school fighters like street fighter, king of fighters, fatal fury, etc... *this is just MY personal opinion/feelings on the matter of the differenceS between sanwa and seimitsu joysticks from my muscle memory trials/tests* edit: oh yeah, console controllers sux. i can do things in guilty on the stick now, that i could never even dream of doing when i was using D-pad console controller. arcade sticks>console controller x1000!

i really wanted to go today, but like i said before... now that i picked up my hydrocortizone at the post office today(finally came) i feel better now. i was cutting my HC meds backs this week cuz i only had a few tabs left...thats why i was feeling really weird metabolism-wise. if it wasn't for that i would have definitely gone today. i've yet to play against the rest of the group, which i'm dying to do so.... i've only played SIne,Dai,Mahou,Nova and Biscuits. hope to get 2 play against the rest of ya very soon, and to continue learning GG by the entire group of great playerz overall. @SIne are you saying you can make it this monday? if nxt lvl is open i mean.

Henry updated his next level thread and next level is gonna be open on sundays...every day actually....but more importantly, sundays...where we can all meet up without worry 11am open on sundays 12pm every other day. fuck yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but ya gotta pay to play when it opens. i have no idea how thats gonna work....like i'm guessing we'll have to pay a flat rate fee...since we know we will be playing for at least 4 hours and what not,...but i don't know how they'll collect from each person...i'm guessing by membership card??? I DO NOT THINK ITS OPEN YET THOUGH. novareaper mains her. me i just haven't decided who to main. i think one of either dizzy, ky, or baiken-for now. i'll screw around with axl, millia and zappa in casuals. i may just end up maining zappa after the long while it'll take me 2 figure out his gameplay nuances. i sorta like dizzy and zappa since they are the most interesting characters. imo. can't do axl bomber loop yet. can't finish ky aerial combos with dragon punch yet. my biggest problems with stick right now is aerial dragon punch motions and dashing in general, regardless if its in air or on the ground. need to spend more time in training mode and practice 623s in the air. 66s+44s too. i'm almost ready to play peeps again, but only with ky n baiken.

keep us updated if there are any changes in the gameplay once PB drops next month....and update that move/command explanation you have up on the phantom thread over at SRK. me i'll main the chick with the twin daggers/short swords.... she just looks so damn cool! looks ninja-esque.

@Dai....thx 4 d 411, the list is shocking. i can't believe there are that many i-no players O_o i can't believe anyone mained robo-ky....and of all people hardbread for god's sake!!!! i can't compete wif that guy at anything O_o' too beastly at everything. i'm assuming you are joking when you say "who mains her?" in reference to jam and millia. i can't really say i main ky....mahouko bodies me all over the place when we mirror match ky together. but he bodies me with dat character named-RANDOM SELECT regardless....i don't really know if i can surpass his ky...ever. i've improved my ky,...but just slightly. i can learn baiken, chipp, and lol....and zappa. that'll be interesting, me trying to figure out zappa. i got late to the party.... so someone explain 2 me if DaiAndOh is being serious or just pulling my leg when he mentions someone named Krochos.... huh?

so i'm just gonna throw this out there..... i've been getting this idea stuck in my head about me maining a GG character that no one uses in our group of players. i know that in our next level GG sessions group that peeps play as: eddie bridget faust testament millia venom axl johnny may i-no slayer jam anji so, i use ky usually....but i was thinking about picking up one of these characters: chipp/baiken/dizzy/robo-ky/potemkin/a.b.a....or some other character no one ever uses. everyone, give me a heads up if any of ya use these characters. so that i don't spend my time learning them. explanation: i just don't wanna see the same characters used in sessions. for example:there are too many jam players already in our group. i don't wanna be the 3rd/4th jam user...etc. i'll whip out a dizzy just to add some "spice" to our sessions. yunno, somethin' different just to keep it interesting. edit: Daigo callin' u.s. playerz out in marvel???..."oh no he idn't!" lol.

mmmm. i useta be really into dbz bud 3 and naruto ultimate ninja games, so i'm sorta use to special moves not having qcf/dp/half circle movements from those games. they had 4E, 6E=specials....so it won't feel so odd for me. its obvious the developers went in that direction since they were well aware of how sucky the xbox D-pad is. just impossible to do precise qcf movements with on a consistent basis. and since the game was developed first for console and didn't originate in arcades first like most fighters... there ya go. i also don't find it to be sooo slow looking...its probably all the clashing that makes it look slower.

yeah, i saw some of the air combos in one of the vids you linked...but my pc shut down/crashed for no good reason so i wasn't able to see the entire vid. those air combos don't get very high of the ground like in melty or guilty gear, but it looks fun regardless. i was just wondering if the game played like vanguard princess or not. seems like it doesn't play like either gg or vp. its its own creature, from what i see.

Nora, .....since you've downloaded and played phantom breaker....can you tell me if the game has air combos in it? are air combos even possible in this game? i have seen only a few vids of PB and i have yet to see a single air combo in gameplay. i'm just curious.

there's 8 bit and up store. where some of the employees and store owner holds late night sessions...but i don't think any one here goes there. and i here its mostly ssf4 and mvc3, i don't think that anyone goes there 2 play anime fighters, as far as i know. i've never been there. srk atlantic north regional board has the 8 bit and up thread. why are you complaining about distance if you live in lower manhattan anyway? i gotta go to bronx, and if its past 11 0r 12 or 1 am the 4 train goes local. which is not fun having to go through the train stop at every single stop from bottom to top of the entire island of manhattan. hellishly slow. plus i gotta switch from the D to N/R, to 4, then to 6 train. sux man.
